Not much to say today, but I wish I was the one that broke the news of Melina's firing. Oh, happy day.

Hogan needs to leave TNA and focus on doing more Rent-a-Center commercials.

There's been speculation this could be his last year with TNA, but I'll believe that when I see it

What's happening with Roode? last time I saw him he was cutting promos opposite Hogan and doing a great job with them.

The rookie from the indies that intiially started out as Amazing Red's little brother is getting the main event spot at TNA's biggest PPV? against who? and I thought they were doing Hogan vs Sting?

They've been talking about giving Roode a singles push for a long time and a lot of people in the company are said to be high on him. They've been playing up his shoulder/arm injury angle in the BFG tournament and it costing him some matches. It's clear though tha they are setting things up with him to get a big push.

Unfortunately yes he is. From what I've been hearing, it's been expected that Crimson may with the BFG series and get a title shot. I would think that if they go that route, it would be against Kurt Angle, who is the the only guy on the roster who could possibly carry Crimson and make him look like a great.

TNA has surely played up the Angle never beating Sting cleanly story the past couple of weeks so I'd expect Kurt finally gets his win at Hardcore Justice, thus making him the champion for Crimson and freeing up Sting to wrestle Hogan at BFG.

I must add, given BFG is in Philly, I would not at all be shocked to see RVD beat Crimson sunday. The Philly crowd is a tough/smart one and matching up RVD against Angle might be a safe match to make

You just got off on her firing news more than you ever did her splits didn't you? Cigarette?

I hope you weren't...hoping...for Hogan vs Sting. :wow: Not that any other options look better but the only thing Hogan needs to be wrestling at this point is his medication bottles.

Turning them both heels (in the same week no less) was so illogical, even for the WWE, they'll just have to sign Kana to kick both their asses! :awesome:

I've been trying to figure that one out myself. Maybe its because WWE has so few strong female heels. Melina was a jobber (now fired), Maryse is hurt (or avoiding a stalker), Laycool are both gone, and some brave bastard had the courage to get under Kongs skirt.

Of course this is what happens when you only push Laycool for so long. Maybe its some storyline where Beth and Natalya tear through all the other girls (Mmmm :) ) like bullies only for Kong to return as a face to stop one or both of them. i know it makes no sense since Kong was a bully but I got the feeling that when she left they may have been setting her up to be a victim of bullying by prettier girls herself.

It sucks because neither one now has a strong babyface worker to have any good matches with in the interim. AJ is ok but she's still new to the main roster. Beth and Nattie can't carry everybody.

@ Superark

I like everyone on your lists except Ted jr. The only push I want to see him get is a push out the door.

I was hesitant to put him on the list, but I'm curious to see what he could do if given the opportunity. For whatever reason he is a guy that was buried and not even given a chance.

Ted DiBiase Jr? He's been given opportunities, but he's weak. They even tried to use his father's Million Dollar gimmick to get him over but it didn't work.

With the WWE quarterly conference call in the books, the axe began falling Friday at WWE headquarters.

Melina, Gail Kim, Chris Masters, David Hart Smith and Vladimir Kozlov have all been released by the company.

"Yup, Japan here I come! No more WWE, had a great time tho." Smith wrote on his Facebook page. Kim tweeted "Hey I just wanted every1 to know that I officially quit WWE on Monday. So thank u wwe fans! This won't be the last u see of me. Love u guys" and later "please get it right . I quite! They didn't release ME."

Melina, ironically the "Diva Focus: August 5, 2011" at WWE.com, turned to the social media scene to pressure the company to reconsider.

"Feel free to Tweet, write, call @WWE about how u feel about anything. You deserve to be heard regarding any matter. Strength in numbers," she wrote on her Twitter account, @RealMelina. "In the next few days you will see many updates on the matter, so keep checking www.RealMelina.com I will definitely Blog & Vlog about it."

Gail Kim seemed positively exuberant on her Twitter account, on which she claims that she quit.

"Every1 sounds upset or sad or concerned..trust me its the best thing ever. Now my life can begin. All the negativity is gone and control over my life. No one can hold me down but me now!"

Masters released an official statement, which included an email address ([email protected]) to take bookings at: "Obviously, I'm surprised by the move. But I'm optimistic. I'm going to move forward and see what lies ahead. I still love this business and I'm not going to give up because of this small set back. I want to explore and see what options I have for the future."

Apparently Tara and Hemme are already pulling to get Gail back to TNA as soon as possible.

Japan should take this as a threat and defend the country like they're being invaded by North Korea.

Well Aksana got even hotter.

I like the hairstyle and makeup, but don't really get the Wolverine outfit.

Looking like Evelyn Salt.

I guess, but her character, as far as I can tell, is supposed to be a demure sex kitten, not a Matrix-like action hero. Doesn't quite fit, at least from a stylistic point of view.

If they push Roode all the way to the title it will be the best thing theey have done sine AJ's heel title run IMO. Roode as the total package if booked right, are the crowd behind him?

I see, I wasn't sure if Hogan had healed enough to actually wrestle, that should be an awful match with poor Sting having to try and carry the most broken down guy in the company to big main event hyped match.

I agree with you on the fact they should do Angle vs RVD if the show is in Philly as they will crap on this Crimson guy. I personally think RVD has mostly phoned it in, in TNA but Philly is his old stomping ground and Angle has the respect of the harsh crowds, it's the only thing that makes sense....so TNA will almost certainly throw Crimson to the lions.

:funny: No I wasn't hoping for it, with Hogan barely able to walk and Sting doing that goofy Joker gimmick I can see a Hogan/Warrior Halloween Havoc 98 proportion disaster. :(

:funny: Did the WWE release Layla as well?

The two woman power trip? It could work and they sort of took Kong out in face mode, but personally I hate the idea of Kong as a face, it kills her mystique and the best things about her act IMO.

Once Kelly loses to Beth my guess is Eve will be the one pushed against Beth as she's bigger, but she gets zero reaction.

When has he ever been given a true opportunity where he's been booked well? He's always been booked poorly and the one time, when he first debuted, he was given a slight chance he did alright, but was doomed from the start because he was made out to be a poor clone of his father.

There's nothing there to book. He was outshined in Priceless/Legacy and had nothing to offer as a singles wrestler. He's the new Abismo Charismo (as my friend calls him, replacing Davey Richards). The best thing WWE can do with him is let him go.

Still, Melina's firing was all kinds of make me happy I forgot all others things I wanted to say.

The man has no charisma. After the split with Legacy he was booked fine but the audience gave him no heat. He's average in the ring but nothing causes him to stand out. And he's not that good on the microphone.

Cody Rhodes was always the better talent and it shows in him taking that "Dashing" gimmick and making something out of it. He was the standout in Legacy too.

So did I miss something or is R-Truth on both brands now?

The Punk storyline is one of the few things I care about in WWE...and its the occasional great stuff like that that keeps me watching.

The Tag team division is DEAD. I grew up on the days of LOD, The Steiners, Demolition, The Bulldogs, The Hart Foundation, The Rockers, New Age Outlaws.

Jeez I'd GLADLY take a WWE tag team division of High Energy, The New BlackJacks, The BodyDonnas, and The Smoking Guns over anything WWE is offering right now. They were 50 times better than any tag team (all two of them) in WWE today.

The Divas Division is has two good wrestlers and mostly a bunch of broads with bolt ons who'd be better suited to doing the next Vivid porn movie instead of wrestling.

And since the internet makes porn easily available...Divas = piss break.

Remember when Curt Hennig and Bret Hart or Scott Hall and Shawn Michaels used to tear the house down for the IC title? WWE doesn't. Dolph could be a great champion...but he's in a midcard that matters less than Vince scratching his nuts.

I can't even tell you who the US champion is right now.

I just saw a WWE commercial on Smackdown were four of the six guys mentioned were top rising stars... Fifteen. Years. Ago.

Except for this Punk thing...WWE ain't really no better than TNA. I watch both for the occasional good thing that comes down the pipe.

I just saw were Jersey Shore did higher ratings than Raw or Impact COMBINED. Probably Raw, Impact, AND Smackdown combined too. Lets put things in perspective here people.
:applaud:applaud

I agree especially about the tag team, divas and midcard belts. Right now the WWE treats all those titles/divisons like they are worthless.

Fair enough.

Injured. Tore a couple of important ligaments in her knee apparently and had major surgery. I think it was said it will still be several months before she comes back. Even then, I don't know what they'll do with her since they were pushing her as a face when that happened.
