As far as her music goes she clearly says on the album that she had fun making it because it came easy to her to write it from the perspective of her CHARACTER in the movie. This may or may not be true, but it does fit considering the context of the movie.

i don't think it's that. it's just that it makes people talk when someone with looks like beyonce goes with someone like jay-z. everyone questions it once in awhile. like what does she see in him? harmless stuff.
