Beyond: The RPG of Tomorrow!

Universe.jpg

Space. The final frontier. These are the voyages of... well... YOU! That's right, welcome to Beyond:The RPG of Tomorrow! This RPG is centered around a new and exciting universe that takes place in the year 9977 A.W. (A.W. means After War). This RPG was designed specifically for players to live out their wildest science fiction fantasies. Here is the basic history of Earth and the universe thus far:

Earth: It was a world full of war and wonder. A world inhabited by a young race of beings known as Man or, humans. Over the years, humans have been able to influence their surroundings in new and often dangerous and unexpected ways. Man had evolved from undersea creatures, to land mammals, to the upright beings they are today. However, Man was not yet done with evolution. Some humans began developing strange new abilities. Some used their newfound abilities to fight crime and protect the innocent. While others used their powers in more selfish ways.

Now we go to a world many, many lightyears away from Earth. This world is known as Varn. It is an incredibly dark and evil place, completely covered in a black fog that poisons any creature not native to Varn. On this planet, there lived the Varnor. The Varnor are an evil race of spectral-like beings. They have no true physical form, instead, they "possess" inanimate objects and use them to influence the physical spectrum. While the Varnor may only be able to physically harm you when they have possessed an object that would allow them to do so (a suit of armor, a sword, a gun, etc. They usually prefer cloaks and weild long, poison-tipped swords), they CAN poison or telepathically harm you.
This world was soon discovered by a Carpen (a race of beings who resemble humans but are much stronger) known as Xandir Karn. When Karn discovered this world, he is horrified, and fears that the entire universe will soon be consumed by this evil. Karn gathered many of his race and formed a resistance whose goal was to defeat the Varnor and wipe them from the face of existance. Eventually, a group of intergalactic police known as The Protectors, came and discovered planet Varn, as well as Karn's resistance. They decided to help him and gave him a weapon of incredible power, sword, which Karn used to become an increasing threat to the Varnor.

The Varnor decided that it was time to destroy their enemy, Karn, and his allies, as well as the Protectors. They attacked a freighter near Karn's homeworld. This freighter was piloted by Karn's sister, Sy. They captured Sy and took her to the surface of their homeworld where she soon succumbed to the poisonous atmosphere, and died. The Varnor then stripped her of everything but a necklace she wore, and kept her body intact. When Karn discovered the body of his beloved sister, he took the necklace (which was, as the Varnor predicted, a precious family heirloom), and traveled to the Protector headquaters of Tamriel 0, in order to enlist their aid once more.

Little did he know, a Varnor Infiltrator had hidden itself in the necklace that belonged to Karn's sister. Once Karn reached Tamriel 0, the Varnor left its hiding place and headed towards the Sword of the Gaurdian (which supplied energy to all the Protector swords throughout the universe). There, the Varnor introduced a virus which infected the Sword and, in turn, every Protector in the universe. Soon afterwards, the Protectors were destroyed by the virus which had plagued thwm, including Karn (who caught it from a female Protector he had made love to). With no one left to oppose them, the Varnor took over Tamriel 0 and rebuilt the planet in THEIR image.

Word of Tamriel 0's fall reached Earth, and the heroes left the planet to defeat the evil which they feared would eventually reach Earth. Sadly, the Varnor proved too much for the heroes of Earth, and they were beaten, unmasked, and executed.

Soon, Earth's villains made their move, and attempted a world-wide take-over. However, the villains became too greedy and began fighting each other, starting a large-scale war that destroyed many of Earth's greatest cities.

Years later, a group of powerful peace-keepers arrived on Earth and were shocked at how ravaged the planet was. These beings consisted of many races, and they formed an alliance known as the Knights of the North Star. The Knights believed that Earth's corruption would prove too much for even THEM to handle, so they allied themselves with a race of poweful beings who fought evil using psionic weapons and telekenesis. They are known as Setzers.

Soon, they wiped out the evil that had plagued Earth for so many years, and brought about a new wave of peace for the blue planet. The Knights gave them a new source of energy, the same source they used to power their weapons and armor. The Knights' technology was solar-powered by the North Star (which is a sun many times larger than ours). They developed a way to harness the power of their sun even from billions of lightyears away. With the Knights' new source of power, pollution came to a stop, and our technological advancements skyrocketed. Earth began creating space-crafts to explore the universe and discover new planets and galaxies. They soon formed an alliance with the many planets they had found, and they began calling themselves the Universal Alliance. The rest, as they say, is history.

That's the basic history of the game. Exciting isn't it? Before you can post your character application, you're going to need to learn the rules of the game first:

Rules:

1. All rules must be followed EVEN by the GM and his assistants. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

2. While you ARE allowed to create and customize your own races and classes and planets, you CANNOT customize a pre-existing race or class or planet.

3. Multiple characters will be allowed (two at first, but more may be created as the game progresses), but ONLY if you believe you are capable as playing multiple characters. If you are playing as two characters and you drop one, you may not be eligible to play as multiple characters again (unless you are dropping one character to create an entirely new one). Also, if you are playing more than two characters, and you drop out of the game completely, you may not be able to play again. Don't drop out if your characters are a large chunk of the roster. It's just ridiculous. (NOTE: Exceptions are allowed if you are dropping out due to personal reasons).

4. Do not argue with the GM or Assistant GMs when it comes to how the game is handled. You won't win.

5. Try to get along, please. This isn't a schoolyard, so please be civil.

6. All standard Hype rules apply.

7. HAVE FUN!

Well, now that you know all the rules, all that's left is to create your character. But first, you might want to take a look at the list of races, classes, and factions to choose from:

Races:

Aerians: Aerians are a curious, music-loving race who are identical to humans in appearance (however, their vocal chords are stronger than a normal human's). They live on the planet Gibson 7 which is also very similar to Earth. They have strange weapons that double as instruments (in fact, they take the shape and appearance of Earth instruments). No one really understands the Aerians' obsession with Earth music, but it is rumored that the instruments ton Earth were originally created by the Aerians.
Stats: Aerians have basically the same stats as humans, except Aerians are slightly faster and more agile than humans. Some even have superhuman vocal chords that cause massive ammounts of destruction.

Setzers: Setzers are a race of humanoid beings with pale skin and cool purple eyes (the iris, not the entire eye). They also all have jett-black hair and are very slender in appearance. The Setzers also do not have a specified name for their planet, but simply refer to it as "Home" or "Headquarters", however, the Universal Alliance refers to their planet as Syntek6. Setzers have powerful mental abilities and can create strong psionic weapons with their minds. They are led by Prince Xemnas, but do not necessarily follow his every order. The Setzers have vowed to protect the universe from evil and tyranny, and they take themselves quite seriously.
Stats: Telepathy (All Setzers have strong telepathic abilities which are used for long-range comminication, as well as communication with unknown races), Psionics (Setzers can create powerful psionic weapons with their minds), Telekenesis (Setzers have the amazing ability to move and manipulate objects with their minds)
[NOTE: The attributes listed above are for basic Setzers. Different Setzers create and specialize in their own unique ways of the mind]
Strength: Slightly less than human.
Speed/Reaction time: Speed is the same as human, however, their reaction time is greater as they have trained to focus their minds to peak perfection.
Durability/Endurance: Slightly less than human
Agility: Slightly greater than human due to their lithe bodies.

The Hume(Tera 1) They look exactly like humans except for their Hazel eyes. The are much more advanced than Humans on Earth are. They have a strong sence of justice and belive that good will eventually trumph over evil. Their greatest technological achievement is their teleportation technology. All they have to do is go into the chamber and say where they want to go. And they appear there. They use this technology to go to distant planets and try to stop conflicts like war in a peacful manner. But this does not mean they won't fight if they have too. They also use their technology to see impending doom that will occur on other planets and go warn them.
Their attributes are the same as humans but they are much smarter.

Ravagers: While their planet and race's name is unknown, what IS known about these monsters is that they use to be a scientific race until a virus that they created threw their planet into chaos(This happened a few hundred years ago.). The people who were infected are overcome with hunger for organic flesh, however they still retain their intelligence . After depleating their food supply on their planet, they discovered that they still can die of hunger. After their numbers began do dwindle, they created a ship large enough to hold all of them. They have been searching the universe for planets with life to sustain their hunger for over fifty years. To date, four planets have been desrtoyed because of this plauge. They also infect people by biting them, and are lead by their unrelenting hunger. Word about this incident has not reached our galaxy.
Strength:Much stronger than humans. Able to lift one ton.
Speed/Reaction time:Much slower than humans.
Durability/Endurance:Almost infinite. They do not feel pain or show emotion and never tire. All they feel is the hunger that overwhelms them.
Agility:Much slower than humans.

Kazarians: Kazarians are a race of cat-like people who live on the jungle world of Kazar. They do not use guns, but will use primitive weapons such as spears, staves, and daggers, however, they prefer hand-to-hand combat, and are trained from birth to fight. They aren't really a war-mongering race, but they do fight amongst each other at times. Kazarians are an honorable and noble race who basically wish to be left alone. They worship their various gods (Halln, god of war; Kearn god of wisdom; Delisle, goddess of love; and Sheree, goddess of death) and dwell in large tree cities. Their space-craft resemble large, stone temples.
Stats: Hand-to-Hand expertise, Animal Empathy (can communicate with and influence various creatures throughout the universe) Omni-linguistic (capable of learning and speaking any language upon hearing it. This was a gift from their gods), Sharp claws which are used as tools or weapons.
Strength: Capable of lifting 5 tons.
Speed/Reaction time: Above human. Can run at speeds of 95 MPH
Endurance/Durability: Slightly greater than human.
Agility: Much greater than human.

Varnor: Incredibly evil beings who take great pleasure in killing and torturing other races. They only wish to conquer and will desrtoy anything that gets in their way (including each other), and are considered by many to be the greatest evil in the universe. Their planet, Varn, is covered in a black, poisonous fog that kills anything not native to Varn. The Varn are a phantom-like race who can only influence things physically by "possessing" inanimate objects. They can also poison others and cause them harm using telepathy.
Stats: Possession (can place themselves into inanimate objects and influence the object's monement), Poison touch (poisons anyone foolish enough to touch them. This is due to their exposure to their deadly atmosphere), Telepathy (The Varnor have strong telepathic abilities which they use to communicate long ditances and inflict harm on their enemies).
Strength: Slightly less than human.
Speed/Reaction: Greater than human. The Varnor have quick movements, but do not run, rather, they fly where they need to go (unless they have possessed something that requires them to walk/run)
Endurance/Durability: The Varnor can go endless periods of time performing physical labor, however, they have slightly less durability than humans (unless they have possessed something more durable than a human)
Agility: Much greater than human.

Robots: The blanket term for artificial life forms created for a variaty of tasks. Due to several programing flukes that are still unexplained, there is a substantial minority of robots who are self aware. The only independant Robitic government is "Haven," a colony founded 100 years ago. However, the Universal Alliance does not recognise their independence. As their physical abilities are based on their design and model, Robots have no basic stats.

Neogi: A race of warriors who've conquered their entire galaxy, the Neogi are humanoid in appearance, save for their black eyes and needlepoint teeth. The Neogi are an emotion driven people and view those who try to hide their emotions as cowards or worse.

The Neogi live for battle, believing conflict brings out the truth hidden inside one's being. They have garnered a reputation for being viciously cunning soldiers who do not heed their own safety in a fight. A death in battle, especially a sacrifice that achieves victory, is the most glorious way for a Neogi soldier to die.

The Neogi Empire is separated into specific castes: Soldiers, Priests, Workers, Overlords, and the Supreme Overlord.

Soldiers are the majority group of the Empire and are comprised completely of males. Soldiers are given rank much as they are in Earthly militaries, with the top generals gaining the title of Supremor. They are some of the finest military minds in all the Empire and the ones who devise war strategies, lead the Neogi armies into battle.

The females are not allowed in the military by ancient law, but they play a more politically important role as they make up nearly 99% of the priest faction. The Neogi people are a highly religious lot and follow a small pantheon of deities who gave to them their edict: Life begins in pain, and ends in pain. In order for one to truly be alive, they must cast aside all fear and embrace the pain of life. As such, the Neogi have a number or rituals in which they inflict scars upon themselves, while showing no pain, to glorify their gods. Soldiers follow this edict more than any other caste.

Workers are comprised of two groups: the unlucky ones who are deemed unfit for soldiering or priestly work and captured slaves. The latter making up the majority of this caste with the former taking a more leadership role in the group's heirarchy.

Overlords are another more political caste, and are the regional governors of the Neogi Empire. They hold the same status of power as do the Supremors, and are answerable only to the Supreme Overlord himself.

The Supreme Overlord is the emperor of the Neogi Empire and is the only being in all the empire with supreme power in both the military and political factions. The Supreme Overlord spends most of his time dealing with affairs of state and military matters, common things to one in such a position. He is seen as the face of the empire and a direct link to the gods. Only the males can claim rights to the throne of the Neogi Empire.

One of the main pieces of Neogi technology is the full body battlesuits their soldiers wear (think Madalorian armor). These suits vary depending on rank with the suits of higher ranking individuals having more functions.

Standard Battlesuit: contains a self-sustaining environment, allowing the wearer to survive in space, underwater, and other extreme conditions; Wrist blasters can loose a myriad of different attacks (flame-thrower, plasma cannon, powerful stun ray, electrical blasts, cold beam, force blasts akin to a telekinetic attack); helmet houses many functions (visor allowing sight in many spectrums from heat to nightvision, and from micro-scopic vision to telescopic and x-ray vision, as well as data analysis of targets; transmitter able to pick up signals from around a globe; high-tech breath filters that prevent breathing of any poisonous or unfit air; contains psychic dampeners that aid in repelling mental attacks); armor is naturally sturdy being made out of the metal Zandium (extremely durable substance that is amazingly resistant to conventional attack as well as extreme environmental conditions; light in weight)

The Tanar'ri: Melee weapon of Neogi soldiers. Has a bit of divine history to it as it is said that the war god, Shimmra, created the first one from the bones of the old gods after slaying them: collapsable staff used for hand to hand combat and powered with destructive energy designed to cause extreme pain on contact by disrupting the target's neurons, cetralizing where staff connects with the target.

Shinzon Disruptor: Named after a famous historical Supremor, this is the standard blaster rifle of Neogi troops; Durable, light in weight semi-automatic rifle that fires bursts of plasma rounds with a range of 500 meters. Plasma cells that connect to butt of rifle hold 50 shots before being needed to be replaced.

Although not a power, Neogi soldiers are trained from a young age in the arts of unarmed, weaponed, and ranged weapon combat.

Strength: Same as a man
Speed/Reaction Time: Same as a man
Endurance/Durability: Much more durable than a man (Neogi are taught from birth to endure pain and can take extreme punishment)
Agility: Same as a man

Jovians: Human colonists on Jupiter, genetically altered to be able to survive it it's environment. Centuries ago they broke away from the Earth and formed their own government. Posess vast strength and are capable of self propelled flight via a super conductive nervous system (which also gives them lightning fast reflexes and reaction time, as well as a degree of enhanced inteligence). Their government is similar to the Roman Republic, and their culture places heavy emphasis on the military.
Stats: Flight (capable of manipulating the electro-magnetic fields around their body to levitate and fly); Mental Speed (enhanced nervous system alows them the reaction time, reflexes, and thinking speed of a living super computer); Gas resistence (capable of breathing several gases that would kill a human, including hydrogen and helium, as well as surving in oxygen environments
Strength: Capable of lifting 50 tons on average
Speed/Reaction Time: Can run at 220 MPH, and can fly at up to 500 MPH. Reaction
Endurance/Durability: Much sturdier than humans, able to work for almost a day without tiring and withstanding over 50 tons of pressure on their bodies.
Agility: Less agile than a human

The SHCREEEEEEE: A race of shapeshifters, who's bodies are made up of a have mind of single celled organisms. Their planet is under a military dictatorship, and any intelectual, artistic, or spiritual persuits that do not directly aid the SHCREEEEEEE war machine are frowned upon. Being shapeshifters, they're capable of adapting to most situations, be it going under water, or flying through the air. They absorb nutrients through a form of photosynthesis, and are capable of surviving in the vaccume of space. However, as they need to absorb certain gases to remain healthy, they go into an inert state when in a vaccume.
Stats: Shape Shifting (able to alter their physical shape and density for a variety of effects, including wings for flight, bladed weapons, enhanced strength, aquatic travel, etc.); Cell adaptation (the cells of their body are very much like stem cells, and as such can alter themselelves for a variety of functions. This allows them several cellular based abilities, like the generation of electricity or the secreation of venom); They can survive in the vaccume of space indefinately, but because of the lack of oxygen, they slip into a catatonic state in the process.

Nuh: A race of bi-pedal creatures with vaguely reptilian and avian characteristics. They're planet was wiped out, with only 26 survivors, who are now scatters all over the universe. They're slightly stronger and faster than humans, and have retractible claw/blades made of bone that come out of their forearms.
Stats: Infra Red Vision (able to see the infra red spectrum of light, allowing then a degree of night vision); Bone claws (retractible blades that are apart of their skelital structure that retract into the forearm); Tail whip (their tail can be used as deadly weapons, with the proper training)Strength: Same as a human
Speed/Reaction Time: Slightly quicker than a human
Endurance/Durability: Same as a human
Agility: More agile than a human

The ....: A race of creatures who have gained the ability to manipulate reality itself, to a limited degree. This made them especially adept at mysticism, and as such are the most powerful mystics in the universe. As they believe heavily in subjectivity and individuality, no one member of their race looks the same, and they have no common name. Only their individually chosen names, and whatever other speicese refer to them as a whole. Going to their homeworld is like having a bad acid trip.
Stats: Reality Alteration (able to manipulate the very fabric of time and space. However, the bigger the change made, the more dificult it is, as they require a great deal of concentration. Magic is used to aid their powers, but even it has it's limits. The more .... there are around, the easier it is for them to use their powers); Arcane Knowledge (possess a great deal of knowledge in regards to magick and mystical practices all across the univers, as well as the mythologies that come with them. However, individuals tend to focus on certain orders and mythologies, or even make up their own)

Race # 1,768,328,874,429: The sister race to The ..... Unlike their cousins, they applied their abilities to science, and as such have become the greatest resource of technology in the universe. Their super science has made them just as formidable as The ...., and has made them very wealthy. Their world resembles a 30s sci-fi movie, and their bodies are very plain and practicle. Physically, they are nigh immortal, but not well suited for combat.
Stats: Probability Manipulation (like their sister race, they can manipulate reality, but ther skill in it only goes so far as increasing or decreasing the likelyhood of certain events); Super Science (over the years, they have used their reality warping powers to increase their inteligence, as well as increase the potency of their technology and make certain, highly unlikely discoveries happen. Their world is a technological utopia, and their science rivals the ....'s magick); Immortality (over the years, they have crafted for themselves perfect bodies, and are as such immune to every cause of death they could think of. However, as intelectuals, they are still physically frail and poor fighters)
Strength: Weaker than a human
Speed/Reaction Time: Slightly quicker than a human
Endurance/Durability: Less durable than a human
Agility: Slightly more agile than a human

Bloo Ha: Highly inteligent aquatic creatures native to the Jovian Moon Europa. Close allies of the humans, as they were the first alien life forms they came into contact with. Their bodies are adapted solely for ocean live, and the only humanout characteristics they have are their opposable thumbs. They require specialized suits to breath and walk on land.
Stats: Aquatic Adaptations (capable of breathing under water and swimming at high speeds); Echo Location (can communicate with each other and other sea life); Poison (can produce poisonous quills)
Strength: Less than a human
Speed/Reaction Time: Less than a human (on land) Capable of swimming at 50 MPH
Endurance/Durability: Less than a human
Agility: Less than a human (on land)

Bloo Ha Tan: While considered a sister race to the Bloo Ha, they are in fact a completely different speicese. They live at the bottom of the ocean, are massive in size, have completely armor covered bodies, and are very, very strong. Unlike the Bloo Ha, they have legs, and are vaguely Crustacian like in appearance. However, they don't have hands that are any good for using complex tools, and require the Bloo Ha to build their machines. They have special pressurization chambers that allow them to go to the surface very quickly.
Stats: Body Armor (covered in an exoskeliton that can cussion the blow of a grenade); Razor Touch (have four arms, each set with deadly talon/claws)
Strength: Able to lift 10 tons on average
Speed/Reaction Time: able to run up to 30 MPH on land
Endurance/Durability: Much more than a human
Agility: Less agile than a human

Spri: Gasious beings who live on the surface of a star. They're highly corosive, and must be inside robotic containment suits to interact with others.
Stats: Deadly touch (being made of corrosive gases, their touch is lethal to most organics); Glyding (can ride air currents)

Manorians: Creatures from a planet covered in clouds so think that absolutely no light gets through. They are blind, but also, interestingly, completely invisible. Because of this, those who leave their homeworld often become spies, assassins, and theives.
Stats: Perfect silence (being from a sightless world, they have mastered the art of moving without a sound); Invisibility (all visible light passes through their bodies, making them invisible.); Enhanced senses (to compensate for their lack of sight, their sense of hearing, tast, and smell are vastly superior to that of a human's)
Strength: Same as a human
Speed/Reaction Time: same as a human
Endurance/Durability: Same as a human
Agility: Same as a human

Junkfolk: A race of technological, organic, and techno-organic life forms who live on a planet that, for millenia, had been used as a junkyard for the galaxy.
Stats: Mechanical aptitude (are highly skilled in the manipulation of mechanical devices); Cyber Empathy (can interface with copmuters and artificial life forms)
Strength: Much stronger than a human (able to lift up to 4 tons)
Speed/Reaction Time: Same as a human
Endurance/Durability: Much greater than a human
Agility: Less than a human

Falatangu: The origional inhabitants of the planet Mars. Millenia ago, they had a prosperous civilization. However, by the time human colonists found them, there were incredibly primitive, living in underground caverns and only journying to the surface for water. To clear the planet for terraforming, the humans forced them to leave their homeworld. Now they are nomads, living on the fringe of society and doing their best to survive. They're tough as nails, and they generally don't like humans.
Stats: Darkvision (can see in near perfect darkness); Burrowing (Falantangu are highly skilled and digging and mining, and have a great deal of knowledge about geology); Riding (since their exile, the Falatangu have mastered the art of mounted travel, and are experts in the use of mounted creatures from across the universe); Weaponers (Falatangu are considered some of the best weapon makers in the universe, at least when it comes to melee weapons); Falatangu cannot survive in ogyxen environments, and need Carbon Dioxide tanks to breath in non Carbon Dioxide environments.
Strength: Less than a human
Speed/Reaction Time: Slightly quicker than a human
Endurance/Durability: Much more than a human
Agility: Less than a human

They're scattered all over the universe, pulling off bombings, kidnappings, robberies, and so on to get the point across. In their minds, there is a war on that will not end until Robots are veiwed as full citizens by the UA. Naturally, of course, there will be some members who, if peace is ever acheived, simply won't know how to stop fighting. Their chain of command is the same as the Earth Military.

The Universal Alliance: The Alliance of millions of worlds across the universe. Their meeting place is Alliance Planet, a prosperous world covered mostly in jungle and decorated with centuries old architecture as well as modern technology. The meeting hall of the UA is Alliance Hall, in the capital city of Ninpa. The hall is fitted with a space/time compressor, which allows it to house the millions of deligates who atend meetings regularly, and allows time to flow in such a way that all can voice their opinions without the meeting lasting forty years.

Tuntan: The military force of the UA.

Contan: The police force of the UA.

The Knights of the North Star: Solar-powered peace-keepers and upholders of justice throughout the universe. They don't answer to any type of government, but instead, act on their own free will to ensure the safety of the universe.

Xumo was born on the SHCREEEEEEE homeworld to a high ranking military official who was charged with the task of monitoring transmitions from other worlds. Xumo grew up watching these transmitions, and one frequency caught his eye imediately. It was called "Comedy Central." As he grew, his outlook on the world was shaped by Dave Chepell, Kevin Smith, Simon Pegg, Matt Greoning, Trey Parker, Matt Stone, Chris Rock, Jon Stewert, and Stephen Colbert. Then, when he came of age, he realized what he wanted to do with his life: He wanted to be a comedian. However, if it doesn't help the SHCREEEEEEE war machine, then it's not generally apreciated on his homeworld. He tried his comedy, but everyone thought he was just insane. His family disowned him, and his government forced him into an unofficial exile. He now wanders the stars, looking for a new home and his fame and fortune.

Fighting Skill: Being an army brat, he's a decent fighter, although not that great.

Resources: Practically non existant.

Notable Equipment or Vehicles: None. He's a hitch hiker.

Weaknesses: Just those conventional to his speicese. Although he has a hard time saying no to a pretty face.

Supporting Characters:

Describe using proper English grammar what you think you can bring to the RPG: Well, I'm a good writer (so I'm told), and I work well with others.

How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG: As much as possible.

Xumo sits in a boat on a river, with tangerine trees and marmalade skies. Someone calls out to him, and he answers quite slowly. It's a girl with kaleidoscope eyes. Cellophane flowers of yellow and green tower over his head. He looks for the girl with the sun in her eyes, but she is gone.

At this point, Xumo's body began to solidify. He was initially quite confused, but then he remembered the pilot who shot him out of the airlock when the fact that he had no money became known, and it all made a bit more sense. Almost instinctually, he grew himself a pair of eyes. At this moment, people started screaming. As his eyes adjusted, he saw that he was on a table in some kind of lab, with two Aerian scientists getting over the initial shock of seeing the sample they just collected from the void coming to life.

"Jeez" he said, as a mouth formed on his face. "Where am I?"

The male Aerian stepped forward.

"You're on the Kael. It's a reaserch ship."

"What's the date?"

"Excuse me?

"What's the date today?"

"Uhh...."

"On the Gregorian calandar. What is the date on the Gregorian calandar?"

"The 24th of August."

"Great."

Xumo took a bi-pedal form, similar to the Aerians, and stood.

"I've been out for a week and a half."

He began looking around the laboratory.

"If you don't mind my asking" said the female scientist, "what were you doing out there?"

"I got thrown out of an airlock."

"Why?"

"Because the universe hates me."

"So" said the male. "What's your name?"

"Xumo."

"Ah, well, I'm Doctor Rell, and she is Doctor Pulo."

"Nice to meet you. So, you guys have any spare sleeping quarters? I mean, you're not going to chuck me back into space, are you?"

"Of course not" said the female. "But we don't have any extra beds. However, we are making a supply run in a two days's time. Until then, I'm sure we could aproximate whatever sleeping arrangements you prefer. My quarters are the largest, so you can sleep there with me."

"...really?"

It was at that moment that Xumo thought maybe, just maybe, the universe didn't hate him after all.

He was quite wrong, of course.

More on the Neogi...

The Neogi Pantheon

Tsahvong Lah: Principle deity and master god of the Neogi Pantheon; said to have created the Neogi race from his own flesh and blood; depicted as a large regal and scarred Neogi male. He lives in his palace, Czul, in the Otherworld (the Neogi's afterlife) and is tended to by the souls of Neogi who have had honorable deaths.

Shimmra: God of War; depicted in statues as a large Neogi male bearing his teeth and looking ahead, with a gold crusted Tanar'ri in his hands. Shimmra is the deity most worshipped by the Neogi as he is the principle god of the soldier caste; Shimmra's Blessing is a scarrification ritual that all Neogi cadets go through once their soldier training is complete. It consists of the soldier taking their newly received Tanar'ri and holding it to their chest for five minutes. The soldier is watched over by a high ranking priest and his fellow soldiers to be and must not make a sound or grimace in pain. Once the time has elapsed the priest takes away the Tanar'ri and blesses it in the blood of the soldier's fresh wound, thus bonding weapon and Neogi for the rest of the soldier's life. The ritual leaves a massive scar on the Neogi's chest which is displayed proudly when the soldier is not in full battle gear.

Nemini: Wife of Tsahvong Lah, Nemini is depicted as a beautiful Neogi female with scares to match her husband; Nemini is seen as the deity of beauty and life. She is celebrated after each lunar cycle on the Neogi homeworld.

Nom Denon: God of deception; depicted as a small yet devious Neogi male drapped in a large cloak; worshipped by Neogi spys and infiltrators; holy day is celebrated on the first new moon of every year on the Neogi homeworld.

Naz Anor: God of the dead; depicted as a hideously scarred Neogi male with one eye ripped from his skull; most statues depict him carrying a large bone staff that holds his missing eye on it's tip, or carrying his missing eye in his free hand; said to take the spirits of the glorious dead to palace of Tsahvong Lah where they will live with the gods for eternity; is the keeper of the spirits of those who do not die in battle and those that meet cowardly ends or are killed due to dark deeds.

And the ranks of the Neogi army from lowest to highest...

Cadet
Soldier
Subaltern
Commander
Warmaster
Supremor

Garryl was worried. Worried that today, he might get socked in the mouth, like the last time he offered his service to the long line of Fer Moors that happened to get in trouble. But Garryl had made a line in the sand. Since the Fer Moors were not robots, nor did their cases have anything to do with robots, he had no moral obligation.

"Well, time to get my hands dirty."

Scotch interrupted Garryl's sigh.

"Garryl, what-what-what-what am I made of?"

"Uh... Metal, Hard Plastic, LCD... W-wh..."

"I was just asking... If someone tries to hit you, I could take the blow."

Garryl let out a glitchy chuckle as he walked up the high steps of the arcane courthouse.

"Scotch, I'm no muscle-man, but-"

"Gare, last time, you got a big, swollen, black eye."

The smirk left Garryl's face. He thought of that experience. He grasped Scotch.

"...Well, better safe than sorry, heheh."

Sure enough, in minutes, a brawl erupted in the courthouse. Sticking to the plan, when a big brutish Fer Moor swung at Garryl, he held Scotch high above his head. The fist struck Scotch's metal hide, denting it. After they pulled the offending man back, Garryl stared at the clock.

"See? I knew it would wo-wo-wo-wo-wo-wo-wo..."

As Scotch repeated himself, Garryl sighed a sigh that turned to a short laugh. He knocked Scotch back to his senses.

"...wo-wo-wo-BONK-work."

Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards?: Yes... but I couldn't find a good pic.

Sample Post (Minimum 3 decent-sized paragraphs containing dialogue):

A man falls to his knees in the middle of a battle field. Horse like men battle each other, killing. With no regard for the man that now lies their broken.

All of this destruction.... all this death and killing..... because of me. ME!!! The greatest of all.... it's... it's all so... beautiful. He thinks as he looks up at all the death around him. A plan began to formulate in his mind. He gets to his feet and begins to walk into the middle of the battle. A spear flies past his head. Missing him by mere centimeters.

A bright light hit's him from the sky. He looks up into it and instantly puts on a fake frown. Tears begin to fill his bright hazel eyes. This would surly fool them. Yes, it would have to. He begins to be lifted off his feet into the light. He closes his eye's.

When he opens them again he is in a room surrounded by old men in robes. Their faces are hidden in shadow by large cloths draped over their heads. Each a different color to signify their ranks. Blue being the lowest, next is green, than red being second in command. The last and the highest is a color not known to Earth. They are all in chairs in a half circle that surrounds him. He looks to the center where the eldest man sits with the strange color sits. He looks down at him.

"Dane Crow..... You have failed our mission and disgraced your self. What do you have to say?"

"I am.....sorry" He smiles to himself. It was all going to work out.

Yes it is..... also I GOT TO QUESTION FIRST DOOM!!!!!

Character Class: Scientist/Terrorist (You should ad that as a Class Doom).

Terrorist shouldn't be a class. That could easily be encorperated into scientist, solder, spy, or assassin. Anyway, approved.

Also, we should add Human as a race. People might get confused.

Anyway, cats and kittens, as I created them and am the first to play as them, here's the write up of the SHCREEEEEEE's culture, polotics, and history. Anyone wanting to play a SHCREEEEEEE or a Neogi (as their histories are closely tied together) should read this:

First off, a lesson of language: SHCREEEEEEE means "The Changing People."

Long ago, the SHCREEEEEEE were locked in a feudal era, with regional Lords controlling hundreds, in some cases even thousands of peasants in a system akin to the Earthly Serfdoms. When they acheived space flight capabilities, the first race they encountered were the Neogi. As the Neogi were, at the time, entering yet another cycle of conquest, they invaded the SHCREEEEEEE homeworld. With the disorganized nature of their governments, the SHCREEEEEEE quickly crumbled under the heel of the Neogi. A regional governor was left in charge if the entire planet, and was given almost complete dictatorial powers. He was not the kindest of rulers.

Years past. Then, one day, a philosopher named Skraaaln came into the public eye. He proposed the idea that, as the poor were in the majority, then it was they who had the right to decide the workings of the world. But if that were to ever happen, the Changing People must cast of their prejiduces, their superstitions, and their personal preferences, and unite to one common goal. Skraaaln was quickly dubbed an enemy of the empire and was forced into hiding. But, his students took his teachings to heart, and formed a guerilla army called The Poor Folk, who, over decades of combat and broken peace treaties, were finally able to force the Neogi Governor off their world. They then set up a new democratic system of government, and for a very short time, there was peace. However, Skraaaln's philosophies worked better on paper than in practice, and when the Neogi came back in full force to quell the insurection, the time for optimism was past. An unofficial military dictatorship formed on the SHCREEEEEEE homeworld and they went to war with the Neogi Empire. What followed was a period of several wars. They would fight for a time, then peace treaties would be signed when it no longer seemed worth it, sometimes in favor of the Neogi, sometimes in favor of the SHCREEEEEEE. Of course, inevitably, a spark would light the fire again, and the bloodshed would start anew. Millions died in that time. In between hostile periods, the SHCREEEEEEE would expand their resurced through colonization and conquest. As a result, they now control 12 solar systems. Eventually, the Neogi Empire and the United Free People, as the SHCREEEEEEE called themselves, entered into an indefinite ceasefire. The official version of things is that the Neogi and SHCREEEEEEE governments get along splendidly, although some racial emnity is held by the average joe on the street. The official version is a crock. For almost a century, the Neogi and the SHCREEEEEEE have been in a state of Cold War, constantly spying on and sabatoging one another, as well as funding each other's enemies. The SHCREEEEEEE, being shapeshifters, are the vastly superior spies, and there have been a series of Witch Hunts in the Neogi empire regarding the possibility of SHCREEEEEEE posing as Neogi. However, to compensate for the SHCREEEEEEE's obvious advantage, have for years hired Manorian mercenaries to act as spies.

Due to the hundreds of Lordships in the old times, there are hundreds of distinct cultures and ethnic backgrounds amung the SHCREEEEEEE. The current government polocy is to discourage cultural diversity in favor of one, unifying world culture. However, some remnants still remain. Xumo is, incidentally, a Tarn, who come from one of the northern Islands and were once well known for their alchohol, the sport of Seaball, and their fine theaters.

Religion was also once very diverse on the SHCREEEEEEE homeworld (Which, by the by, is called SRHUGAN, which means "Ground and Sky"), but the current government discourages it as it lends itself to thinking that doesn't jibe with their polocies. One of the most popular religions before the rebellion against the Neogi was the worship of the NinTa (Five Gods). The NinTa were:

SRH, God of the Ground. Gave the Changing People the gift of the skill of farming.

GAN: Godess of the sky. Gave the people the gift of the skill of art.

MAAA: God of all the animals. Gave the people the gift of the skills of hunting and fighting.

SHCR: God of the Sea, and central figure of this particular religion. Out of all of the Six Gods, he was the only shapeshifter, and the first shapeshifter in all the world. A mischevious prankster with something od a bad temper, he is a Trickster and Folk Hero, akin to Anansi or The Monkey King. He gave the gift of Shapeshifting to the people. The story goes that SHRC visited his brother, MAAA (they were all siblings, you see), to take a look at his animals. One particular animal, a scrawny, snake looking thing that was to live in SHRC's seas, caught his eye. It wasn't because it was funny looking (although it was funny looking), or because it made silly noises (although it did make silly noises). No, it was because it had a tricky, funny way of acting that reminded SHRC of himself. So, he took the creature home, and made it his friend. One day, he decided to teach the little thing some tricks. He taught it how to fetch, he taught it how to dig, and he taught it how to sing. And then, he decided to teach it his favorite trick of all: Shapeshifting. And it learned, and became the first SHCREEEEEEE. And the creature became so popular amung the other Gods, that they helped SHCR and MAAA make more, and taught them things like fighting and farming and music and acting and painting and so on to make them smart. And they were fruitful, and they multiplied, and became the dominant speicese on the planet.

CRCK: The Godess of fire. She was always jealous of SHRC's ability to shapeshift, but he would never teach her, or any of the other Gods how, because he liked being the only one who could. But when he created the SHCREEEEEEE, she saw her chance. She went to SHCRE, and begged him to teach her. But he said no, saying that there's enough people who know how already, and he's still the only God that can shapeshift, so it still makes him special. So, CRCK went to one of the SHCREEEEEEE, and begged him to teach her how to shapeshift. He said that he didn't know, that he wasn't the greatest teacher in the world, and that he wasn't sure if SHRC would be happy if he did. But that was back when the SHCREEEEEEE still remembered their solid bodies very well, and CRCK gave him something that people with solid bodies really like. So he taught her. And when she learned, she invited everyone in the whole world to watch her shapeshift. But her teacher was right, he wasn't a very good teacher, and she wasn't a very good shapeshifter. And SHCR said it was alright, that he was still special, since he was still the only God who could shapeshift well. And ever since then, Fire and Water havn't likes each other, and Fire and the SHCREEEEEEE haven't liked each other. And the only gift CRCK ever gave to a SHCREEEEEEE was the gift of Death.

However, as I said, there are many other religions, and religion is no longer popular or encouranged under the new regime. Although, there are some spiritualists who take a spiritualistic aproach to Skraaaln's teachings of a united people, and believe that all religions and all gods are simply a different way of looking at the same cosmic truth, and are thus all valid and true. And this movement is gaining some momentum.

Yes it is..... also I GOT TO QUESTION FIRST DOOM!!!!!

Race/Planet: Aerian/Gibson 7

Character Class: Vagabond

Speech Color and/or Font (actually say what you're using, i.e. Arial Black; don't go "Like this", or what not):
Impact redx3
Character Alignment (Good/Evil/Neutral): Neutral

Character Personality (Give information on how your character acts, what he/she/it believes in, how they handle situations):
Axelia is a brash young (for his race) Aerian who lives life on the edge. He is not afraid to take risks and seldom stays in one place for long periods of time. His obsession with Rock n' Roll (particularly 1980's Earth Rock) is matched only by his obsession with freedom. He always sticks up for the underdog and despises tyrrany and oppresion. But, he'll perform any job (within reason) if it involves money. He really doesn't care much for the Society of the Mind or the Knights of the North Star. He also seems to have problems with authority figures, and constantly hits on women.

Origin Info/Details (don't be blunt, be as thorough as possible):
Axelia was banished from his homeworld for reasons unknown. He carries with him his most prized possesion, Queen, his guitar and weapon. He is searching for a Setzer known as Xemnas, and travels the universe on his ship, The Free Bird.

Fighting Skill: Trained but not mastered in hand-to-hand. However, he has mastered his instrument, Queen, which is a guitar made of a strange unbreakable alloy, and produces incredibly powerful sound waves.

Resources: He has friends in high places.:cwink:

Notable Equipment or Vehicles: His ship, The Free Bird, and his instrument, Queen.

Weaknesses: Has difficulty in backing down from a challenge and NEVER declines a Rock-Off.

Supporting Characters: None at the moment.
Describe using proper English grammar what you think you can bring to the RPG:
The RPG itself.

How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG:
As many as time will allow.

Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards?:
Yes. But there aren't any pics close enough to my character.

Sample Post (Minimum 3 decent-sized paragraphs containing dialogue):

Axelia walked across the face of the barren red moon of the Junkfolk's planet (he could never remember that planet's name). He had left his ship, The Free Bird, parked twenty feet away, and was now making his way towards a small cantina. He heard a voice, Bloo Ha, behind him.

"Stay where you are, Aerian. You're that Axelia the Ripper, aren't you? You've got quite the bounty on your head, kid. Heh, heh, heh."

Axelia stood in place, not saying anything. His instrument, Queen, firmly in her case on his back. Axelis heard another voice, this one Hume.

"You're coming with US, kiddo."

Axelia turned and looked up at the sky.

"You know where you are?"

The two bounty hunters gave each other confused looks.

"What?"

Axelia removed Queen from her case.

"You're in the jungle, baby... You're gonna DIIIEEEE!!!!"

Axelia spun around and strummed the strings of his powerful instrument. Invisible waves of sound shot across the ground and blasted the two bounty hunters off their feets and into the air. Axelia had his guitar back in her case before the two aliens hit the ground. Axelia smiled.

They never learn....

First Character post, heheheheh.
I saw. I liked it a lot.

Anyway, I wanted to let everyone know that if any characters try to look up info about the War (the one the Setzers and the Knights fought on Earth) they won't find anything other than what's in the History.

Accepted.

Although, I think we should have held off on posting the IC thread for a few more days.

I won't sign up for a little while, see how things go etc, then fill any needs in terms of races and characters etc. Anyhow, I'm still working on the Manorians, it'l prob be a five or six page document when I'm done, then I'll do it for another race.

I'm gonna try to get another page of stuff about the manorians up today.

MORE MANORIAN STUFF:

CULTURE
The Manorians are a communist society, whilst there are different levels of the race, within each level, there is equality. The highest level of the race is the ‘Thinker’ class, which is involved in all the political activities and help the distribution of wealth amongst the people accurately. The “Construction” class are involved in all the physical actions, mining, building, hunting etc. The “Service” class are the ones who cook, clean and provide medical help, they are skilled in various services, the “Construction” get the raw materials, whilst the “Service” shape them into what is needed if you will, meanwhile the “Thinkers” oversee the operations and make sure the planning side is sorted out.

The spiritual side of the Manorians has declined since space fairing, but there are still places of worship and some remain tied to the old ways.

RELIGIOUS BELIEFS:
Before the universe was the primordial ooze, a mass with unlimited potential, able to exist without, as in nothingness before the universe began. There was a spark of consciousness within the ooze which brought the universe into being, rather than becoming the universe, the ooze instead inhabited it as a semi-sentient being, a force of nature, from which all life was created.
Journeying across the blackness of space, the ooze would infuse planets with the potential for life, the spark of existence. Every living creature is related to the ooze, which is the source of life itself. Many people now search the stars for the ooze, which is why the home world has less of a religious stance, as the religious members have disappeared into the far reaches of deep space in search of the ooze.
When any living creature dies, it bio-degrades, eventually returning to the mass consciousness of the ooze, as through it, we are all linked, our minds/souls were there before we were born and shall return there when we die. Possibly to be reborn again somewhere else.
They do not believe in hell or sin, but that living creatures deserve respect, however if people fail to show respect to the living, then they themselves wash away any of that respect they were born with as a living creature. Eating animals is fine, enjoyment from killing is seen as unacceptable, but ingesting other living creatures just released their souls to the ooze, as they are all part of the same anyway, eating them is not an issue.

The Manorians are generally pacifists, however with the religious decline, they have become increasingly selfish as an entire race. Whilst not squabbling internally, the savagery of other races to their own people makes them forfeit their respect and right to live, which can cause them to engage in conflict. They have been part of an interplanetary war, which resulted in them committing genocide and wiping out an entire planet of life. Their self righteous nature is often frowned upon by others, but they are quite solitary as a race, preferring not to get involved with the more primitive(socially) races which are quite barbaric indeed.

Family is something void in their society, because children are raised communally, getting the benefit of hundreds of parents in stead of one, their loyalty being to the community and thus more egalitarian and less selfish. At an early age they are placed in a class as they show promise in a particular field. They are generally trained for specific roles in their lives, growing up with a purpose for the whole community. The way in which they breed is egg based.

MORE SECTIONS TO COME: Technology(weapons included), history, biology.
