haha thats awesome.

well, it shows that batman and gordon have a lack of faith in the citizens of gotham, despite the fact the whole movie has batman preeching his faith in the citizens to the joker. they should tell them the truth, and have faith that they will persevere through troubled times, just like they always have. it also serves no purpose. they say its to preseve harvey's reputation that gotham believed in, but all it causes is the people to have a false hope in their leaders (who are mostly corrupt) and now they also believe that theres a masked cop killer loose in the city who the police cant catch, which does nothing to give them hope in the city. it just serves no purpose, and certainly not for the reasons given in the film.I don't get why this is such a hard concept to grasp. Batman doesn't care what public opinion of him as long as he knows he hasn't taken a life. The only guy that's in control of apprehending him also knows the truth and is his closest ally. In addition, criminals who were getting a little defiant of him because they know he won't kill now have something to think about.
So why is that so UNTHINKABLE for comic Batman?

Au contrair...by protecting Harvey´s reputation, all the people he locked up won´´t go out (and they even say that in the movie, I dunno how it works, but they explain it in the movie)
Polux
Lol, did you guys just use the movie's lines as defenses?^exactly. If the deeds of Two-Face came to light, all the corruption he prosecuted against and criminals he convicted would be overturned in a court of law, they would be released, and the Joker would truly have swayed the soul of Gotham to one of his liking. All the progress that had been made, would've been done away with.
The people needed that hero with a face to put their hope in...that was Dent. Batman, as a symbol, could take the blame and shoulder it, because he's bigger than any one person. He is the hero that Gotham deserves, but not the one it needed at that time.

My question is: How does the Bat-pod run up the wall? Wouldn't the guns mounted on the vehicle hit the wall, causing the pod to crash???

Guns are moving up.My question is: How does the Bat-pod run up the wall? Wouldn't the guns mounted on the vehicle hit the wall, causing the pod to crash???
yea i'm sure them guns can move.
I think the Batman vigilantes were pointless and made for an extremely confusing introduction of Batman. I watched it 3 times with different people and all 3 whispered to me "What...hes got a gun...whats going on?!"

His grand entrance into the second biggest movie of all time should have been more breathtaking I think. Small complaint.
A lot of other stuff I missed until I watched it a second time too but I'm willing to put that down to me fading off for a sec. You really have to pay attention to every word said in this film.

The Batman copy cats were vital. The whole movie is the city's response to Batman. People in our world dress up as Batman, and Batman isn't even real. Just imagine if Batman was real; a symbol of hope in a corrupt world; would you dress up as Batman and try and save the city, too? YES. I thought it was awesome to see that.I think the Batman vigilantes were pointless and made for an extremely confusing introduction of Batman. TDK took away some of the mysterious, stealthy aspect of Batman and too often seemed to reduce him to a man in a costume. I prefer the angle that makes Batman the mysterious, shadowy figure in the night.
The DCAU Batman (and Batman Beyond for that matter) treat Batman the way I think he should be portrayed, always lurking in the shadows.
The tumbler crashing through the wall seemed really out of character to me. Batman is an agent of stealth and shadows, not "HAY GUYZ LOOK AT MY INTIDIMATING TANK!"
Come to think of it, I think that's another element I was disappointed in by Nolan. TDK took away some of the mysterious, stealthy aspect of Batman and too often seemed to reduce him to a man in a costume. I prefer the angle that makes Batman the mysterious, shadowy figure in the night.

I liked that part too. I just thought it was strange having shots of multiple obese Batman lurking behind cars. To the average movie goer that never heard anything about the viral marketing or Gotham Tonight, that was a bit confusing.i think his introduction was bad-ass, the way the tumbler bust through the wall at first you think he's in it. then just as the chechan is about to get smoked up he appears out of no where!! bad-ass!!! but thats IMO
True true.what about when batman appeared out of no where at the fund-raiser? what about when batman appeared out of no where in the interrogation room? did you guys even pay attention? lol
He also disappeared aswell.what about when batman appeared out of no where at the fund-raiser? what about when batman appeared out of no where in the interrogation room? did you guys even pay attention? lol
