The Dark Knight Biggest Disappointment

Oh I see. Well he didnt state that so I assumed otherwise. The batarangs dont really function as a "Boomerang" anyway. Ive seen it just as a weapon just to disarm the opponent (like a shuruken).

Same here: a useful object to have if the situation doesn't really merit a zipline, you don't use guns, and you're not close enough to manually smash the forearms.

was it really necisary to kill harvey? i mean, i'm sure they could have thought of sumthin so they could keep him alive.

Yeah I was kinda disappointed that Harvey died. A little bit more of Joker's laughter would have been nice too, buuuuuut I'm not complaining. It was an amazing movie through and through.

At the party, when Rachel slugs Joker & then Batman makes his move-how did Batman get into the middle of a crowded room without ANYONE noticing him? He's not exactly inconspicuous.

So technically this is a question am I right?

Also the goons look like they were focusing on the crowd while Joker was whispering his sweet story to Rachel. He also seem so caught up in what he was saying to not notice a highly skilled ninja who mastered the arts of stealth.

The prep time between him entering his "panic room" and the Joker telling the story. Very good point about the goons watching the crowd too. And for all we know, Batman dropped from the ceiling and said it as he landed. He's Batman. You may as well ask how Batman snuck into a bank vault in midday while the bank is swarming with cops. He's Batman. He just does it. :)

I can buy Captain Clown's theory moreso than the idea of him dropping from the ceiling without making a sound. The cape-which is the only thing that slows his descent-makes a noise when it opens.

Also I think the crowd would be hushed about Batmans entrance because they are are too paniced. Also he could have pulled an assassins creed and crouched through the crowd quickly disable one goon to say his one liner.

Cause he's the Goddam Batman!

It would've been cool if Batman had come crashing down the ceiling (hell he can afford to repair it), but he only crashed a window capturing Lau in Hong Kong.

Maybe having seen it in 3 other movies, Nolan's tired of the crashing skylight routine.

The goons were still functional when he made his presence known. And panic tends to make people noisy. They also tend to be more vocal when someone shows up to quell the danger.

I'll enlighten you on a series of letters I say when something like this happens, it's "HGB" which basically means "he's the goddamned Batman"

Really though. He's a trained ninja. Also, I'm guessing that people in there were quiet. I know if I were there, I'd be like "o geez, we're gonna die....is that the Batman? Sweet, I get to see Batman f*** these guys up" and I'd stay quiet.

Actually, in reality I'd be screaming like a girl in excitement.

But really, the answer is HGB.

as for the goons, they were probably as enthralled by the Joker's monologue as everyone else. Everyone except Bats, he wasn't impressed by that, just like he didn't give a crap about the Joker's scar story at the end.

What prep time?

You don't know prep time? Prep time is what Batman uses to be the most powerful superhero in the history of the universe without having any superpowers. It's what makes him the Goddamn Batman.

He's still a man, who cannot teleport or become invisible, and ninjitsu training enables you to move through shadows & things of that sort-it says NOTHING about getting through a crowded room full of panicked people-RICH people who have likely never faced life-threatening danger before.

I'm saying there was none.

haha...so true.

Taking shot at Batman '89's ending when in a completely hypocritical move Harvey dies. If Joker should never die, then neither should Harvey as they are both tied with Batman. Aside from them two and Catwoman every it's other villain that is expendable.

Cutting too quickly and not allowing the audience to savor the action.

Vanilla City. I'm not asking for overload like Burton, but a visually distinctive city.

Harvey, Joker and Gordon where all more interesting than Batman, again horrifically hypocritical when those involved chastised the previous Batman films for the same reason.

The entire gotham police department and Batman himself suddenly becoming inept whenever in the presence of the Joker.

Joker being omnipotent and/or his planning being too spot on. How the f*** did he manage to predict what the following on Harvey's way to county:

The SWAT truck carrying Harvey would survive getting shot with a bazooka.
Batman would survive his tank getting shot with a bazooka.
After Batman survives getting shot with a bazooka he manages to take out an 18 wheeler without his tank.

Batman having nothing to do with how the ferries get saved. Not only that but it doesn't acheive the intended message anyway.

George W. Batman

I'm saying there was none.

Bruce had time to:
- safely incapacitate Dent (and nestle him safely away)
- warn Rachel to stay hidden
- disarm a goon (breaking his face & dismantling his weapon)
- walk to his "panic room"
- drink tea with Jodie Foster
- put on his Bat suit
etc.

Saying Batman had no prep time is flat out ignorance on your part. He stepped out of the shadows, it's as simple as that. It was his penthouse, after all.. no one would know the layout as well as he would.

Because him being a ninja isn't enough...

Don't call me ignorant for asking a legitimate question. None of the things that you describe justify maneuvering to the center of a crowded (oh-and by the way, WELL-LIT) room undetected.

Because him being a ninja isn't enough...

No. Not when he lands in the middle of a room full of people who are standing in a circle, being a ninja is not enough. But hey, at least it wasn't ike Batman Forever's "BATMAN EEEEEEHHHHHHHH" guy.
