Birds of Prey Birds of Prey General Discussion and Speculation

Watched it again, brought tears to my eyes, it seem that good! And it seem to have something to say, and above all yes it seem to be a blast

Helps too have a low budget, thus making the sets be in real locations. The CGI fest we commonly get even for the production design now are depressing.

Agreed.
I'm so sick of everything around the actors looking like it's painted (which it is). I love CGI, but it is criminally overused in most of today's blockbusters, even when it's not needed. Everything is greenscreened and barely registers as real.
Great trailer. Looks like it's going to be a crazy and fun ride.
As for people already moaning about how the Birds of Prey play into this, it's clear that the team will be coming together during the development of the story.

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......

What was that? I hope to enjoy it, but seriously, what was that? Why are the birds relegated to glorified cameos?

Very Harley-centric trailer. I was expecting more of the other characters. Hopefully they're in the next trailer more, as this one was establishing where Harley is now (i.e. no Joker.)

I really liked the fights at the end. Really want to see more of the action.

I do hope there is a good crime plot amidst all the Harley shenanigans and the other characters get to shine too.

In surprised with he negativity drawn at this movie online. It looks fantastic, and very very Harley which i love (and i know others dont). it also looks different too

They completely stole that last scene from Last Action Hero.

Buzz has been actually good, disappointment from some is understandable since its Harley centric but overall it looks fun.

Why does it come as a surprise?

Because it's a different, and because we know this is just the first trailer with the next likely to focus on the other members. I personally loved this trailer

Visuals look great and I was impressed with the action at the end such as Black Canary fighting and just want to see more of that.

Her 1930’s dame outfit when shooting the bazooka is so straight out of Batman The Animated Series, I almost had a heart attack.

The last scene with Harley in the car with Cass was also very classic Harley, which was cool.

I think we're at a point where trusting the possibility of a good second trailer after a messy first one for a CBM is not the best expectation to have.

This first trailer was awesome to me. People just seem to hate the aesthetic of the whole thing without actually giving the movie a chance.

It is Harley centric, but i don't see the trailer as messy? But hey, the movie could be, who knows?

The decision wasn't to go with the movie's story and plot in the trailer but to go with showcasing Harley. I think it would've gotten less complaints if it went for the more regular "setting up the story" trailer. But they've chosen to go this route because of the popularity of Harley to kick off publicity. So I do believe the second trailer will be more of a "traditional" type trailer.

I want them to move away for the wackiness of Harley and focus on the plot. Move from the style to the substance (which hopefully is there.)

I think this movie looks awesome and it'll be a great watch, as long as I completely empty my brain that this is about comic book characters that usually wear costumes. C'mon this is 2019...I don't even care the Birds don't get much screentime, as much that when they do appear they don't look like Birds.

It sounded to me like she was trying to emulate Arleen Sorkin.

I don't feel weird about it because of aesthetics, it's just awkward, like Sonic the movie trailer awkward, when we're not thinking about the quality of CGI.
