I dug the trailer but this movie’s not gonna be for everyone. It looks like a quirky, gritty thriller. The only thing thats grating on me is Harley’s accent. She leaning harder on the New York style accent than she did in SS where it was kind of toned down.

Why is this called Birds of Prey?

The answer to this question is: Yes.

The decision wasn't to go with the movie's story and plot in the trailer but to go with showcasing Harley. I think it would've gotten less complaints if it went for the more regular "setting up the story" trailer. But they've chosen to go this route because of the popularity of Harley to kick off publicity. So I do believe the second trailer will be more of a "traditional" type trailer.

I want them to move away for the wackiness of Harley and focus on the plot. Move from the style to the substance (which hopefully is there.)

I'll just hope for a better trailer.

I've heard the positive test screening reports ... and loved Margot in SS, but holy smokes ... something is just totally off with this trailer. I just struggle to care after seeing it. The characters look so dull. I mean, could Huntress, Canary & Renee look any more non de-script.

All that Harley voiceover narration and dialogue is a lot to take!

I enjoyed the heck out of it if for no other reason than it is completely different. I am so sick of "Generic Comic Trailer #1" and really just generic comic films in general that something like this is completely welcome. The movie looks like it is going to be fun as heck and none too serious which to me is perfect.

Every shot of them in the trailer looks like they could be in any random movie ever made. I mean, looking at the pic posted above. I mean that costume design outside Harley (even if it's not the final outfits or something like that) is awful.

Not sure what some people were expecting from this trailer but it pretty much delivered on what the marketing has been setting up. If you can't get passed the Birds of Prey being radically different and in minor roles in their own movie, then this film won't be for you. As someone not particularly invested in those characters, I liked the trailer a lot.

Also, I'm super surprised by the feedback from people on here regarding Harley being front and center. It's been made pretty clear that she's headlining this movie....so I'm not sure why people are even remotely surprised....title or not.

The movie’s gonna have a tough uphill battle with the fans because 1) its a spinoff of Suicide Squad, a movie most people did not like and 2) its Called Birds of Prey but focusing on Harley from Suicide Squad Squad. And 3) the actual “Birds” look nothing like their comic counterparts. The fans are gonna s*** on this thing all the way til release so it just needs to focus on being a good movie to (hopefully) prove people wrong. But im not anticipating good buzz from the fanbase in the coming months.

He also did Black Swan and A Star Is Born (both are stunning films). I think we know who to blame for how Venom looked (the director).

Love Harley, HATE what they did to Black Mask and Cassandra Cain. Especially Cassie. They just didn't even try. Don't know why they didn't go with any of the other 12 or so characters they could have used as a filler for that part. Montoya and Harley and Huntress were the only ones I recognized. Harley because I know her, Montoya because she actually resembles her comic counterpart, and, I guess that was supposed to be Huntress with the crossbow.

I REALLY love Harley with the hyena, though. That, and basically all of her scenes look good...but this movie should have been called "Harley Quinn and some characters who are kinda like the Birds of Prey".

Which is pretty sad considering this actually looks really good. Cathy yan is very talented, and I think deserves to be given a chance.

I speculated on another thread that the other sirens - Selena and Pamela - may be unavailable due to the Reeves reboot. And Babs may be as well, explaining her absence in a Birds of Prey film.

This is the first DCEU trailer since the JL first look SDCC trailer that I didn't instantly hit the replay button. Something is so off about this trailer. I don't think Huntress & Black Canary belong in the Harley world at all. Happy for those who love the feel of it, but this is probably a one time watch for me at the theater.

Dead Pigs has mostly been praise, but I really need to see it for myself to have proper expectations for this. Wish it will be released not only on festivals.
