Birds of Prey Birds of Prey General Discussion and Speculation

Hair braided just on the side > Buzzcut on the side?

A for real look either way and ready for some for real talks she'll give Harley in the film no doubt. Tell Harley she be trippin and to get it together.

Movie looks really tight, tonally consistent and unique. Really looking forward to this R rated dark comedy vibe of it

the only thing that throws me off is Robbie’s overly done and over the top harley voice/accent. It’s just too much and was annoying as hell in the trailer. How she was in suicide squad was better

i truly believe this film is gonna be fantastic and i cant wait! And we don't have to wait that much longer.

Margot Robbie on the Liberation of Going R-Rated with Harley Quinn in 'Birds of Prey'

We heard this was an origin story, so I’m curious for you to just talk about kind of how it is Harley’s origin and story and maybe what it is that’s making this team come together.

ROBBIE: It’s more of an origin story for the Birds of Prey and how this version of the group might come together in its initial stages. Of course, in the future, it could be built out into the more traditional groupings perhaps or all different versions because people come in and out of the Birds of Prey. Harley is the narrator of the story, a very unreliable, erratic narrator, which is fun, but it also gives, I think, the audience an opportunity to kind of be inside her brain sometimes and see the world through her eyes at times. But really it’s about… I guess you’ll wait and see how well she does or does not get along with the Birds of Prey in the end, but ultimately I think she is not a traditional member of the Birds of Prey.

.............................

Speaking of freedom, but albeit from a different angle, the language that we’ve been hearing is a bit more adult than we’ve been hearing in these films. I’m curious about kind of the openness of that and letting Harley really just go buck wild.

ROBBIE: I did feel like I had to censor myself a lot, obviously to suit a PG rating, and a lot of the characters that exist in the DC world, to be honest, are quite dark. And a lot of them, Huntress for example, have serious childhood trauma, have serious mental illnesses like Harley. But I felt like sometimes you can’t really go as deep with those things if you have to censor yourself. And I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be liberating if we didn’t have to worry about that?’ and really go for it, and then later in the edit kind of find where the tone of movie lies.

Solid pass on this movie.
Most of my friends and I really aren't into, even my hardcore batman villains fan isn't hyped. Then again, most of us were let down by Harley's characterisation in Suicide Squad, so we're not holding much hope for this movie either.

Well, it's a low budget, small scale movie and they have deliberately stayed away from comic book accurate costumes, in favor of everyday clothes.

But,

* John Wick director Chad Stahelski is directing some action sequences (who is also doing the same thing for Black Widow, I bet people are interested in BW movie, so why not this too ?)

* Matthew Libatique is the Cinematographer for this movie, he was Oscar-nominated for Black Swan, and was cinematographer for Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and Venom.

* Visual effects coordinator Aaron Cornwall who did vfx for Aquaman is the special effects coordinator for Birds Of Prey. (also worked on Ant-Man and the Wasp.)

* Daniel Pemberton is the music composer for BoP, who worked on movies like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

* WETA Digital is doing vfx effects for some scenes of the movie.

* Script is by Christina Hodson, who wrote script for Bumblebee, and BOP test screening reports have been positive so far.

So, not bad , Eh ? Maybe it will be entertaining little movie ?
I've always said the movie will probably be good. It's just not what I wanted in a BOP film personally. But I hope does well for DC.
