Birds of Prey Birds of Prey General Discussion and Speculation

"It's very much like the comic books where you pick up in a totally different place, and it doesn't directly link to what happened before," Robbie tells our sister publication Total Film magazine . "But at the same time it's not such a leap that you're like, 'Oh, what's going on?!'"

Robbie: “Tonally, David Ayer’s world looks different to [Birds’] world, which will look different to James’s world," she says. "So, no, there’s not a direct connection. But like the comics, it doesn’t cancel out one or the other.”
Margot Robbie explains how Birds of Prey will relate to Suicide Squad and James Gunn's The Suicide Squad | GamesRadar+

That's exactly the kind of impression I had this past Sunday when I made the post concerning where Batman is/isn't and this just confirms it.

That all shapes up nicely, very nicely.
Im still not sold on the Cassandra cain at all, but we will see where this goes.

They're just riding the negativity wave because Suicide Squad hurt their brains.

But I actually enjoyed SS and it made a lot of money and I feel like my low expectations is going to cause me to enjoy the Birds of Prey movie way more than .... (dare I say it?)
Wonder Woman 1984.

Like yeah I hate that its "origins" of the birds in nonexistant/muted costumes but the trailer looks good. The 30 second teaser recently looks even more promising!

Big fan of McGregor so was looking forward to seeing him bring Black Mask to the big screen for the first time but from what little I have seen of him looks awful imo.

Hope im wrong although this doesn't sound good.

Birds of Prey Box Office Predictions Suggest DCEU’s Lowest Opening
Screenrant regularly posts negative clickbait articles about DCEU movies.

With $63 mil. Budget (lowest budget DCEU movie) , this movie doesn't need to earn huge amount of money at Box Office to be successful, anything above $200 mil. Would be great.

I mean they could have headlined it with "BOP is tracking to be the highest female team R-rated film in cinematic history"

or "BOP is going to earn 5 times more than Charlie's Angels" if they wanna be a bit cynical and compare the female teams

When I brought those up a R-rated BOP movie is actually tracking pretty well in comparison in this field

Yeah , most recent female lead movies (including PG-13 and R-rated) have not earned much at B.O. (with the exception of WW and CM), so if Birds of Prey opens at anywhere near $50 mil (which is what I expect), it's a win.

Could be looking at somewhere like Salt and Oceans 12, might even be higher as already tracking above them

Media as a whole seems to be much harder on DC. I still have my own massive reservations about this movie though, hope im wrong.

I don't know if this poll means BOP is getting a China release or not. If not WB should consider a re-edit if this poll holds any value. The prospect would be really strong there.

They'll just watch it on spy cam by anyway, will probably make half of what Deadpool made there I guess

Looking good, looking good.
So far im hyped for the movie, this all looks very interesting and has potential.
