Um-how is it a spoiler if you're just speculating?

when i'm tired, hungry, it's 2am and I have no money... everything becomes a spoiler in my tea-addled brain.

I was kind of hoping we'd see some ramifications of Civil War on Spider-Man when the event is over before anything drastic happened again... if this is that, then so be it, but I was hoping there'd be a period for some 'normal' Spider-Man stories to play out - nothing that stems from a new power, or a new costume, or a company-wide event.

I hope it's Eddie Brock in the Spider suit. Maybe his attempted suicide offered some level of enlightenment to drive him to take on the Spider-Man mantle. I'd much rather see Brock battling with his demons and wearing the Spidey suit than I would to see Ben Reilly making a return.

Basically, as I've stated MANY times recently, everyone will forget who Spider-Man is, ala the Flash, including Mary Jane. And Peter, for fear of having her attacked, tortured and/or killed by his enemies, will stay away from her.... because he LOVES her that much.

This scenario ensures that nobody will die, Peter yet agains proves to be the self-sacrificing martyr that we've always known him to be, and the Spectre of Spider-Man will once again come between himself and the woman he loves.

As far as who's in the Black Costume, I suspect it will be Peter, but with a lot of speculation on a return of Ben Reilley, who really knows...

bats, that ain't such a bad idea. Well, in respect of how it affects the MJ/Peter dynamic, I think it'd be okay... would certainly make for interesting reading. however if there was a world-wide brain-wipe of his identity, I think that'd just come across as a real half arsed way of solving a problem.

From what joey q said it's not gonna be a mind wipe, there gonna do what stark has done on many an occasion. Oh look there's spidey(ben reily spidey), wait a second that's peter parker...oh well I guess the whole thing was a hoax

Ben should come back but not in black which would be cool to see. It be great if wore then left it leaving it to ben. I love to see them fight again. Ben could become Venom.

though i bet it will be pete in the black...and it be the symbiote...MJ's death...again...will push him over the edge...heck i could see him killing gargan and taking the symbiote back again through his grief.

i like some of the ideas being thrown around here.......but I'd have to say....

Peter said that if anything happened to MJ or Aunt May that he would hold Tony Stark responsible right?

IF MJ or Aunt May or even both were to be killed because of the unmasking thing......and Peter switches sides in Civil War, him and Iron Man would now be enemies. And if Peter has lost everyone he loves, he may as well not care anymore about himself and MAYBE even have some revenge inmind or something along those lines.... and he lets the symbiote in again to sort of even the playing field between him and Iron Man.

It would be cool to see a symbiote powered and angry as **** Spidey throw down with Iron Man wouldn't it? Seriously if you just had the love of your life or basically your mom killed, you'd be in a dark place wouldn't you? Perfect state of mind for a return to the black suit. ALSO Spidey will of course EVENTUALLy see the error of his ways and get rid of the symbiote again, making way for ole Eddie to return.

Frankly I was never a fan of the "unmasking" so if they want to undo it, the sooner the better. Maybe afterwards they can get a writer who may actually remember that Spider-Man's appeal came from a supporting cast and having a life that was something other then, "working off panel, being Spidey all the time, except for bedroom panels with MJ or randomly talking to May". He's a teacher, that should be a GOLD MINE for creating new cast members.

If he has a good reason for wearing black after CW, I'll be for it. I prefer the classic togs which always return, but the black suit was the best alternate he ever got. Surely better than the Iron Spidey thing.

And I actually want to hear that it's sheer "coincidence" that it ties into SM3 from Joe Q himself, just so I can see if the B.S. actually drips from his nose, because he's so full of it. When it comes to Spider-Man, anything the movies do get thrown in. Just look at the webbing. Of course, it's also ensuring MJ's survival. She'd be dead tomorrow without the films. And I know that DC is equally guilty of ****ing their movies, that doesn't make it right.

JQ: Actually, no. We’ve been planning for a “Back-in-Black” story with Spidey for some time now, it’s just serendipitous timing that it will come out around the release of the movie. That said, we¹ll take complete credit for planning it that way.
