I'm telling y'all, they're probably gonna cancel both Black Lightning AND Legends next year. Akil said from the start he only had three seasons worth of story ideas, his wife just signed a big deal with Fox, and again, it's the lowest rated WB produced show on the network.

There are lower-rated shows from CBS but the CW has to have a minimum number of CBS shows at all times. Black Lightning is presently 9th out of 12 shows and yet-to-premiere shows like Legends and the 100 will probably push it farther down that list.

If they're going to cancel his show, I'd rather him stick around on a show like Legends than be lost to us.

The alternative, is to put him in the Outsiders, but then if he's placed in such a show with his daughters, it'll essentially be Black Lighting 2.0. If they're going to cancel the Black Lightning show, but wish to keep one or some of the characters, an ensemble type show is going to need to take place.

Shows do end, but sometimes there's still potential for characters; just look at Ray, Sara, Mick, Snart and Constantine. Granted Legends is just a big bag of fun to some degree, but it's allowed some Arrow offshoots to shine.

Maybe placing Black Lightning characters on Legends is the wrong move, but I wouldn't want their development wasted if I could help it; I'd much rather they move some of them onto another show, more ensemble type, less time travel.

No, I told everyone who would listen that none of the shows would be cancelled this year (except Arrow, which we knew going in). The posts can be found in the Supegirl ratings thread or the Crisis megathread if you care that much.

I knew Legends wouldn't be axed before 100 episodes. After this year they'll need 17 more to hit that number, and all of their seasons thus far have been 16-18 episodes.

I knew Supergirl and Flash won't be cancelled until the original contracts of the lead actors expire, and even then, only if WB is unable to re-sign them.

Nobody in their right mind would think Batwoman would be cancelled, being the #2 overall show and the #1 new show by a country mile.

And I knew Black Lightning would make it through this year because it wasn't announced as a final season before the year started. CW has not cancelled a veteran show without announcing it as a final season beforehand in over six years.

The upfronts are in May. That is when we will find out which, if any, of these shows is on a final season.

I was honestly disappointed by this. I've tried to get into Batwoman, and it just fails me every time.

You're disappointed the show did well?

If you don't like it, just don't watch it. I hated Gotham and Smallville but I didn't root for them to get cancelled.

Im disappointed the show is the way it is, not that it’s been renewed, although I don’t expect Batwoman to have the success that Arrow, Flash or Supergirl have had.

Obviously they wont make any MAJOR changes to the show but...there was an E1 Pierce family...and with the Earths now merged....I hope we see even the tiniest change with that. Of course they already set up E1 Pierce family being pretty similar to Ewhatever the original BL Earth is so they were smart in that regard.

Well it seems like Jen will remember both realities at a minimum, and it could inform some of her disagreements with the family alluded to in the trailer

Honestly I don’t get why Jeff (and Jen) would need to explain the multiverse (and Crisis) to their friends and family - it’s not like they’d know any different, and it’s only (more likely) to cause more confusion than anything else.

Pretty much Jeff would be telling Anissa that she’s his daughter, but she might not actually be his daughter - but she’s his daughter as a doppelgänger or whatever! Overly complicated.

Now I really, really wish Shipp had been in that speed force scene with Ezra and Grant.

He does say it's just footage of them though, so maybe it's just a flashback to the scene from Flash to explain how BL got pulled onto Earth 1. I don't know if Flash 90 would really appear in any other major way though.

If Cicada didnt know about their metas no reason for him to. Either way...cant hunt down every single meta...never made it to Star City lol

We always had that one mystery meta who wasnt created by the Particle Accelerator and Frost so it only makes sense for more to be out there.

I don't know how Cicada could've been Barry's greatest threat when a non-meta should've easily been able to take him down. Are they saying that someone like Supergirl or Superman would never have been able to stop him?

Also, are the Black Lightning metas the same kind of metas as in Flash, or do they just use that term but they're actually of a different kind?

Metas are all the same in that they’re more than human. The difference is in how they gained their abilities.

Some metas gained their powers through the particle accelerator explosion, some via green light (a chemical) and others through means of other experiments, be that chemical, or biological etc.

As for whether DeVoe would’ve hunted them down too - there’s nothing to say he didn’t, at least in this new universe. We saw only what came before of old, there’s no doubt a lot of what’ll happen going forward that’ll need an explanation or flashback to cover certain things.

Someone said it somewhere about whether Jefferson had been active long before Oliver Queen, but we don’t know that he did. Again, history has quite likely been changed. Jefferson may not have become Black Lightning until after the particle alteration explosion (for all we know).

The showrunners have already said The Outsiders were always part of their plan and The Outsiders have always been closely associated with Black Lightning stories in the comics.

"The thing that's gonna be really, really interesting at some point is that there will be, we will on some level be like a super hero team down the line. So it will be like our own little very small version of The Outsiders."

I'd rather see Batwoman establish its own supporting characters first. The show is still too new.

Black Lightning is 3 seasons in and they have Thunder, Lightning, and Gambi as established sidekicks/combatants.

Batwoman should establish Bette Kane/Flamebird and Renee Montoya first.
