So supposedly Superman was going to wear the black suit en be 'bad' Superman untill the motherboxes were destroyed. Then he would beat the crap out of Steppenwolf.

That would so be up my alley! But I'm pretty sure that's the reason 90% of this movie was reshot because most people just wanted a happier, popsickel coloured Superman.

I'm also pretty sure that if black bad Supes was the case, he would have a litte redemption arc in the last 10 to 15 minutes of the movie. My guess would be that the cornfield scene would be seen around that time.

The VFX guys says the black suit and longer haired Superman was never in the cards since day one. Which is ridiculous. Shame we didn't get it.

It would have been a sweet idea.
Having Steppenwolf be the one who Resurrects Superman and all that, afterall you already had the death of superman in the DCCU...would have made sense to also do his return like that.

It would also have fitted the tone of a world without THE Superman is a world without hope better.

But BvS and JL allude to Superman's death and the MB's have some connection.
in BvS a future Flash warnes Bruce of Superman becoming evil. So if this was a first draft would the destruction of the MB's snap back Supes morality of or does Batman make sure Lois would? That would also give Lois something more to do than we got to see.

Why on earth would Whedon otherwise have reshot almost every Superman scene when everybody knows there's no time for the mustache thing?

Maybe few SFX guys would know about the black Superman because this was 'a secret' to be kept untill it hit theaters? Why else would Cavil post a black suit on his instagram (or a BW photo hinting at it).

There were even toys based on black Superman.

In another rumour Superman was supposed to go back to the scoutship/fortress and retrieve a new suit. Would this be a new red/blue suit or a black suit?

That manip is awesome. I truly believe that Superman's scenes were mostly with a black suit, hence why they needed to do so much reshoots.

Having read more online yesterday, I don't think that Superman was going to be bad the entire movie untill the MB's are destroyed. I think that this would be an alternate timeline. The one Bruce has a nightmare of and tries to prevent.

Then a 'race' starts to get to Superman before Steppenwolf. And a fight ensues, JL actually holding of Steppenwolf and retreat with the body.

The more I think about what could have been,
the more I get upset with WB for all of these changes.

A black-suited/bearded Superman would have been amazing
and refreshing. The story, also, would have been more interesting
if it was Steppenwolf who was planning to resurrect Superman.

JL was such a missed opportunity.
My enjoyment of the film remains, but man... WB really messed up.
