Blade 4

I would love to hear opinions on what people think about a 4th movie, becuase if they are going to stop making blade movies, i pray to god that they at least make one more, and end it on a high note, i like how i heard someone say that the last one (Blade Trinity) seems like they made it a "Disney" version, it was really bad, and to top it off he freakin kills drake by simply stabbing him with the damn arrow, get rid of the sidekicks, somehow make whistler live, and throw in morbius and Dracula, and make it the ultimate ending to one of the best superhero sagas made...any opinions or news relating to this would be great...

With the Blade: TV series coming out this summer, it's very unlikely there will be a Blade 4. Plus, Wesley Snipes is getting older, and there was controversy between him and Goyer.

If the Blade series turns out to be a hit, Kirk Jones would probably take over the role in any future big screen projects.

Which is a shame, because I believe Snipes should've been able to hand off the reins in a better movie than Trinity.

i heard the TV movie that starts off the show is surpose to be Blade 4. then leads into the show. and your right any new hollywood movies would problly have the new guy in them.

Well here's hoping the series is a huge hit (with good reasons) if not... expecting to see Blade on the big screen won't happen anytime soon, let's say 10 to 15 years give or take. :(

Plus...Snipes seems to be only doing straight to DVD movies these days.....sooo sad. :(

Blade Trinity needed someone like Ronny Yu or Antoine Fuqua! That woulda been hot fiyah!!

They should make Blade 3 and pretend Trinity doesn't exist.

lets not forget to include MoonKnight and resurrecting Stephen Norrington.

You got that one right in my mind Trinity was just a bad dream and it never happened.

What pissed me off was that the vamps go pretty depowered. How comes a normal girl can beat all those vamps?

I agree. I've said so in other posts. Another crime of Trinity was the lack of even mentioning the fallout among the Vampire Council/Nation following the events of the first two films.

I'm assuming that Danica Talos resurrected Drake to take control of the Vampire Nation after Damaskinos, but that was never explained in the film if I recall.

The Vampire politics-part. in Blade 1-was one of the things that gave the vampires depth and made them unique and more realistic.

Here's hoping that the TV show will go back into the Vampire politics with the House of Chthon stuff.

I love the blade movies. I would really love to see a 4 made. I doubt it, but i would hope so. Im not too sure about the show. What channel is it being showed on anyway? If its on basic TV it will get toned down and I think that will kill the feeling of the series. When does it premier? End of june? Ill watch but I dont know for how long.

I would love to see the vampire council back. Blade 3 IMO was good but the villian wasnt good enough. If you are the strongest vampire, why would you run from blade and hide behind a baby? That makes no sense to me. I feel he should have dominated blade. The villian in 2 was far more menacing than the villian in 3.

I agree with what you said about Drake. Dracula/Dagon is supposed to be the KING, he should've beat the hell out of Blade and forced Blade to rethink his approach. And perhaps come up with another way to defeat Drake than the basic same approach he used on Frost and to some extent Nomak.

I don't think Trinity was all that good however. It did have a few nice scenes, but not enough plot, and misdirection soured me on the film.

There was a recent interview in Men's Fitness I think, that it had Wesley saying that his Blade days were over, but he did wish the TV show good luck. He also said he was still working on a Black Panther project.

The premise was good. The whole group with Biel, Reynolds and co. was a good idea IMO, but the execution is where the movie failed. Im surprised the series even survived for 3 incarnations. I would had rather New line delay the movie and made it better. Same story but add more content. The dracula character was certainly something to laugh at.

They should bring back the blade 1 villian somehow and make a blade 4.

I don't quite agree with you. I largely thought Jessica Biel was eye candy that added nothing to the film except to make the vamps look even weaker when she could easily defeat them while trip-hopping on her IPOD. And also to take screentime away from Blade or Drake.

Hannibal King was okay. I liked the contrast with Blade. But both he and Abigail needed to be in a more sidekick capacity instead of getting damn near equal screentime as Blade.

As for the plot, there wasn't much of one. It was like several strands that didn't really come together into a cohesive storyline that was going somewhere.

I liked how Talos outed Blade to the real world and the FBI broke him out. But that angle faded away after the Nightstalkers sprung him.

Drake was resurrected, but it was never really explained why or what he planned to do. I am assuming they wanted to use his blood or genetics to become Daywalkers-which has been the vamp goal in the previous movies, but it was never spelled out.

And then the vamps seemed to sit on their hands quite a bit. If the Daystar virus was a major issue for the vamps, which it should've been, then I think their hunt for it should've been more front and center. It just came up sort of as an afterthought, when really it should've been as central to Trinity as the mutant cure in X-Men 3 was.

Then the Daystar virus, the blood banks with the people encased-those things were interesting. But it all could've been fleshed out more. I wish that the virus would've been fatal to Blade as well.

I think its a good idea to have someone hunt with Blade. I liked that idea. I heard there was supposed to be a spinoff movie of the nightstalkers. That is probably why they gave them so much screentime. It more of a set up for the next movie. I even heard that snipes was upset about that.

Yeah, I think Goyer wanted to use Trinity as a launching pad for the Nightstalkers franchise which was a mistake IMO.

I didn't have a problem with setting them up, but not at the expense of robbing Blade of a kickass finale. That's what I think happened.

Besides King, and maybe Abigail, the rest of the Nightstalkers were fairly lame, and a bit cliche. Even Scud, whom I detested in Blade 2, seemed more capable than the Stalkers. I think it would've been better to go full circle and bring back the Karen Jenson character-with the original actress or a recast. It would've been nice to see her again. She really knew how much Whistler meant to Blade and could've helped him cope with that, or maybe...just maybe get him to talk about it.

But the way things went down even Abigail didn't seem all that phased at her dad's murder. And Blade's period of grief was a little too short. I liked how it was done in the first movie, with him thinking of Whistler when he was tearing through Frost's troops.

There was some tension on set, and Snipes wound up suing either Goyer or New Line. That's one of the reasons he wasn't on the commentary of the DVD I believe.

The idea of Blade being hunted would be great. It was alluded to in Blade 2 with the Bloodpack. But it would be nice to see the law on Blade's ass, and perhaps a really ruthless vampire stalking him, perhaps somebody like Selene from Underworld or taking the vampire Night Terror from the Blade comics.

I personally would've liked Dracula to be brought back-not in a tomb, but perhaps from self-imposed exile-in an attempt to rebuild or reunify the Vampire Nation. And his first order of business is to take that virus and re-engineer it by combining it with his pure blood or whatever and turning it right back on the humans. Creating the bloodtide that Deacon Frost failed to do.

I would've perhaps based him a little more on the historical Vlad Tempes. Except adding a Crusade mission or an attack on the Ottomon Empire that resulted in him seeking/drinking the pure blood of Dagon, the first vampire. He became the leader of the vampires for a while, but then mysteriously disappeared. I do like how Trinity said that Drake was bored by humanity and took a deep sleep.

Perhaps it is news of the virus that brings him out of 'retirement'.

I would've change Danica Talos to Elizabeth Bathory. She and Dracula used to hang together back in the day, and she might've had a thing for him. She has become obssessed with finding him. Believing him the only one capable of putting the vampire nation back together.

Vlad, after drinking Dagon's blood, has shape shifting abilities, etc. like Bram Stoker's Dracula. No other vamp has that. He was something of an anomaly. And with each succeeding generation, they lost powers. Blade is something of a throwback. And Vlad is fascinated by him. Feels a strange affinity with him. There would be more of a connection between the two. He might see Blade as something of a brother, and actually try to convince him to embrace his vampire 'gift'.

More like a ****ing nightmare, especially to us fans.

I would love to see a Blade 4 with ,like others have said, Morbius and Dracula but i highly doubt it.

I've been seeing alot of clips of the Blade tv series they're showing on Spike and i must say it's starting to impress me. I was one of the first people to cringe at the thought of a Blade tv series without Snipes, even more so that Kurt 'sticky' Jones was playing him but like i said, i'm starting to have hope for the show with what i've seen and read in various places. I even saw a tv spot with Blade 'ashing' a vampire in mid air which looked pretty cool, effects-wise, for a tv show.

The creators have said that this new series is going to start off with a movie, then it will go into the series.
I still can't get used to the no fro thing, where is his pointy fade?

The bald head doesn't bother me. I think it will help Kirk stand out more from Wesley, and go a long way visually to making Blade his own.

I'm more concerned about Kirk's voice and demeanor. Whether he comes across kickass or blah.

your'e right he does have that certain voice that sticks in your head, he could possibly change the way it sounds though.

I wish Michael Jai White was the next Blade.
He is the only person who has that voice and is a martial artist.

Oh well, I like Kirk as Blade and I'll give it a chance, but i hate his voice.

My only issue with Michael Jai White is his acting ability. He has the look, the body, the voice, and possibly the movies. Even the hair. :) But I wonder about his acting.
