Blade reboot coming???

I don't get where all this fandom and love for Jai White comes from. He's not that good! Spawn was a terrible movie.

Granted MJW is not the best actor, but he has a great build, a great voice and presence, and I think he could've carried off portraying Blade-in the acting and martial arts department way more convincingly than Kirk Jones.

I also agree with you that Spawn sucked. But I lay that blame more on McFarlane and the behind-the-scenes people than the Spawn cast.

And do what exactly? The last movie only came out less than 3 years ago. They just did the series. So they did three movies and a TV series. What else can they really do? The franchise died with the third movie, the series failed to revive it.

There's not much else to do with Blade right now. You can play as him in Ultimate Alliance or Friend or Foe though.

I think there's still plenty that can be done with Blade. There's a lot to explore with the character-in both the movies and TV versions. Esp. since the TV version ended on a cliffhanger.

Blade's only a good interpretation or re-interpretation away from being hot again.

I'm a member on the board over there and this particular user has been accurate and given me information well in advance before... back when comic book film sources were still reporting about a sequel to Hulk, he knew Marvel wanted to re-boot it, also knew the same about Punisher.. I've never seen him report something false... but like the article says - treat it as a rumor for now. Other sources were starting to pick up on this, so I guess we can discuss here now as well.

This news sounds great! I'm a fan of everything blade. Hopefully they'll model the movies around Blade 1, or something new. Not that del Toro hocus pocus crap! Although I do watch it from time to time.

As for casting i'm not sure how I feel about Wesley coming back. He's kinda old, and i've read so much about his attitude on set. It makes me bitter and takes me out of the movie. But maybe he's more humble now that his career is over.

I thought Kirk Jones very much looked the part on the show for me. But his voice is what didn't do it for me. It was like he was trying to scream while whispering. Wierd. Maybe that's why Blade only got ten minutes an episode.

I think I heard on one of the Blade DVD's somewhere that David Fincher(Fightclub), was originally supposed to direct the first one. Anyways I think this is the direction Marvel should go in. But only if they got Andrew Kevin Walker to write it. Get out your check book Marvel and give them WHATEVER they need!!!

There are very few characters that I cannot imagine another actor portraying...but Blade is one of them. I'll give anyone a chance but Snipes was just perfect in every way.

Agreed! Part of it has to do with him being cast in The Dark Knight as a mob leader. Personally Spawn sucked balls, he was in some sequel to Universal Solider I think, DTV(nuff said) and a dumb Jerry Springer movie.

Personally, I wouldn't want to replace Snipes, I thought he was perfect for the role. If he must be replaced I say get someone kinda unknown.

But those movies didn't suck directly because of him. They were just bad movies. And at least White can still manage to be cast in films that actually see theatrical release (he's in Why Did I Get Married?), something that Snipes hasn't been able to do in years. If you exclude the Blade films, he hasn't done anything of merit, theatrically, since 2000's The Art of War, a film that, while I personally enjoyed it, it didn't exactly set the box office on fire.

I have to agree to disagree I guess. Although those movies were crap I just don't think he can act regardless other than the token type. That's why im waiting for TDK, if he changes it up (although that will be a small role) I might change my mind about him. He just needs to pick much better roles to prove that he can act, if he really can.

Hey guys I need some help. I've seen the alternate ending with Morbius for Blade 1 before. But I can't remember where. I've checked all the special features on my dvd, but can't find it. Is there another version with more features that I don't have? Any help would be appreciated.

If anything needs to be rebooted/reimagined/remade/whatever the hell you want to call it, its Daredevil. Blade comes second. This is becoming a trend with marvel, first Hulk, then Punisher, then Spider-Man.

More like 9, it hasn't quite been 10 years yet. I'm not sure when Michael Jai White became a credible actor all of the sudden.

Robert DeNiro = credible actor.

Matt Damon = credible actor.

Joan Allen = credible actor.

Blade 2 was my favorite, but Blade was awesome too. Blade Trinity had a great beginning then turned to mush.

Leave the series as is. There is no need for a reboot or retooling. Hell, not even Hulk needed it. Batman was an extreme case and now they're doing it for anything that had a mildly dissapointing movie. Blade Trinity was bad but it wasn't Batman and Robin, Catwoman, or even Elektra bad. There is absolutely no need for a reboot. Snipes made the character and the series only enforced this even more.
