Oh, good point. It is never really explained if they age or not. Especially if Deckard may be the Nexus 7.
No, you are the one being selective here. Blade Runner music isn't subtle. No old characters were the main characters in Rogue One either. So how is that a comparison? I was hit over the head if my favorite things with this trailer. The music, the look, Deckard, his gun, the reference to the first movie's case. They even used classic dialogue so I would "member Blade Runner".You selectively ignored my entire post around it. I have a bigger point. It doesn't look like a movie about Deckard or even a mystery that revolves around him. It actually looks like this scene happens in the first act and there's something much bigger happening we don't know about yet. Everything here served a purpose. It raised questions but didn't feel mysterious for mystery sake.
Plus, with Johnassen we're in for something special too. I didn't mind the Vangelis stuff at all, and it was subtle. It wasn't hitting you over the head with your favorite things, as those things seemed to help serve to subvert our expectations. It seems to know people don't remember the original film and is marketing it as just a new movie. They're being very smart about this and I'm optimistic that this is representative of the film.

Doing a quick google search, I haven't found any evidence if it was ever addressed if the Replicants can age like humans or not.
I have seen theories about Nexus 7, and if Deckard is that, maybe that explains his aging. They were built to age like humans. Unless this is a completely new Deckard replicant built to look older.
I think it looks fantastic, and I love my nostalgia as long as it is good. This film is definitely a product of the whole Nostalgia/Member Berries era we are in. IMHO that doesn't mean it will be bad. But we shall see.

I think it looks good as well. At the same time, I never felt like the original needed a sequel either. It's almost kind of like making a sequel to Brazil or Twelve Monkeys IMHO.
Scott said Replicant, Ford said human. I don't remember if Replicants were suppose to age or not, but if he is one, that is a long expiration he has.
Replicants all have a 4 year lifespan. So unless Tyrell corp makes child replicants I don't think they would age noticeably.
I agree it doesn't need a sequel. It is the main reason I am surprised they have included Deckard. I thought this would be a completely unrelated sequel.I think it looks good as well. Likewise.
Man this was a great little teaser trailer. The imagery, the music. The team that is on board for this is amazing. Very excited for this.

I always like to think of him as human, but Gaff poses an interesting dilemma.Yeah it really never goes into that. Mainly they may age just they only have 4 years after their incept date.
My theory is he is a Nexus 7, and is the true "experiment, nothing more." It never really flat out says if Rachel is a Nexus 6 or 7 either. So some of the theory is that the two of them are both Nexus 7. But my theory is at least that Deckard is the latest newest version that Tyrell is messing around with, what way to make something seem more non-Replicant by by making one actually an exterminator of them.
So has Ridley Scott changed his view, or is Deckard just a new special Replicant?

Well here goes our friendship.I'm team replicant!!!! 4LIFE!!!![]()

Well here goes our friendship.
4LIFE, because a 4 year life span. Its all so clear now.![]()
The purpose of the 4 year lifespan was to prevent the replicants from developing emotions and eventually get mad at the fact that they're essentially slaves. I doubt Tyrell would see a need to put the 4 year life span in the animal replicants like the snakes and owls. So I wonder if those animals can die of old age.It never says Tyrell Corp does not make child replicants they very well may. Just like the Snake and all the other artificial things they are genetically made in lots of ways. So aging very well could be a feature to a point. Maybe not from a child to an adult but just flesh etc.
