Deckard isn't a very likable character, but I don't think he was really meant to be. In some ways Batty is more sympathetic than him.

Well it's not really about likable or not, he wasn't very interesting and Ford looked bored as hell. He played quite a few unlikable characters but never with this little impact on the movie

I agree with this so, so very much. I do not like Ford's performance in Blade Runner. At all.

New trailer tomorrow?

Tell me you are being sarcastic :loco:
I'm being facetious, but as somebody who thinks Blade Runner is the greatest film ever made, whilst simulataneously regarding Tom Hardy as the most overrated actor in existence, there's an iota of truth to it.

Yeah well, Tom Hardy gave one of the greatest performances by any actor in existence in Bronson. Ford is an icon, and he's never even come close to a performance that good. And I say that as someone who LOVES Ford.

since when is Ford one of the best actors ? Of course Hardy acts the sh... out of Ford. :)

Ford's best performances are Indiana Jones, Richard Kimble, and Han Solo.

Exclusively in that order.

That... doesn't make a lot of sense.

Hardy and Ford are two very different actors. Of course the latter hasn't done anything like Bronson and why would he need to? He's a classic Hollywood leading man, whereas Hardy is more a character actor in a leading man's body using that image in subversive, abstract and odd performances and movies.

I'd add Witness to that list too.

I might add Frantic to the list. Not sure what it is but Ford manages to use his leading man image in a kind of pathetic, in-over-his-head sort of way.

Kind of impressive.

He's done films like Regarding Henry where he's branched out a bit more. But my point was simply that Hardy is a phenomenal actor and far from "overrated."

I get that. I jus found the comparison of those two actors weird.

Yeah, I mean, they're very different. Hardy could go the traditional leading man route like Ford but I'm glad he hasn't because he's so much better when he's playing someone who is a bit... off.

Tom Hardy is a terrific actor who's being typecasted for this mumbling, grumpy roles and I think that ruins his image for some people. For me, he was great in some of those roles (Lawless, Peaky Blinders, TDKR), but you should watch Bronson and Locke to see him unlock his full potential.
