Ryan Gosling during his promo tour for The Big Short. Good ole WB. Can't let a man speak on a project. :o

And you’re involved with Blade Runner 2 at this point.
Yes.

How far along are you in terms of, have you seen the script and do you know where things are at for your character?

I do. They put a chip in me and I’ll explode if I say any more, but I’m very excited about that.

The original Blade Runner's F/X effects owe much to extensive model works. The opening scene was credited to none other than Douglas Trumbull of 2001, Andromeda Strain, Close Encounter fame.

The image quality of those photos are amazing. They look like they were shot yesterday.

Roger Deakins gives update on BR2.http://deadline.com/2016/01/roger-deakins-sicario-cinematographer-editor-oscars-1201675882/

Sicario is your second film with Denis and you’re early in the process of your next collaboration with him, the Untitled Blade Runner Project that has everyone very excited. How was the shorthand between you evolved over the course of three films?

When you get to know somebody and become friends, you can be a little bit more open and maybe a little bit more abrupt about something. I don’t know. We’ve been storyboarding for the last couple of weeks and scouting already for this film that shoots next summer. I’m glad to say we’re going to do a lot prep. It’s good. It’s just a much more familiar, relaxed and open conversation we can have, and a really good one, I think. Well, it is for me, anyways.

Glad they are giving themselves a good amount of prep time.

'Blade Runner' sequel: Sony nabs international rights http://bit.ly/1PwMSiv

Sony Pictures has come on board for international distribution on Alcon Entertainment’s “Blade runner” sequel.

Warner Bros. Pictures is distributing in North America and Canada through its output agreement with Alcon.

Denis Villeneuve is directing the film, starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, who is reprising his role as Rick Deckard. Hampton Fancher (co-writer of the original) and Michael Green have written the original screenplay based on an idea by Fancher and Ridley Scott.
The story takes place several decades after the conclusion of Ridley Scott’s iconic 1982 original — which was set in a 2019 Los Angeles, and based on the Philip K. Dick short story “Do Andorids Dream of Electric Sheep?”
Alcon Entertainment acquired the film, television and ancillary franchise rights to “Blade Runner” in 2011 from the late producer Bud Yorkin and Cynthia Sikes Yorkin to produce prequels and sequels to the iconic science-fiction thriller. Cynthia Sikes Yorkin will produce along with Johnson and Kosove. Bud Yorkin will receive producer credit.

Frank Giustra and Tim Gamble, CEO’s of Thunderbird Films, will serve as executive producers. Ridley Scott will also executive produce.
The film marks Villenueve’s third collaboration with 13-time Oscar nominee Roger Deakins, who will serve as cinematographer, following Alcon’s “Prisoners” and “Sicario,” which brought Deakins his latest Oscar nomination.
Principal photography on the yet-to-be-titled sequel is scheduled to begin in July.

Sony Pictures Tom Rothman said in a statement: “At Sony, we have made a strong commitment to the international marketplace. We know of few projects with greater international potential than the long dreamed of sequel to Blade Runner, especially given the all-star creative team Andrew and Broderick have assembled. We are deeply grateful to everyone at Alcon, Denis and Ridley for entrusting us with such a gift. Working on a Blade Runner film also fulfills a long-time personal ambition, as I deeply love and admire the original.”

I heard some online rumors Amy Adams is in this. Is it true?

The only online "rumour" is me. I was the one on this thread who put 2+2 of Amy and Ryan having dinner and got 5. :funny:

In other news Amy Adams and Ryan Gosling were pictured having a meal together. Now I maybe putting 2+2 and getting 5 but it might be for Blade Runner. I did say previously Denis Villeneuve likes to recycle cast/crew and he and Amy did work together over the summer http://celebrityhive.com/ryan-gosli...use-in-beverly-hills-november-4/ryangosling2/.:sly:

Cast pregnant Blunt and make the baby an android. Done. Pay me.

Title: Untitled Blade Runner Project (aka Blade Runner 2) Category: Feature Film Genre: Sci-Fi / Drama Shoot Date: July, 2016 Location: UK Hungary Story: The film is about an ex-detective hunting down and eliminating a team of humanoid androids that had escaped from an outer space mining company several years later after the conclusion of the 1982 original.

Interesting, very interesting.

Blunt casting speculation/hope is no more.

She is a baby mamma again.

Congrats to her and it leaves Amy in prime position if Denis feels like recycling. :sly:

I still hope to see a female Blade Runner in this movie. It'd sure make an interesting change for her.

Pfft, I want him to cast Megan Fox or give Gigi Hadid a shot at acting. :gngl:

I like your thinking.

To be honest me and Sam are messin' with each other. Chances are if Amy or Emily were in it we'd be hearing it right about now or heck even a rumour about it. The only reason either one of us are mentioning those two is because they're the last two leading actresses he's worked with and he usually likes to recycle cast and crew.

Roger Deakins interview and he gives a few updates on BR2. There's a video in the link.

  • Blade Runner 2 talk. Says will probably shoot in digital but no IMAX.

  • Shooting in mid-summer. He’s been working with Denis Villeneuve on and off for the last few months storyboarding.

  • The pressure of stepping into the Blade Runner universe. “It’s a film that will stand by itself. It’s 30 years on from the original, but we’re making a film that is its own film.”

  • Says the fan enthusiasm for his involvement in Blade Runner 2 makes him more nervous.

Surely if there is any actress that is a fit for Blade Runner it's Rooney Mara.

Do we have any synopsis or plot details

Prosser posted this news a few day's ago. MEW is a semi reliable site for production updates. So i guess the synopsis will be more or less similar.

Thanks for the heads up, so how does HF's character feature in this, i heard it was a bit part at the end? Gosling looks an obvious choice to carry on the torch.
