I don't if this has been been discussed before...but I went 6 pages in and saw no thread...so I thought I'd start one.

I LOVE Blade Runner, it's one of my favorite films(with the narration). So naturally I was a little apprehensive about a new sequel(or prequel?). But, knowing it will be Ridley Scott made feel a little better. I don't think Rick Deckard will be back(it's probably for the best, because it won't be Harrisin Ford and I don't want to see him re-cast).

So, I'm thinking a new character. I think there's two ways they could do this:(1.) A rookie Blade Runner who has yet to develop any sympathy about "retiring" replicants. (2.) Or, another older veteran Blade Runner who has grown weary of killing.

But choice is for the seasoned Vet. And knowing how Directors often like to work with the same actors...my choice is Russell Crowe. I think he could capture the feeling of the original, but bring something new to his character. Plus, he's played a similar part before(L.A. Confidential).

What do you guys think?

This is my wish:

A different story that has nothing to do with the Deckart one, set some 20 years after it with (then detective, now) Commissioner Gaff

Gaff wasent really characterized at all throughout the film. I would like to see another flick about an older Blade Runner, a veteran who is done with all the killing. Russel Crowe would be an excellent choice, since he likes to work with Ridley.

Sorry about...but I guess I not the only one who had trouble finding it.:csad:

As for Gaff...I hope not, I didn't like his character.
Yeah, i only knew there was another page because i remember when it was being discussed, i also remember there being another thread for the anouncement of Blade Runner 2 or christopher Nolan on Blade Runner 2, but i sincerelly dont have the patience to look for it :oldrazz:

Anyways, is this film OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED yet? I don t think so. Last zhing I heard was still speculation.

I'm with ya...that's tone of Blade Runner, it's the style. And yes, it has been officially announced and Ridley has signed on.:yay:

^^^
Is that for real??? If so, an absolutely awesome find...

Well the voice over certainly was terrible.

I hope Ridley forgets this sequel bullcrap.

Yes, I have absolutely no faith in Ridley Scott to make a film that even comes close to original. It would be a miracle to just be a good science fiction movie.
