I always wondered what it would be like if they remade "Blade Runner", the 1980's sci-fi movie starring Harrison Ford. What you like to see a remake? Do you think it would be successful at the box office?

NO, Blade Runner was great and does not need to be re-made. Remaking movies is getting way out of hand.

I think you can be arrested in certain places for saying such things

You know what should be remade?
Old movies that have sucky effects...or old stories that are great but had cheezy acting because of the times, etc.

Blade Runner is a visual masterpiece. The acting is perfect.
It's like in the Top 10 "Movies that don't ever need to be remade".

Uh, you don't see the big deal period, apparently. Have you explored the idea that you may not actually be a sci-fi fan?

i like plenty of sci-fi films, mr. upside down tiger face... this one just did nothing for me.

Exactly. What's next, remake Star Wars? Raiders of the Lost Ark? Big Trouble in Little China?

Cool. I feel myself bad, because I bought piratic DVD edition of it :(

Why I did it?

I saw BR only one time, when I was a kid, so I can't remember anything clearly now.

The worser thing is that in my country there is no quality DVD edition of this movie, so I was able to buy only piratic disc with very bad screening and no bonus part.

Thank god, this disc was very cheap, so now I will wait for SE, which is going to be released in winter :)

I never saw it on big screen so I would welcome a chance to see it. I have the dvd and it was a good sci-fi movie. Loved the settings and just the overall cinematic feel it had.

This is a classic film that should not be remade. Blade Runner really was ahead of its time, and I find it rather disheartening and disenchanting that someone would suggest that it be remade.

It would really be improper and undignified to remake something that was so good the first time it was made.

I haven't been able to watch it in it's entirety.

Let's remake it with Ashton Kutcher in the Harrison Ford role!
And Queen Latifah as Rutger Hauer!
And System of a Down can do the Soundtrack!
Yeah!

Blade Runner is NOT for everyone.

Personally, I like the movie..it's that I can't watch it everyday. However, I don't anyone can outdo the production design and cinematography on that sucker.

To this very day, Blade Runner visually has made an impact on other movies/games/comics (Final Fantasy VII for example), and even without CGI, it still looks damn good.

glad i'm not the only one who was bored watching this movie. i'm sure a lot of people love it for various reasons, but i hadn't seen the movie until around 2 years ago and when i did i was thinking to myself "other than the visuals and effects, what's so special about this film?"

Like what? Lost In Space? Independence Day? Men In Black?

dang, i guess some people just can't accept other people's opinions...

...also, those movies you just named might not be considered masterpieces like Blade Runner is but they're visually more stimulating imo.....yes, even Lost in Space.

I have to admit, Blade Runner is really really slow, as much as I like it. And I don't like the music for odd reason. I'm all for synthasizers but the score made the movie move even slower than it should.

No, this was a special case 'cause I've never seen him like anything.
Whatever movie you're talking about, I've only seen him go "I don't see what the big deal is."
Like, if you don't like Empire Strikes Back, and you don't like Star Wars, and you don't like Blade Runner...I just can't imagine a Sci-Fi fan not liking any of those.
If a person hates Sci-Fi, then of course they won't. So I honestly wondered if he just doesn't like Science Fiction.
