BLADE RUNNER: 25th Anniversary DVDs Thread

Went to Best Buy to pick up the briefcase, but they didn't get any Blu-Ray. Only HD and regular DVD. :cmad:

I think I wanna buy it, Can someone give a list of films that if I liked it I would like Blade Runner.

pretty much anything Philip K Dick. (like Minority Report, A Scanner Darkly)
The Matrix
Dark City

I'm sure others can help me out here.

Well I love all for of those movie so, I think I have to get this now.

It's just I've never bought a movie without seeing it before I bought it. ( Except for Super Troopers)

I saw it for the first time in college, and to be quite honest, I didn't really get it. Now it's in my top 10 of all-time. I can't say it's definitely going to grow on you if you don't like it at first, but keep it in mind if you can. I think it's one of those films that requires multiple viewings.

Haven't seen the Final Cut though, which is what I probably recommend watching first.

Thanks

I find it funny that oyu saw it the first time in college, I'm a freshman in college.

Awesome. Come to think of it, I might've been a freshman. No later than a sophomore. I'm 25 now, and I've seen the movie at least five times. Gets better with every viewing.

Really looking forward to the other four versions of the film, though, since I've only seen the '92 Director's Cut.

I snagged a copy of the briefcase at Best Buy for 60 bucks, instead of 70.

I'm definitely watching it when I get off work.

My dad is kind of aware that there is a Final Cut, so hopefully he'll be getting one of the three versions soon.

i've seen this once, about a year ago, and didn't care for it particularly. i mean, it wasn't bad, but i never got the love, at all.

i might have to netflix this new version and see how it tickles me.

I think there's an appriciation for Blade Runner because it was so ahead of it's time, and it was overlooked during it's release.

I like Blade Runner. I LOVE the visuals. I wouldn't want to watch it everyday, but I dig it.

I love Blade Runner, I'm going to make sure to get a copy of the 25th Anniversary DVD.

So Blade Runner was before it's time, like 2001: A space odyssey, which I have to see as well.

the reason i love blade runner is because your interpretation of the aspects in the film change after the film is over.

I take it The Final Cut has Deckard's narration? Or is that just the Director's Cut?

narration was only in the original theatrical cut, which not many people liked. The Final Cut is pretty much the Director's Cut but touched up and reedited in a few spots

Oh ok. Which release contains the theatrical cut?

What do I do if I already own the Director's Cut?

up to you, but personally I'm replacing it, with a Blu-Ray copy but if you're a fan of the movie as much as I am and don't have either Blu-Ray or HD DVD I would replace your copy with the 4 disc DVD set which actually doesn't have the workprint cut it seems
