Introducing "Episode Mode."

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle will have an original story mode called “Episode Mode,” the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals.

Episode Mode will allow players to enjoy separate stories for each of the game’s four participating titles (BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena, Under Night In-Birth, and RWBY).

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is due out for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC on May 31 in Japan and Asia, and June 5 in North America.

Thanks, Famitsu and Ryokutya2089.

glad there's a story mode.

however, how can you do the RWBY story if only half of RWBY is available in the base game and only 2 RWBY reps in the base game?

that's my biggest issue with making Blake and Yang DLC.

guess we'll just have to find out how they do it......

Kind of surprised that Jubei made the cut from the Blazblue characters.

Aegis!! Yes!!

I wasn't sure if she'd make it, cuz she's from Persona 3 I believe and not P4.

but glad she's in.

Teaser website opened.

Arc-Sys-Works-Teaser_03-30-18.jpg

Arc System Works has opened a teaser website for a mysterious new game.
While title and genre of the game are currently unannounced (that is, according to Arc System Works’ official blog post), the teaser website hints at the genre being an RPG. (The URL contains “rpg_project” and the website itself currently reads, “???????????RPG.”)

Arc System Works will fully announce the title during an “Arc Live 24-Hour Special: The World” broadcast at 0:00 JST on April 1. It will be live streamed on Twitch and Niconico.

(Editor’s Note: Considering this game will be announced on April 1, it is very possible there is no game at all and it is an April Fool’s Day joke from Arc System Works. That being said, we will find out for sure when the day comes.)

it doesn't say if the Collector's Edition includes the Season Pass.

if it doesn't, that's a huge dealbreaker for me. especially if the CE costs $100 or more.

That should be the full roster. Minus Yang, though I think there may be some gameplay floating around, I haven't really checked it out.

EDIT: Found it. Interesting that they are using Armed and Ready instead of I Burn. I wonder if there will be alternate tracks for the RWBY characters.

Well, the Switch CE is $99, so I am out there. Especially since it sounds like the CE's are going to be limited to ASW and Roosterteeth's websites.

And the plus side, I heard a fifth RWBY song in the latest build, so I am excited to get other tracks from them.

Why can't the Switch get a stress test?

played some of the Switch beta.

aside from getting used to the control scheme and mechanics, I had fun just playing around with the various characters. Love the interactions they have with each other, both in the intros ( for some pairs - Ruby and Ragna!!! ) and in the winning text dialogue.

the character models and art style look good, though on the Switch, it suffers from heavy jaggies and pixelation.

I wonder if the PS4/Pro version will run at a higher resolution with smoother character textures. hope so.

oh, and the out of sync speech and mouth movements on the characters is kind of distracting.......lol.

but it's fun and makes me eager for the full release.

I still lament the fact this is on all consoles but the Xbox One.

This is my first true modern fighting game, so I am enjoying learning the mechanics. Also glad I got an arcade stick, as I seem to be able to do the fighting movements easier with it.

Hoping there is a bit greater selection of RWBY music when the game launches. As cool as the combo ones are, I would like some of them to be the full version.

I wish they had included access to the tutorial/practice mode in this beta. but it's a beta, so oh well.

also, I think I had a hard time adjusting because I had to get used to the Switch controls and button layout after having not touched the Switch in a long while.

and as more of a casual (fighting game) player, I don't dislike the more simplified controls and mechanics. but I guess I'm just so used to the "old school" days having played fighting games since SF II.

it does seem like the trend in fighting games is to simplify the controls and mechanics.

The tutorial is there. The training mode, where you can just toy around, isn't.
