Phillip Noyce to Direct BloodSport Remake
Yep, the headline says what you think it says. The 1988 Jean-Claude Van Damme film Bloodsport is going to be remade, and Philip Noyce, who last directed the rather silly film Salt, is going to be behind the camera. Screen Daily says the film will follow “an American who goes to Brazil to recover from the violence he has experienced in Afghanistan who gets involved in a martial arts contest.” Robert Mark Kamen (Taken, Colombiana) will write, and that’s probably a good thing —he’s been through the Luc Besson action wringer

This isn't exactly a remake in my book, mainly because the first was based on Frank Dux and wasn't entirely a work of fiction. It seems they're just banking on the name "Bloodsport".

lol if you ever heard Dux talk you'd realize it is a complete work of fiction. But your point stands and if they are remaking Bloodsport in any way it's best to not give Dux anymore publicity. Thi sis coming from someone who quite liked the original.

i find it hard to beleive they can get a guy as bad ass as this

So did he come out and say that the entire movie was BS? I've never heard him talk before.

Bolo was always badass. I remember him from the original bloodsport, enter the dragon and Double Impact.

Im kinda disappointed this generation hasnt had nearly as many as badass martial arts movies there were then.

Hollywood is running out of ideas fast.

i love the original. one of my fav JCVD films and martial arts film in general.

but really? another damn remake?

no matter what this movie does, it will never spawn anything nearly as epic as this......

sad face is on. I can understand changing the name frank dux, but for F sake keep it the same story. Sure change stuff up, but be: (kid grew up in rough town, is trained by japanese martial art master. on leave from military deployment, wants to compete in kumite . ect) just my opinion, the rest of the subject matter can be mondern, but no MMA cage stuff this isnt never back down

His entire story was BS. The fact that it ever got printed at all is astounding. Bad fact checking on the magazine's end. His military service was not in the spec ops as he claimed and there was no Kumite. still entertaining movie but it is a work of fiction by a compulsive liar.

them taking this to Brazil.....I really really hope they don't make this **** into an MMA thing

Or Only the Strong

Ah yes, good times.

Mark needs to be in Expendables 2, as does JCVD and Bolo.

(Waits for someone to post DVD cover of a movie from Don "The Dragon" Wilson).

omg, you have not seen Only the Strong, watch it and laugh your ass off. :awesome:
Damn....there are no more blockbusters or Hollywood videos to rent from :csad:
