Bond Films

Yeah, I didn't like DAD 's theme. Let alone Halle as the Bond girl.

I can honestly say, as beautiful as Halle is, i haven't liked her in ANY movie....well, maybe in 'Boomerang', but that's it.

Dunno yet.

To add to the DAD bashing; they even ****ed up the gunbarrel in DAD by having Bond fire a bullet into the barrel of the aiming gun.

I mean no offense to her but she was one of the worst Bond girls I thought. Definitely not one of my favorites.

What do yall think Bond 22 will be called? Any clues?

This belongs in the Bond 22 thread. But still, there were rumors that the title would be called simply just "007."

I lost interest when she became a Bond girl. Just wasn't good at all. Cloak Aston Martin was dumb too!

I wouldn't think they'd go simply with "007" I'd like something better and a bit longer.

Well, Craig gave th hint himself in an interview. So we'll see. 007 is fine with me, but if they go for something else that's fine with me too.

Die Another Day wasn't near the worst. The only real issues I have are with the stupid bullet intro and that horrific CG para-sailing bit.

Halle Berry is amusing, and the invisi-car is a bit far-fetched but hardly a dealbreaker. At least it is explained in a quasi-believable way. To me, the dialogue is what makes the movie so much fun. It's bizarre. It's like typical Bond dialogue stylized to the point of insanity. I appreciate it as good camp. I do think it had a pretty good villain, a good villainess, and some great stunts. I also think that the climactic battle in the disintegrating airplane was awesome. It was at least a case of CG aiding the story as opposed to interrupting it. Oh, and the prologue and set-up are Bond-tastic!

As for the worst Bond, Diamonds Are Forever is the obvious choice. Totally dull, badly staged, and thrill-free. Jill St. John and Lana Wood are seizure-inducing sexy, though. Man With The Golden Gun is also pretty lame. View To A Kill is pretty mediocre, albeit a few really good moments. I've always found Living Daylights kind of weak too due to it's dull villains and leading lady. Points for a decent espionage story, though. Not that they count, but Never Say Never Again and the 1967 Casino Royale are pure ass.

The thing that saves The Man with the Golden Gun is that Scaramanga is one of the most interesting villains in the series. Not only is he basically a dark version of Bond, but he actually likes Bond. He just happens to be psychotic and wants to kill Bond because he views him as his biggest challenge as a professional killer. He's easily the most unique villain in the series.

About the new movie's name, I would hope that they use one of Fleming's unused titles, Property Of Lady and Risico come to mind. I'll have to flip through some of the book though, even his chapter titles were great.

I'm sorry but I have to say, you need serious help ;). That scene is awful. Halle and Miranda Frost fighting is passable, mainly because of Rosamund Pike's outfit, but Brosnan fighting RoboCop is one of the most pathetic non-fights ever seen in motion pictures. It is so, so lame.

I'm tempted to stick the fight on YouTube so everyone can see just how poor it is....

I'd say The Man With The Golden Gun is the worst.

Hmm I liked the idea. What else would you do if you had a tone of money and a nice gun. It was nice to see a guy who did not want to take over the world for a change.

Do it, Kev. :woot:

If you can get stop yourself from vomiting enough everytime you witness Toby Stevens' pathetic 'I'm such a bad-guy' perma-sneer and actually post it, my hat is off to you sir.

The worst fight scene I have seen in a Bond film was Sean Conery v the old lady with a knife in her shoe.......

Really lame

Rosa Clebb in FRWL.

Gotta admit, she scared the crap outta me when I was a kid.

Yes and in Austin Powers she seems to be the idea behind Frau.

But still....poor fight scene....old lady with a shoe knife? WTF

Lol, I know what you mean but it's far more menacing when used by Morzeny earlier in film.

Also, Brosnan sniffs her shoe in DAD.

I swear whip lady from Teen Agent (If Looks Could Kill) was based on her.

Anyone see that film by the way. Robert Daltery from The Who is in it.

Well, joining this thread late here's my opinion on Bond. The greatest movie franchise of all-time :)

The best Bond: Sean Connery

- The original charming sophisticated good looking womanizing bad ass ;). I love Roger Moore too, perhaps because of the more comedic element he gave 007 and Pierce Brosnan was also solid. Daniel Craig i was not thrilled about before i saw Casino Royale, but when i did see it i was pleased with the job he did. George Lazenby we wont speak of, he was a terrible Bond in a movie that could have been much better. Timothy Dalton was ok. But nothing beats Sean Connery.

The best movie:

- You Only Live Twice in my opinion is the best movie. This is the movie where we first see Blofeld (Donald Pleasance) this is the movie that so many things parody, with Blofeld being the bald guy holding the white cat and such. The battle in Blofelds lair at the end was cool as hell, even for 40 years ago. Plus this movie had Little Nelly one of Bond's greatest gadgets! Great movie!

I also loved Goldeneye, Goldfinger and License to Kill. Live and Let Die was solid too.

The best Bond Girl:

Honey Ryder (Ursula Andress)! The original. She comes out of the water on the beach of Jamaica and stuns Sean Connery with her beauty.

I also liked Denise Richards as Dr. Christmas Jones in World is Not Enough, Lois Chiles as Dr. Holly Goodhead :) and Halle Berry who was just hot as hell.

I would sssssssooooooo keep that to myself, around here.:word:

Ah, one of my favorite Bond book/movie discrepancies. In the book Rosa stabs bond with a needle during the fight and the book ends with Bond dead, not so in the movie.

Sometimes I just watch the movies for what's different.
