Boondock II: All Saints Day..hell yes!

well, I guess he will be hitting his target demo releasing the Trailer there.

I can't believe this is actually happening. I loved the first film, then saw Overnight and found myself hating Duffy. But I still love the film, and I can only hope he's realized how lucky he is to have gotten a second chance.

Pretty much how I feel, too. Boondock Saints is a cult classic for sure, with great performances all around, a very engaging story and something to say about the American legal system (although it's essentially not anything we haven't heard before).

But yeah, if Overnight is any indication, Duffy is a *****e who thought WAY too highly of himself when he was just coming out of the gate. I'm not sure if Boondock Saints II will be good... the first one isn't exactly the type of film that seem liked it could have a sequel, but well, I'm willing to be optimistic. I'm glad that Flanery, Reedus and Connolly are coming back... those are three guys that are really solid actors but never really made it big.

My biggest concerns are the departure of Dafoe and the addition of Benz. Dafoe doesn't seem particularly money or fame hungry these days (he just did Antichrist) so for him not to return might be the result of a mediocre script. As for Benz, I like her on Dexter, but the last two films I've seen her in were horrible (Ramblow and Punisher: Snore Zone). There is obvious concern when I see her sign onto yet another gun-heavy movie.

So is the sequel DTV or is it getting a theatrical release?

Wondering that myself. If it is release in theaters, I have a feeling that it will end up like Serenity... all of the fans will go see it... and that's it. So it won't do very well.

Sony Pictures has announced the details of The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day panel at 2009 San Diego Comic Con International. The trailer for the much anticipated sequel to the 1999 cult classic film The Boondock Saints will premiere during the panel on Saturday, July 25th at 3:30pm. Talent in attendance for the panel includes:

* Troy Duffy (writer/director)
* Billy Connolly (Noah ‘Il Duce’ McManus)
* Norman Reedus (Murphy McManus)
* Sean Patrick Flannery (Connor McManus)
* Julie Benz (Eunice Bloom)
* Clifton Collins, Jr. (Romeo)
* David Della Rocco (Rocco)

Really, are you sure? I thought they said Rocco was just going to appear in a flashback or something.

I guess it could work if the brothers get another "vision" like they did in the first movie.

Great, I loved his character in the first film, I'm happy he is at least making a cameo in this film.

site is live !! trailer coming soon !!

Any news on trailer descriptions or when the trailer goes online?

Because it lacks the one quality that made Boondock Saints watchable:

Willem Dafoe.
Ah, I see. Well, I guess on the chance that you DO watch it, you skip all the scenes that don't include Dafoe, so you really don't know what the rest of the movie holds. Just because YOU don't like the movie, only means its "destined to fail" in your own little world. No one elses. Go be a troll somewhere else.

Just because I don't like it? No, that's not why it's destined to fail. It will fail because there is little interest among the general public. I mean, hell, this tread was started almost 5 years ago and here we are on page 3?
Yeah, this movie is going to be a big one :whatever:

And I just love the tightwads on this site call you a "troll" whenever you have an opinion that isn't in sync with theirs. You know, you can just not think something is a good idea, and it doesn't make you a troll for sharing your opinion. This isn't the "Boondock Saints Appreciation thread", so If I decided to express my feeling on the movie, and the feeling is a negative one, I will do so. Go be annoying somewhere else.

So because I think this is stupid idea it makes me troll? Explain your logic? I just simply stated my opinion.

Oh wait, you are Nivek, and your mind isn't capable of handling other peoples opinions so you immediately point a finger and yell "troll" when you come across an opinion that differs from yours. Grow up dude. You being the guy who notoriously trolled the Hulk boards in 2003, your insults fall short and would be hypocritical if they were accurate. They aren't. Buh-bye now.
