Borderlands

I purchased my copy on Steam over a week ago. It is locked until the 30th.

That's messed up. most of the guys on my buddys list ordered later then you then. but yet they have it from steam. that's not right.

yeah i'm in north america . my clan is both canadian and people from the states. I'm one of the admins. Let me know when you get it.

And here's a link to the Steam forum thread where an excitable bunch appears to be somewhat (and justifiably) pissed off.

Piecing together the fragments of the story it looks like the advertised date was the 27th, right up until a few hours before the anticipated release. Then it was pushed back three days.

In the mean time the debacle has apparently created a situation with the 4-copy pack (buy one plus three for your friends). Some of the quartets are locked out of the game based on where they live.

I'm sorry to hear that man. it's terrable that some people will be getting this late. Hopfully you still get the game on that date.

Finished this last night with a level 36 Brick and I have two orange weapons and 4 alien weapons. I plan to start my second play thru tonight.

So, I was wondering...I'd like to pick up a game that me and my brother can play together. Splitscreen co-op, and this game seems to be what I'm looking for.

But the gltiches I've heard and read about, are any of them happening to the single player or splitscreen co-op? Or online?

Just an update on my situation...

I wasn't too impressed to read "Game unavailable" when I first tried to launch it. Others have had the same problem from the Steam download, although it can be remedied by running the Steam executable before running the game.

Anyway, I've taken a Hunter to level 8 and killed Nine-Toes at this point. Only died once so far (by slipping off a bridge into a shallow ditch, WTF?), but had a couple of close calls along the way. Better Sniper Rifles made life a whole lot easier.

I haven't experienced any glitches at all. Mostly from what I'm reading they are rare occurrences. There is a patch coming out today but none of the details on the patch seem to suggest fixing some of the more troublesome glitches a few are talking about.

I've played in single player and have had my friends drop in and out and I've joined my other friends games to help them. No glitches for me. Maybe I'm just really lucky.

I've experienced (PS3) a lot of glitches online but none in splitscreen or singleplayer. I've seen people join my online game at level 0 when they are really 30+. One guy told me that when I got into my vehicle it said I was at his level of 28 when I'm actually 31. I've seen players run through gates/fences. Another friend on my friends list lost all their weapons for a short period of time and had to disconnect and reconnect online to fix it.

The Friends list in my game screen has people who haven't bought the game, I read that only people who have installed the game will pop up on the friends list but this is another bug that EVERYONE has experienced.

There are an ENORMOUS amount of bugs on the PS3. Gearbox just announced a patch for the 360 only.

October 29, 2009 - Enjoying Borderlands, but coming across way too many bugs and glitches? Help is on the way!

Developer Gearbox Software will be releasing an update Thursday October 30th at 2 A.M. CST for the Xbox 360 version of Borderlands. Gearbox also states they'll eventually release a patch for the PC and PlayStation 3 versions as well.

Fixed a bug which caused players and other things in the world to appear incorrectly on clients in networked games

fixed a bug in which players gibbed in arena combat disappeared

fixed a bug which caused the dollars counter to spin continuously

fixed a bug that caused the digger elevator to be unusable after completing the Find Tannis mission

Weapon mapping to the D-pad should no longer reverse left and right

various localization and other text and tooltip corrections

The introductory quests with CL4P-TP should now always progress properly all the time

Lilith's Phase Strike ability now works as intended

Load times have been improved

I have played over 20 hours online and have been able to overlook these bugs for the most part because I love this game and am addicted to it but it's rediculous. The 360 has NONE of these problems the PS3 has and the bugs they mention for the 360. My 2 friends who play the 360 version have never experienced any of these bugs.

Well, I should be getting it for the 360. Looking foward to the game. It looks cool.

Just picked the game up, and played in Co-Op with my brother.

Tons of fun.

I was a little thrown off by the save system, but still very enjoyable.

I was wondering, is it possible for me to keep my Single Player and Co-Op stories apart? Since I've got no control over the save files themselves, does it automatically save over the progress I've made with my brother?

Or is that what the whole NEW CHARACTER is for?

I don't know if this answers your questions but anyways;

NEW CHARACTER is just starting over completely with the story at level 0.
Your Co-Op and singleplayer are not seperate and will be in the same gamesave/storyline. The best thing to do is host your own game so that other people join you on your same mission instead of joining other peoples game that may be further ahead in the game and it messes up your missions and delays your story progression.

One thing people do is create a new 2nd character and play splitscreen with their 1st character that has already leveled up. All you do is use 2 controllers in splitscreen and your 1st character will help level up your new 2nd character really fast but the game will tell you that your 1st character is too far into the story for your new character. So this is a good fast way to level up a new character and have a huge advantage from the beginning being a higher level than the enemies

So yeah.....I just finished it.....checked my challenges and I had over 350 'kills with explosive weapons' but still yet to get the master exploder achievment.....I hope I can get that on a playthrough with another character, because I would like my perfect 1000

Just finished the game this week tonight actually. I got alot of sweet weapons and the skill trees are sweet.

I was mostly look for SDUs cause I didn't want to lose some certain weapons but lost one sweet sniper rifle cause my friend kept on pushing and i was avoid that cause I wanted more of those lost it but and finally got the Extra SDU's back up pack and it was to late lol my friend felt bad after that. but I'll make it up later. so no big deal. I did the medic soldier with Roland. and he's a tactician. and I have the healing friendly fire that heal your buddy's when he shoots you. with any gun or just a grenade toss. it does damage to your enemies still and while that's happening .

I wanted the leader mod but I'll get that later. lol the end was a sweet surprise . the clap traps are awesome but I have lot of missions on my own game to finish up. when I set my server for it. and I have few YouTube videos that me and my friends found that people will find interesting. like getting the cars into towns like fyerstone. lol

I can't wait for the DLC. the zombie Island of Doc Ned. lol left for Dead fans will love that one. the video for that was mentioned here. http://www.elecplay.com/episode/view/season/19/episode/288

in case you haven't heard about it yet. may be you have. this will be interesting.

I just got 1000/1000 on the game. There are definitely glitches but none of them come even close to game breaking or anything. It was a fantastic game and I hope there's a sequel.

Oh I didn't know about the dlc. I can't complain there I'm addicted to the game and the dlc looks great. I'm pumped.

I'm all over that new DLC. Love this game.

I got the master exploder achievement on a second playthrough with a new character

this came in the pc news section but there's no news on when it'll be for pc. yet . It better come though. too many people will be ticked. [/B]

It was already mentioned in the gameplay video they released.

Link

"...and the PC version will follow some time after."

lol "some time after" still isn't a set date which most of my buddys in my clan and on my growing buddys list want to know and hear.

But I my self will take it for now. Seeing that there was a 101 update with the on line content this past week. I know this is coming. But a set date will help to assure others. but yeah they should take their time too. I don't want it rushed ether. that's all I'm saying. Thanks for the video though. that'll tide some people over til this comes out.
