Thought:
I loved the Retcon bombs.

Spoiler it...I don't read the Spidey books.

52 was excellent as always. Dealt mostly with the seriously messed up space travellers from IC.

Wonder Woman was amazing. Sigh, my poor wallet. It was probably my pick of the week.

it says spoilers in the thread title

can i ask if anyone bought Frontline #1; what happened with Spider-Man and the reporter?

I have to go over 20 miles to the nearest comicshop.

I won't get to the store until this weekend. I have two weeks worth of comics waiting in my box.

I wouldn't mind going to pick them up but these f-ckin' gas prices.

Same here.

Although I kind like getting a full stack of comics, it gives me a chubby.

Public transportation has been my friend lately.

Yeah, it's cool to just get home, sit down, and read all of your comics for a couple of hours.

I hate using public transportation.

If I lived in say New York I wouldn't have much choice, but I'd rather wait until I'm already headed on business or such to get multiple things done during that day.

It's gotten to the point where my wife knows to leave me be, when I got my comics from the shop.

My word, this is the best Bought/Thought ever! :D

Civil War Frontline #1

So previews made it look like Spidey was gonna drop the bomb right?

Well he tells her the situation. On what they're asking of heroes(revealing identities) and how that will affect them, how they have families, how its complicated. He wants Sally to know that, he wants her to tell everyone.

He also tells Sally to be at Iron Man's press conference. In which Tony takes off his mask.

In the next story, it tells about some dude in New York, who saw an 'alien' fly into his lands. Turns out, it was Speedball, he absorbed most of the blast, and it basically burned out his powers, so he is alive---soul survivor--but without powers. The blast sent him flying over 500 miles, totally burned him out. :(

Overall good read, surprised me, I almost didn't get it.

Wonder Woman #1

So I'm still new to DC, didn't read Infinite Crisis, and 52 will murder my budget. :(

I take it that Diana has been missing for a year, hence 52, and alot of stuff has happened, even though I was lost x10, I thought it was a great read, and loved the art.

THOUGHT:
52 Week 5 - Supergirl's new location is explained and the mysteries are further deepened as a new subplot takes form. Complex, ain't it?

Annihilation Silver Surfer 3 - Yowsa, Surfer back with the G-Man. One issue to go, and this is shaping up to be one of the better of the four minis with Nova.

Black September Infinity 1 - Interesting stuff, tying in the MU with the Malibu U. Unfortunatley I don't know much about Malibu as I only have a couple issues so was a mite out of the loop.

Detective Comics 820 - Batman & Robin draw in closer on the mystery as does Bard, and now they've all learned that Two-Face is back. Art wasn't as good as this issue, but can't wait to see how the mystery wraps up next issue.

Fantastic Four First Family 4 - Originally, I was ready to write this off as just another retcon, but as it progresses I could see an adaptation of this making a much better movie than the one we got. It has the certain flair of realism while maintaining the original appeal.

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man 9 - It probably woulda helpd if I was able to get ahold of the xover that started all this, but I doubt it. So far, I'm unimpressed. Green Hobgoblin's origin is explained as is Ben's reappearance, and Spidey is given a reason to hate his new suit. I loved David's Spectacular, but this is just...blah.

Fury Peacemaker 5 - This would probably have been a better story with smoother transisitons between panels and more distinguishable characters. As of now I'm wondering who the hell everyone is and what the hell is going on.

Green Lantern 10 - Got this because 11 interested me enough to. Not too bad, went a bit quick in pacing but that's alright. Good set-up for the next story.

Last Planet Standing 3 - Woo...Galactus and co. ain't taking no prisoners! Not only do the heroes hafta deal with him, but the galactic powers looking to stop Galactus and destroy Earth in the process! If this IS MC2's swan song, it's gonna be a good one.

Marvel Team Up 21 - As usual, a new hero gets his ass kicked by an established baddie. Different this time, though, is that baddie can hit with the power of a mack truck at full speed! Definitely not a good first outing for Freedom Ring and definitely got me wanting next month to come already.

Moment of Silence - This is my third copy of the one-shot, and it's sitll a helluva read. Nicely done.

New X-Men 27 - Brutality abounds. This book makes you actually care about the characters because it's obvious NONE are safe. The good guys won't always win and someone can always die. Plus, I find it both cool and a bit sad that X-23 is acting more like Wolverine than Wolverine has in a while. I miss my classic Wolvie. And what the hell is up with Cannonball's costume? Crappy much?

Punisher 34 - Cuda's a helluva villain, and there's some funny dialogue to compliment the situations. One of the better issues in this arc so far. 2 to go...wonder how bad everyone'll pay.

Superman Returns: Krypton to Earth - The first issue is basically a comic adaptation to the beginning of the first movie. Very nicely done, good artwork.

Uncanny X-Men 143 - The classic tale of Kitty vs. the N'Garai demons one Christmas evening. My first issue with the N'Garai was the Wolverine '95 annual which referenced this tale, which I read in Classic. Now I have the actual issue; extremely cool!

Uncanny X-Men 144 - Another I read in Classic form. Cyclops has to save his new boss from a sinister plot by D'Spayre with the aid of the Man-Thing! Definitely a cool Cyclops story, especially since they're so rare.

Uncanny X-Men 145-147 - The X-Men are recruited to rescue Arcade from Dr. Doom, only to end up trapped in Murderworld and then by Doom himself. A very good story with twists and turns gallore. Always cool to see the X-Men take on big bads and have to fight their way out of unique situations. Especially see cool to see Storm lay a beatdown on Doom's ass!

Uncanny X-Men 149 - Kitty gets a new costume in time for the X-Men to face off agains Garrok! Good story, good battle, cute moments.

Uncanny X-Men 150 - Magneto threatens the world with a powerless Cyclops as his hostage. The X-Men arrive only to lose their powers as well, causing them to fight to get them back before facing against Magneto. This issue I've seen as one of the pocket comic playsets, this was the issue featured on it. Was cool to finally get the actual issue after seeing it for so long, and it had a good story to boot!

Uncanny X-Men 153 - Already reviewed this one when they reprinted it in Marvel Milestones last month.

Uncanny X-Men Annual 6 - The X-Men vs. Dracula! I actually read this one in its reprinted form years ago. It was a pretty good tale with some twists and turns, and excellent art to compliment it.

Underworld 5 - So Jackie Dio's the new supervillain on the block. He's got some potential, hopefully good writers handle him and he doesn't turn into one of those throwaway characters like back in the 90s.

Wonder Woman 1 - Donna Troy is the new Wonder Woman and her old villains are calling her out to find the real deal. I guess I shoulda picked up that Donna Troy mini. Art was good, story was interesting, but yet another title I'm gonna be horribly lost in.

X-Men The End Men and X-Men 6 - Okay...what the hell just happened? I dunno. I think someone had the right idea about waiting for the whole thing THEN reading it...this was definitely a tale you couldn't wait between issues to read. And what is up with Cassandra Nova in a skimpy costume? Ew much.
