Yep, I Hate Giants was excellent. I always think that a comic book diet should include stuff that isn't just about superheros..or zombies...or barbarians. I Hate Giants definitely came out of left field; but, I fell in love with it after the first issue.
I just ordered the Dead @ 17 Omnibus. I never read the comic; so, I'm hoping it's worth it.
The Essential series really is putting out some thicker issues, with comics from the late 70's and into the 80's. Essential X-Men Vol. 9 just came out (price has now increased, though, from 16.99 to 19.99), and it has some great issues. Essential Dazzler Vol. 2 was awesome! Not only did it include the rest of her series, but also had the Beauty and the Beast miniseries and her hard to find, pretty expensive graphic novel, Dazzler The Movie.
Half-Priced Books in Tacoma now has a ton of Graphic Novels. It makes me think that the comic shop across the street is being ripped off, and people are selling them there. It's just kind of odd to see such expensive graphic novels in excellent condition being in such abundance.
