Runaways- "All your base are belong to the New Pride". It's funny that even an issue such as this one can still make me laugh out loud mere pages before saying goodbye to one of our cast. While the death was exactly the one I wanted (no offense to Ms. Yorkes), it was still sad, and very well done. The wait for next week's Runaways/Young Avengers is gonna be brutal. 9/10

I don't quite understand the quote
As for the death, I would have preferred a certain smaller, younger, stronger Runaway but this was my 2nd choice; still quite sad as you said. I wonder what's gonna happen with
Chase?

I'll give Marvel some credit. Civil War and FF have sparked a new interest in Thor for me. For once, the killing/resurrection ploy worked.

I concur.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! You can't kill molly, what's wrong with you man. She's the second best character. Who else will save the little duckies?

If she were older, I'd hate her less. A little kid(even one with super strength) just slows the team down.

Eternals 2- This series is awesome! I'm a bit frustrated at how much of a struggle Makkari is putting up instead of accepting the fact that he is an Eternal. If some huge blonde guy told me I was a superhero and I felt it too, I wouldn't fight it at all. What's this guy's problem?

Uhhhm... that's the point, they ain't supposed to be the x-men, the point is they have problems and they're not slick. Their a ragtag group of runaways and in this case these things aren't flaws, they're character-traits.

Yeah, but Molly's always the one getting lost or kindapped. Enough already. And her dumb juvenile comments stopped being funny to me around issue 5......of the first volume. She get's superstrength and Chase loses his gaunlets and becomes useless for months; hardly fair to me.

Ordinarily, I hate kids, but Molly's grown on me. Let's kill Chase; he's useless with his stupid little knife.

He's got a little more than the knife now.....and who'll drive the Leapfrog? He should get his gauntlets back though :(

It's a reference to the very poorly translated original Metal Gear video game.

If Molly died, I would've flipped.:down

^Molly's overstayed her welcome :o

CIVIL WAR: X-MEN #1
Another disapointment. Didn't care to much for the story, only really liked the scenes with Bishop. Paquette's beast is god awful
2/5

Seeing Bishop put Cyclops in his place was great to see but this book just feels so......unecessary. I think Civil War should have gone down with the mutant population remaining neutral. Not many of them wear masks anyway and people have ways of scanning for the X-gene, so there's no need for them to register.

The CW DC tells who the DD is in the script part

oh really?
is that another accidental reveal on marvel's part (like ronin's identity), or is this intentional?

by the way, who is it?

Iron Fist
But there are other copies of the same Civil War DC that show the names
Hawkeye, Nick Fury

Rumor has it that it is
Ironfist
And Marvel noticed that they ****ed up so they threw out copies with the other names on it to cover their tracks.

that's kinda what i figured. it's amazing how these things slip through the cracks like that. if it's not danny, my money's still on clint.

It's not just about the government knowing who you are under the mask.

Even unmasked heroes need to become registered combatants if they want to leap around the city and toss cars at bad guys.

Was "All your base are belong to us" really from Metal Gear?

I didn't know that.

It's like when I used to wonder why I saw "Who Watches the Watchmen?" scrolled on walls in a bunch of Marvel and DC books.

Ok, I'll give you that but Bishop running off and Cyclops' team in hot pursuit just wasn't needed. I expected some mutants to be pro-SHRA and some anti but this is all kinds of dramatic.

A JLA Question. So does this render Mark Waids JLA Year one invalid? I hope not. I think these continuity adjusments to a more classic silver age history are gonna play havoc with D.C. history. Just Wonder Womans precence changes an ass load of stories. Also is anyone else underwhelmed with the history of the D.C. Universe back up in 52? Sorry to sound so negative I just want to know you guy's opinions.

It's not from Metal Gear. The poster in question has his games mixed up. I don't remember the name of the game offhand, but using google should show which game it came from.

It was zero wing for the megadrive. It was later edited onto pictures of other games, kind of became a leeroy jenkins style fad

Bought:

The Escapists #1
JSA #0
Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters #1
Civil War #3
Civil War X-Men #1
Ultimate X-Men #72
Uncanny X-men #476
Runaways #18
Eternals #2
She-Hulk #9
Iron Man Extremis HC
Halo HC

Thought:

The Escapists #1: I know this book was from last week but, wow. WOW. Best dollar I have ever spent. This is a comic book about comic books and just really gets you into the story. I want to have sweet man sex with BKV. To all of you guys who haven’t got this, I say…well first I’d slap you, then I’d say: BUY THIS NOW!!!

JSA #0: I always hate when the art shifts styles back and forth, but for some reason, this worked perfect for this issue. I can sense a lot of you long time DC readers will get more out of this then I did, but overall I really enjoyed it, and will be there come #1.

Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters #1: Brave New World suckered me in, so I picked this up. Didn’t read the Battle of Budahaven or Battle of Booty or w/e it was called. I didn’t even read any of the old Freedom Fighter comics. But for some reason I liked this, started off slow but it picked up and the last page was awesome.

Civil War #3: Man it was a solid week. I wanna tell you this is the pick of the week, because it is that good, but She-Hulk and Runaways were also amazing. The stuff really gets crazy in this issue. We see where some characters stand(BP, Dr. Strange, X-Men) we get to see the new “Secret Avengers” do their thing. That scene in the alley was freakin cool, you have to admit. The first battle did NOT disappoint, I mean wow. I loved this issue, although wtf was up with Spidey?:(

Ultimate X-Men #72: What a difference the art makes, too bad that Oliver is going to be doing the next arc though. The all powerful Magician might be up to something since Nick Fury doesn’t even remember dropping him off at Xavier’s.

Uncanny X-Men #476: That’s two good X-issues for Bru. I haven’t read Uncanny in a while, but was not bored with this. Story/Art was solid.

Runaways #18: Wowowowowowow. Did I say I want to have man sex with BKV yet? This book never fails! Last month’s cliffhanger was just a tease, we all thought Chase would bite it, but it ends up being
Gert:eek:
! Man, I love this book.

Eternals #2: Ok so we are two issues in, and I’ve really enjoyed this. I love the little things about this book. And Gaiman has gone out of his way to throw in little Civil War nods here and there that actually don’t take away from the story. I’m digging it.

She Hulk 2 #9: This book is a perfect example of why Slott is such a great writer. He uses continuity as his strength, and boy is he good at it. This issue was freakin excellent. And with so much Civil War talk in this, they could have got away with labeling this a tie in. Excellent excellent read, J.J.J. was the best part of this issue.

The Halo trade is freakin awesome, I was really surprised.
