I never said he was. But that's the thing, we don't know what his power level is exactly because they never tell us. Either way, that argument is moot it goes back to the why do we need Captain Marvel when we have Superman argument.:o

because captain marvel controls magic and could kick the **** out of supes as a result...

I'll kill you!

While I can see why you would take that scene like that I don't think it was a horrible scene. The way I saw it goes hand in hand with the Sentry's characterization dating back to the Jenkins/Lee mini. He's a perpetual loner who feels that he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and has to try to be everyone's savior. The helicarrier scene showed that Sentry doesn't need to do that, that he has teammates he can count on and that every once in a while, you need to rely on them.

Or...I'm reading way too much into the scene.:oldrazz:

What would you do if I sang out tune?
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
I will try not to sing out of key, yeah

Oh, baby I get by with a little help from my friends
By with a little help from my friends.
All I need is my buddies
By with a little help from my friends
I said I'm gonna get by with a little
By with a little help from my friends
Whoa oh oh oh oh
Said I don't know if that's what I'm sure do to, baby
By with a little help from my friends
Said I'm gonna make it with my friends
By with a little help from my friends
Whoa oh I'm gonna keep on trying
By with a little help from my friends
Said I'm gonna keep on trying.

He was the best thing about that arc.

Justice League of America #9
Don't get me wrong, there are things to like here. The characterizations are great; Vixen's excitement in Gorilla City is particularly cool even though no cheetah in the world should be able to keep up with Jay Garrick, much less scout things before GL manages to finish a sentence.

There was an exchange between Vixen and the head ape about her powers. I'm thinking she was more powerful/faster than normal.

BTW, I finally got to read Cable and Deadpool #40. I have to say it's the worst issue of that series (or any Deadpool comic) I've ever read. The current writer of X-Men is just God awful, this storyline is utterly terrible, and it's an insult to expect readers of Cable and Deadpool to have to pick up the crap happening in X-Men. I know I gave other titles lower ratings....but, it might be the biggest disappointment of the week. 3/10

That's what you get for reading that comic in the first place. :o

when it's on it's A game cabl and deadpool is a great book :cmad:

It's sucking at the moment though (especially the art :()

If that moment was the first page of issue #1 and on, then I agree.

Doesn't Reilly Brown handle the art chores? I kind of like his style. It's simple and quirky.

I just find it kind of jarring as the comedy in cable and deadpool has always been quite subtle. It worked well with the previous artist, but Brown's style is a bit cartoony for me :(

When has the comedy on that book ever been subtle?

Yeah, really?

Deadpool's got the most obvious, brashest sense of humor this side of Lobo.

it's generally focused more on wordplay rather than tom and jerry style hi-jinks

There's nothing subtle about Deadpool's choice of words, dude.

The teaming up of Cable and Deadpool just doesn't work for me. If you are a fan of one, it's very likely the other doesn't thrill you. And, one can generally bring down the other. (In fact, I would venture a guess that most readers of the book prefer Deadpool; it's just too rare to meet a big Cable fan.) Cable's seriousness brings down the humor of the book, and Deadpool's antics make the reader not take the book seriously, like Cable's previous series.

Sadly, this book is not as good as Deadpool's regular series. And, Cable hasn't been good in quite a while. The fluctuation of his powers, his God-like status at times, doesn't make him a character readers can relate to. He was probably at his best when Liefield made him, a brash, war-focused leader who was preparing his students for upcoming battles. Frankly, I think I wouldn't shed a tear if they killed him off. He might be my least favorite X-character currently around.
