BOUGHT/THOUGHT for May 16, 2007

Cable was at his best when Joe Casey and Jose Ladronn had a hold of him.

As low and abrasive as my rounds with Gluon had the tendency to reach, at the least I hope we stopped short of doing sht just to get a rise out of each other. Or, if we did, I at least hope that someone would have had the balls to tell us to shut the hell up already.

And that is why I will always be lower/higher, yup, i'll go with higher, than both of you, I never stop short of doing **** to get a rise out of people.

:)

The teaming up of Cable and Deadpool just doesn't work for me. If you are a fan of one, it's very likely the other doesn't thrill you. And, one can generally bring down the other. (In fact, I would venture a guess that most readers of the book prefer Deadpool; it's just too rare to meet a big Cable fan.) Cable's seriousness brings down the humor of the book, and Deadpool's antics make the reader not take the book seriously, like Cable's previous series.

Sadly, this book is not as good as Deadpool's regular series. And, Cable hasn't been good in quite a while. The fluctuation of his powers, his God-like status at times, doesn't make him a character readers can relate to. He was probably at his best when Liefield made him, a brash, war-focused leader who was preparing his students for upcoming battles. Frankly, I think I wouldn't shed a tear if they killed him off. He might be my least favorite X-character currently around.

Cable is a great character IMO it just pissed me off with the instability of his powers in recent years.

Whatever. If you haven't done it yet, you're never going to. Besides, Archie #575 comes out tomorrow, and we'll all forget Plain Janes ever happened. :whatever:
