Bought/Thought November 26th, 2008

The creators are British. Therefore, they are probably British. I just get that vibe.

UA has a wonky universe, so maybe JFK made it out a little longer.

They already referenced the assassination in the first run. Maybe it happened later but it seems odd to bring it up as a point of reference and then randomly skew the reference.

Although we've already established that I loathed the first 6 issues of UA so you know, YMMV.

GoG 7: while I love this comic, this issue had problems. First the good. Loved seeing groot in action again. That's one cool tree. Bug and his one liner was nice to see. Loving their using so many villanous characters/races/groups/threats at a time. Great to see the badoon, they're a pretty nasty race. Now the bad. Heather? I like that some of the cosmic types are coming back, but it seems like they're bringing too much back. Moondragon's not needed here, it's too much. The Starhawk thing feels too much like the exiles plot, I half expect them to pop up suddenly. Why does racoon feel over his head suddenly? He's a master strategist, he should whine less.

Now that they've established that happy-buddy-funtimes are assuredly not the flavor of this book, I'm actually digging it more since I'm not waiting every issue for them to swerve back out of the bright teamy funsitude of the first few issues. I do wish they'd stuck with the more cooperative, not-openly-antagonistic team vibe the series launched with but on it's own terms the high-tension style that seems to be developing here works for me.

Herc 123: not enough herc in this, but I'm liking the hera thing. It's still the book I look forward to the most every month.

"Hera" and "Maniacal corporate ballbreaker" - two great tastes that taste great together!

He means the New one. The one that smells like Chud spunk.

Thor: Man of War was fun, but Valkyrie shouldn't have stood a chance and Odin's a giant hypocrite. Otherwise, good stuff.

Some of them have been forgettable, but it's nice that Thor's got this level of attention now.
