Rise of the Silver Surfer BOX OFFICE Discussion

Well.....unions have their place.......and when they were started they were definitely needed.......but, yes, some take things way out of hand. This one though is actually a pretty good argument. Most of people that are members of the actor's guild, director and writer's guild, are not the one's we hear and see.....they are those that are tolling day in and out like us. They have absolutely no retirement, or insurance plans, and that is alot of what is the problem this time.

Didn't they know this when they took the job. LOL Nobody said they couldn't be a brain surgeon. They just decided that this would be easy and they could wait tables on the side till they're millionaires. LOL

Sure....but just because they signed on without it, doesn't mean they can't ask for it now.


People went to work for Wal-mart not realizing it either.......it wasn't until it was brought to the forefront that Wal-mart started working with its employees.

And BTW, there is nothing easy about their jobs.....they work as hard as you and I.
 
^^And why should they not seek to improve their lot by organizing. There is strength in unity.

And why should we be sticking up for the big corporations and those that have a lot or are Marion Antoinettes.

Up with the downtrodden, the poor and every scmuck out there who gets up in the morning not knowing if he can keep a roof over him and his kids.

I say get what you can.

Whatever...it's the job they chose. Some of them may work as hard as me but that's a minority. Not everyone is a workaholic. LOL

^^ You must be a happy man, and we missed the quick numbers update, thankfully Advanced Dark helped out while you were missed (well those like me who hated going over to mojo anyways).

Now you owe it to all of us to be good (you can be a great hypster Carp, you need only try) cause we need all the love we can get for the FF right now with all this Silver Surfer talk going around.

Man, if they don't make an announcement soon I may just about bust.

I got into it rather hot and heavy with some of the ............ I can't put it nicley, so I'll leave that go in the Squared Circle thread. They know who they are. You know me. When someone calls my opinions idiotic, their in for a verbal fight. I can't let others push me around, even though it is only a discussion board. They come down hard on me, and let others just say and do as they please. It never use to be that way. It's gotten worse. You can't say anything negative or dirogatory, unless you're the chossen few.

Geeze now the mod(s) that pleaded for you are going to have a hard time cutting you some slack again.

Oh well, AD may take your Job. Of course, AD says 2009 will be a start date for shooting and the hype will be low for a while but I think I will be moving over to Thor soon and the comic book threads when I visit.

I can't really get excited about SS being made before FF3.

Fox isn't working on either at the moment, the powahs the be are VERY QUIET.

Well with 4 Marvel films in 2008 we'll be busy.
 
what 4 will that be AD? and in your opinion, what film will Singleton make? BP or Luke?

Yeah, and this doesn't bode well with the looming strikes next year. Guess it could be a while before either is greenlit.
