SR is on 4th place, it sucked!

Also, I cant understand why all people think X3 will be better than X2?

About POTC2 and DVC I can agree, but why X3 is number 1???

I think its shaping up quite well. Im excited to see how they use the new characters. I'm excited about it and never thought it would be worse thatn X2. Its good to see Superman in the top 5 at least. :) Like I've said, Box Office numbers aren't important for me, I just want to enjoy the movie. A good BO # would be a nice perk to add with the movie though.

Cineman you have to realize...a good trilogy with 2 good movies that came before is always going to be huge.

Sometimes I think you make a Matrix comparison and think this is the way it will be with X3.. The 2nd Matrix movie in that tirlogy turned many people off.

Think of this more in terms of other good solid trilogies with 2 movies that came before.

Star wars...OG and prequels.... LotR Return of the King.

THose movies built up to the end and they only made fans happier from one to two so most expect greatness froma trilogy in 3.

T3 is not a great example either as there was so much distance between 1 and 2... same goes for Alien, those sequelas were set so far apart it never felt like a trilogy.

You must realize people look at this as a trilogy, I don't think anyone looks at Batman Returns as the trilogy mostly because it was so very different...different actor in the lead, different director and a totaly different feel...less dark WB made concesions to Soccer Moms who hated a sexed up Penguin and Catwoaman... but even still Returns made more then 2 and more then it should have because it was the 3rd movie after 2 great movies.

X men 3 may not get the critical acclaim Superman is going to get.... but it is going to make alot of money.

Well said. When I saw X2 for the first time, the theatre was sold out. I had to sit on the very front row and ended up with a sore neck. There were people clapping and cheering when Wolverine started slicing people up. It was a great experience and with what you said, it usually stands true that people come back to a movie if its prequels gained major interest.

I don't really think it means anything. It's just a poll. I still can't believe though how X3 can be first. From what i understand it's the shortest of the three films? I don't know......Anyway i voted for SR.

I think thats right, its the shortest of the three. I believe I remember seeing that it was only a minute or two shorter than the first.

Just a rumor so far nothing is confirmed at all in regards to run time

New rumors set it at 1 hour and 45 minutes and perhaps 2 hours.

What is showing at the film festival may be abreviated ..or incompleate with finals SFX being added to shots not shown

Yeah, it seems like a lot is going on during the movie, so I expected it to be maybe even longer than the second one. But the rumors were going around that it was the shortest.

I'm impressed that Superman Returns is that high up considering there isn't even a trailer for it, unlike most of the other movies. I can't help but to think had we already seen a full-fledged trailer, SR would easily be #1.

Once that happens, I think the balance will shift, and more people will be interested in seeing a new Superman movie. I just don't think the trailer for X3was that good.

And if people realize that the same man who did the previous X-Men films is NOT involved with the 3rd one and is instead involved in the new Superman movie, then that's even better for SR, IMO.

A lot of the mainstream public don't even know there is a superman movie being made. My mom just the other day said she saw the EW cover at the store and asked me about it. She wasn't even aware of a new Superman movie until then.

794 polled is not a lot, relatively speaking

If I voted, I would most certainly pick X3. But think about the general public. The large majority of people who voted for that poll are movie buffs, internet movie buffs, no less. Why else would they be registered at BOM? The vast majority of the movie going public are NOT regular netheads, they're a different demographic. For the general public a Superman movie is probably alot more excessable than the third film in a trilogy that skews to a slightly older crowd. Superman is EASILY the #1 movie on that list that people are going to bring their kids to see, a factor which can up a films overall take by 50%

I'd have to say that BOM is the last place I'd look for any opinion. Almost all of their movie reviews are really bad from my point of view. I believe that the said King Kong was a big piece of trash. That alone doesnt fly with me. I'm certainly no kong fan but I seriously dont think it deserved the review they gave it. They come off as a little too up tight with their views.

It seems to me X3 would have a lower score. Think about it. All those other movies, they had mostly the same people working on them from the start, and the Star Wars movies always had different directors but Lucas was there the whole time. But X3, it's the third film in a successful series with different writers and director. That's usually a big turnoff to people isn't it? In most cases, these movies aren't so good and mostly frowned upon. I really don't get it myself. I mean if Singer was still there, sure, I could understand the hype. But he isn't. Haven't these people seen Superman III and Batman Forever?

This is quite simple. 99% of the people who will end up seeing Superman has not seen much about the film. Even us fans have seen hardly anything.

We have one teaser. That is it. When the Superman trailer hits the web and tv screens people will become more aware of it and they hype will begin. ;)
