Wait Potter dropped 59% from it first week already..? TF dropped in it's second week largely because of Potter, but i don't understand why Potter has dropped so much with no real 'new' competeition out there.

Simple, it has no rewatchability, where TF does.

59% represents it's drop from last Thursday

$18.4 for July 12th to $7.6 for July 19th.

TF dropped 67% from July 5th at $19 to July 12th at $6.4.

you will be wrong 99.99% ..... the question is can it beat SP3 for the nr.1 domestically....300 is a lock since last weekend and the weekdays legs only confirm it.

I was comparing Transformer's pace with Spiderman 3's, and I just don't think there is any way Transformers will catch Spidey, unless the drops in weeks 4, 5, and 6 are EXTREMELY small.

Deadline Hollywood reports Transformers pulled in $5.9 million Friday night and is on pace for $20.5 million this weekend. That would put Transformers at a 45% drop. I was hoping it would do a little better - over $22 million... but the weekend isn't over yet so we'll see.

I think as of Monday or Tuesday it will surpass Shrek's 21 day total, however I don't think it's going to catch SM3. However surpasssing Shrek and Pirates is an achievement in itself.

It's funny how underestimated TF was....i mean the only people that were giving it a chance to be a blockbuster of this caliber were people here on SHH and on forums like Seibertron,meaning the fan base,almost all predictions were like 200 million $ max from anyone else.

I'm SO glad that they were all wrong

Ohhh man, if Potter only took in 10.3 million on Friday, I think it'll be an even more disappointing weekend for that movie than it's looking to be. I'll bet Saturday will either stay the same, or slightly drop, because of the book's release. WOW... Not that I want Potter to do bad, but that's just kind of funny the studio would release the movie in the midst of it's final book release. Not a smart move, imo.

Anyways, I think it'd be great if Transformers ultimately passes Shrek, but that isn't written in stone yet. Shrek had excellent legs. After next weekend we'll have a much, much clearer picture to whether Transformers can do that.

Not at the FF2: ROTSS forums. They generally thought Transformers would bomb, and then after it's great opening, thought it would drop off the table vs. Potter.

As of Saturday, Potter is looking at almost $200 which is pretty equivalent of TF on it's 11th day.

And releasing the book near the movie just creates hype for both. People want to see how it ends and they want to see the 5th book interpretation on screen.
