Transformers Box Office Thread

Oh man how much i hate bias and haters.....well the other movies had over 100 millions openings,SP3 150 Shrek 120 and TF will probably beat Shrek and will be a 10 mil less then SP3 ...so who had the better legs you tell me...it didnt fall more then 47% in any weekend and that was with HP opening

Only 25 movies in history made over 300 $ but TF is falling fast....yeah right :o :whatever:

TRANSFORMERS

Domestic: $284,677,134
Foreign: $244,082,985

WORLDWIDE TOTAL = $528,760,119

Thats not too bad, we are getting there.

Nope...without Japan and Germany and that is FANTASTIC how can you say it's not bad...Batman,Superman,F4,X-Men never have made 500 millions and TF has a lot of gas in it's tank.

I think it'll get another $225-250 million overseas.

And the overseas actuals are higher for 4.5 millions :D:D

The toy-based, sci-fi film "Transformers," with such key markets as Germany and Japan coming up this weekend, reached an international cume of $248.5 million, opening second to "The Simpsons" in the U.K. ($17.8 million from 459 screens) and also in France ($6.5 million from 872 screens). It also had strong openings in Belgium, Switzerland and Hong Kong as well as holdovers in Australia and Korea

that comment "Thats not too bad" was definately sarcastic, especially since all the Yen that transformers will be swimming in come august 4th

Sorry bro :yay: ....but anyway the fact is TF is a smash

Worldwide: $533,217,443

So what markets does Transformers have left? And how much $$$ is expected from them? Seems it will end up petering out at $600 mil (if that)... and will definately not be an uber-smash like Spidey or Pirates...... or even Harry Potter which is already at 700 mil in just two weeks. :wow: I dunno.

It still hasnt premiered here in Japan....Luckily they keep us military people up to date with movies. I have seen it three times on base, once in the states and I plan on seeing it when it hits the theaters here

The difference is Transformers isn't a sequel. In the end it doesn't really matter how much it makes because people actually liked transformers which means the sequal is certain of bigger box-office money.

Considering the competition it's faced, TF is doing amazing numbers.

Especially for a new franchise versus all the sequels with built in audiences.

And they did the smart thing by staggering foreign release dates. Once Japan's numbers come in, people are going to wonder how TF shot up so high all of the sudden. Especially since most people are used to films premiering everywhere at once (ala Harry Potter)

Good grief. Please spare us any explanation as to why staggering release dates is a smart thing. :whatever: Anyway click here for the staggered release dates of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

WHAT??? LOL

It's just oppened in the U.K,France,Belgium,Hong Kong,Mexico...it still ha Germany and Japan in which people are predicting it could do around 150 $ considering that it broke all records in Korea and China and it has at least 30 more in the tank in the U.S...so 800 is not out of the question, which will be more then Shrek and considering it's budget it will be the biggest winner of the summer P/4/P.

And the reason because Potter is at 700(in 3 weeks not 2,with previews it's 4 )it's because it opened everywhere at the same time...i mean Pirates and SP3 were at 750 at the same point so it's nothing spectacular

Transformers Monday Gross: $1.53 million (est)
Total 28 day total: $286 million (est)

Spider-Man 3: $311 million
Shrek the Third: $288 million
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End: $280 million

Transformers 4th Week Gross: $20.4 million
Spider-Man 3 4th Week Gross: $21.1 million
Shrek the Third 4th Week Gross: $22.1 million
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End 4th Week Gross: $18.1 million

I think TF is slowing up and it looks unlikely it will surpass Shrek's Domestic Gross.

Gee, who's the new guy?

:whatever:

Sure, the piracy market could be a problem, but it's pretty obvious it's doing well in the Asian market.

Japan and Germany combined will be close to $200 million when it opens there.

With Japan and Germany still a go it will probably reach $700 million. It will go way past $600 million. :)

Considering Japan is the home of the Transformers it will minimum make $50 million dollars. Bur HP took inn $150 million in 2001 (!), so the chances for passing $100 million and then some is quite possible.
