Transformers Box Office Thread

^All of my friends will only see films at the cinema once, so i'll hve to go on my own. Which i dont mind.

Wow. AveitwithJason, except for the fact that I haven't seen 300 or Die Hard, (I plan too) we liked the same movies this year. Sweet.

Its funny but a lot of girls I know are excited to see it again. And last week I was listening to this 6 girls asking themselves what movie did they want to watch. They all agreed to see Transformers again.

The whole movie made a lot of sense to me after watching it many times. For example, during my first or second view, I couldn't figure out how Sam was able to get close to Megs to shove the cube in his chest. But some time later, I saw Optimus tripping megs that's why he fell on the floor, that's why sam got so close to megs.
Now, why megs couldn't stand up, I don't know, maybe he got hit by a jet plane missle and his legs got torn up as shown in the last scene (or maybe he didn't think he needed to stand up to catch after sam we will see).

Awesome, its very rare to find other people out there who are perfect like me:woot: .

Well, when Megatron was being dropped into the ocean, did you notice he had a leg missing, maybe Prime ripped it off when tripping him.

go for it

I think i will, just been watching clips on Youtube and got the urge to see it again immediatly. You liked this more than SR then i take it?:cwink:

^Which part? If its about SR, i actually think SR is the better movie, though TF is amazing.

Transformers looks to have ~$297.25 million after this weekend, unless it holds noticeably better than it has thus far. That'll put it on pace to hit the $300 million mark August 8th or 9th. And then about a week after that, see ya later Pirates! :)

It would be nice to see work on the actual sequel start next year, with an '09 release. Here's to hoping for a better thought out plot and longer robot vs. robot action! I don't want it to be a more complicated plot, just less silly. And please God, no Unicron. Lets leave 1986 in 1986.

Why stand up to try to grab a kid 2-3 meters off the ground when you could stay near his level to catch him? Thats why Megs didn't stand. To try to catch same better.

I wouldn't mind seeing Unicron in one of the later sequels. I want sequel 2 and 3. To focus on the space bridge, ultimate doom, and energon cube storylines. Maybe we will see Unicron in sequels 4-6.:cwink:

Is this confirmed?

Nothing is confirmed. There isn't even a script yet. But I don't think there was enough direct robot vs. robot action in the first one to warrant even talking about something beyond autobots and decepticons. Unicron would be a turn off for general audience movie goers and for chrissakes it's not a cartoon we're talking about anymore. It's a live action film. Unicron is a bad idea. A giant planet sized robot that eats other planets and talks. Seriously? Unicron is a six year old's dream come true. Hence the '86 movie. And while they're at it, add in the robots that disguise themselves as metallic dinosaurs... because other than $elling toys that'll make alot sense. <yeah right>.

X2 was the perfect sequel to all comic sequels thus far. Why? Because the film had a great plot and showed restraint. Introduce only a few new characters and build a great story. I think that is the best move for TF2.

Wed's numbers

TF $1,359,539 -3.6%

That's a very good hold for TF

Some disappointing news though. TF is losing 930 theatres this weekend. Well I'm still hope TF will have enough to pass Pirates 3. I so want TF to finish at least 3rd this year Domestically.

Transformers is still playing in more theatres than Pirates was at this point in it's release.

Yeah, i agree with both paragraphs.

If you consider the writers of the first movie running their mouths who want nothing to do with the sequel, then yeah...its confirmed.

:woot:

Er....what, LOL? So, the writers of the first movie want Unicron, but they wont be writing the sequel, is that what your're saying?

I read an interview or something here on the HYPE's front page about how they said they want to try out dinobots and constructicons, but a large planet size transformer will force the decepticons and autobots to come together. Something along those lines. I don't want Unicron in TF II anymore than the rest of you, but I think thats where they are going.

^Oh well, lets wait and see how it pans out first before kicking off. I mean Bay did pretty well with this movie so you never know.
