I thought Brandon Routh did an absolutely superb job as Superman. :supes:

I adore him. I believe he did a fanatastic job.
I'm not a big no-it-all about Superman, but I can tell he did a pretty decent job.
He was able to play that good, innocent but commanding hero. I saw the movie for the second time today, and could see he was perfect for the no-lying/good-guy hero type.

Good actor...hampered by a mediocre script. I hope he gets more roles.

i was suprised when i saw behind teh scenes footage. just look at brandon how he listens when singer is teling him what to do. he is just great.

singer casted in my opinion a real clark and kal-el.

Yes he did what he was told which was alright enough for me.

I really want to see more of his superman to really know his version better... (unfortunately we'll have to settle for super-pappa if there's a sequel... nooooooo...) he's the noob playing it as if he's been an oldbie and it's just a little awkward cuz he's obviously a noob. <my tiny issue with him. Overall, a solid enough supes with little to say...

Routh almost did the impossible in filling Reeve's boots. He was very very good in SR and I suspect he will even be better in the sequel, assuming we get one!

He wasn't really given much to say or do, but he did alright.

I can't say I'd want anyone else playing the role now after seeing his performance.

I agre with darkhawk. Routh mostly just stared off to the distance. But it wasn't really his fault that he didn't have much to do..

I said it in another thread and I´ll say it here as well: Routh was the best thing about the mediocre SR. Hopefully he gets another shot at playing Superman (with a diffrent director).

I agree, I was surprised how good Routh was, I really liked him in the role.

Brandon was very good.

Moreso as Clark than Superman though.

He was given very little as Superman and with a better story and script, he could've done much more.

Really? I liked his Superman better than his Clark, especially when he lands on Lex´s continent and says that all he can see "is an old mans sick joke."

Routh was a bad choice. He looked too young for the part and his build was closer to Reeve's before he bulked up for the part than after Reeve bulked up.

It's strange. Maybe it's just me, but I've noticed a lot of people who don't like Routh complain about his appearance as being the central factor, and usually nothing else.

I can see why some people think he looks a little young (I didn't have a problem), but I thought he nailed the role. His voice was deep and commanding as Superman, but he was also very sweet and sincere, whether it was as Clark or Superman. Especially his facial expressions--my heaven's, he looked intense as Superman.

I just wish he had more lines.

He was serviceable. Maybe if he gets to do it again, and I hope he doesn't, he can do better.

I think the kid has potential. Maybe with a few acting lessons and a director that allows him to break away from Reeve's performance and he could be great

He did great, having to carry on from Reeve. I hope we see him playing Supes again, and see how he develops the character.

Very nice :) At least the SR fans and haters are in agreement over one thing

that's why i was really looking forward to those Kal-El scenes at the farm, its as close to original work as we're gonna get from Routh in this movie, everything else will have some kind of Reeve influence like it or not.

one of the things i want to strangle Singer for. :down
