Brave and the Bold Casting Thread

I'll also add that Gunn mentioned that the DCAU would be a big influence for his DCU. And as far as Hollywood actors that have a strong natural baritone voice that could translate into a very Conroy-esque take on Batman, no name comes to mind that could pull it off better than him.

He has the potential to be better than Affleck, Clooney and Kilmer but not as good as Rob, Bale and Keaton. He may be remembered as a good Batman but not as good as the great ones. Maybe in the same caliber as West.

I think they can do Jason Todd, have him dead in this film and then have the sequel be about Under the Red Hood. Tim is the one that might get lost in the shuffle here.
I hate Red Hood more than almost any other part of Batman lore but they will 100% do him eventually.

He's the same caliber of actor as far as I'm concerned. Just had a different, less overtly showy career.

If the movie is good, or even okay, there is going to be massive shiny new toy syndrome just because this Batman will probably look and act the most comic book-y out of any of them to date. Gonna be the most drama.

I won't accept West slander like this heh For his take not only do I feel he was a good Batman, I feel he was a great one and one of the very best. He carried that show on his back and his performance has remained iconic for over 40 years.

Pace I can see being the live-action equivalent to Kevin Conroy. He even went to Julliard like him.

It's no slander it's actually a compliment, West is iconic but there have been better ones to date let's be honest

I agree with the Lee Pace pick. I’m not so sure they’ll cast 40+. Hollywood doesn’t age like the rest of us, so maybe. Maybe we get hung up on the number too much…

I still like Richard Madden too. Just keep the gray in his hair & let him play older. Mid/young 20s for Nightwing & Barbara Gordon/Batgirl. And an unknown actor for Robin—“and introducing so-and-so as Damian Wayne, son of Batman.”

Jean Reno or Shaun Toub as Ras

I'd also throw Navid Negahban's name in the hat for Ra's.

Jamie Dornan feels somewhat plausible. Not a huge fan but wouldn't be surprised to see his name on the mix for Bruce.

I feel they will to intentionally distance themselves from Pattinson's take and give themselves more flexibility for casting the rest of the family.

I want Glen Powell as Bruce, cant remember the thread but someone brought it up and he just has such a box type look to him that reminds me EXACTLY of Brave And The Bold Batman. He's more popular Booster Gold And Hal fan cast but I think he's a great kinda "out there" choice for Batman.

Interesting choice, I wouldn't cast him as Hal Jordan since it would be pretty lazy to cast him as a pilot coming off from Top Gun. But yeah I'd give him a chance as batman

I wouldn't take Brave and the Bold as meaning they're gonna be doing a Batman like the cartoon or like in those comics, it just kinda seems like they used it to avoid using "Batman" as a title since Pattinson is already doing it.
They already made it clear their Batman is gonna be based on Morrison's, which makes me think they'll get someone that still has dramatic range. Glen Powell I feel is not only too young, but also doesn't really have any roles that back him up as having those chops.

Cast the new DCU :batman:

He's in my top three for DCU Bruce. Ethan Peck and Sam Heughan are also good choices suggested by Boom.

Powell plays a fighter pilot in Devotion as well. Any more roles like that, he runs the risk of being typecast.

Or maybe they skip all the pilot origin and cut straight to the action

Unlikely/Not happening

-Alan Ritchson.
-Henry Cavill.
-Bradley Cooper
-Richard Madden
Maybe but probably not:
-Jake Gyllenhaal

Maybe Josh Hartnett? He's said he regretted turning down Batman for Batman Begins and he wouldn't do it again.
