Brave and the Bold Casting Thread

I can think of many actors in their 30s who would be a good Batman
But THIS specific Batman?
There are actors in their 30s that I can imagine playing some version of Batman, but not the one that's supposed to have an extended Bat-Family with at least two young adults in the mix, that's presumably going to be one of the leaders of the Justice League and one that's also based on Morrison's run who's entire thing is that he's peak human and has gone through decades of history, etc. Not to mention, an actor that'd also have to then go into voice acting the character for animated movies and videogames.
Jonathan Groff is an example of someone that I'd love to see in the role, but I can't imagine seeing him as this type of Batman at all.

I don’t think we really know enough about the project to put those factors in. Do we know for sure there’s an extended bat family and the such? Couldn’t Damian be the first Robin?

We do.

Safran: This is going to feature other members of the extended Bat-Family. Just because we feel like they’ve been left out of the Batman stories in the theater for far too long.

Gunn has also teased Nightwing several times as well, and I think Jason once. And Barbara, and Cassandra Cain. Also said he's actively taking inspiration from the Justice League and Young Justice animations.

I do think that with all we know from this project so far we have at least a somewhat good idea as for the type of Batman they're going with, especially since they also need to distance themselves from Pattinson's take. All of that combined... come on, the hyper specifics on story and such are probably yet to be determined, but all of this along with using Morrison as at least a general blueprint does make it kinda obvious as to what we can generally expect of this Batman's characterization, and the boxes that the actor playing him will have to check.

Well it wouldn’t make much sense for Batman to be younger than at the very least 35 then would it

Yeah I think the same. Im of the mind the age range for this is gonna be 35-45 or something like that.

This guy.

Do we know that all of these characters are going to be introduced at all once in the first movie though? Maybe for the first movie we'll get Dick Grayson, and then the rest of the characters will be introduced as the movies go along. Maybe Damian Wayne isn't introduced until Batman is in his mid 40s.

Brave and the Bold is already a movie about Damian Wayne as Robin. I don't know if all those characters will appear in Brave and the Bold, but obviously the general idea at this point is that he's at a point in his career where the extended Bat-Family, in whatever form, is a thing.

There are so many people in the Bat Family that Batman would actually be in his 60s by the time Damian gets introduced, if you tried to stick to the comics timeline. Perhaps streamlining things would be best.

I half-joked about it around the time of Rob’s casting, but with the extended Bat-family bound to become a thing on-screen, Kristen Stewart for Kate Kane could really work.

Ohhh yeah, I see it. He certainly looks the part. And its funny, Peck usually pops up for Batman when people play around with old-school fan castings.

Kinda hate to use this argument but...
Ethan Peck on his own is an intriguing choice. Interesting look, cool voice, seems like a decent enough actor.
The problem?
He's probably too damn similar to Robert Pattinson. They both have a similar bodybuild, they both are around the same age and look the same age, they're both handsome in a pretty weird almost vampiric way, and yeah, I'll say it, even their jawlines look alike. They're both very much cut from the same cloth.
It's tricky because while I'm of the mindset that I don't think Gunn will necessarily be zigging on every place where Reeves is zagging (I do very much think that this Batman and this Gotham will still be fairly dark for example, and I don't think Gunn will stir away from allowing this Batman to be complex in ways that might overlap with Reeves take on some capacities since a lot of it is basic comic Batman stuff) I also think that the thing that'd even allow them to have those overlaps would be to have a very different Bruce Wayne actor from what they have with Pattinson, and yeah this is not it.

Claflin is another one I feel a bit similar about though to a less radical degree. Main difference though is that Claflin comes across as a lot less edgier than Pattinson. But even then I can probably imagine casting directors picking Claflin whenever "Robert Pattinson-type" appears on a casting sheet.

A Batman tv show with the same quality of 'Superman & Lois' and the first Arrow/Flash seasons would be dope. Instead we get this :csad:

………….. okay.

EDIT: Oh, you’re talking about Gotham Knights.

Batman fans are about as well fed as you can get. We'll survive Gotham Knights. lol

The thing that’s felt so odd about that show since information started coming out is that it almost feels like… 20 years too late.

Like a Batman-themed show The WB would’ve paired Smallville with when Birds of Prey didn’t work out and we were all in a Batman drought post-B&R.

But now that we’re back to Batman being a fairly regular cinematic presence and even having TV like Titans that feature elements of the Bat-world, doing a show with a newly made-up adopted son (again, when we already have Dick on Titans) and a bunch of plain-clothes allies? Weird. Feels dated.
