3 years younger than Hal Jordan. Chandler’s casting opens the door for an older Batman IMO. Brolin would be perfect, and I prefer an older Batman.

I think they are only casting an older Hal because John is going to be the main GL that we are expected to follow, joining the Justice League and things like that. Unless Bruce is passing the torch to Dick Grayson, I don't think they are going to cast a 65 year old Bruce.

He’s not 65, he’s 56. Brolin is just about the only guy that would be a step up from Pattinson. I don’t care about his age, Batman works better as an older guy within the context of a shared universe. I could go younger but I think DCU Batman should be in his 40s at least

I'm not opposed. Older Batman allows more focus on the Bat Family in the DCU.

I feel like 35-40 is the perfect spot to be in. Assuming the DCU has some longevity, that gives you a solid 10-15 years to work with before the actor hits 50. Chris Evans was Captain America for what, 8 years? Seems to fit the timeline, especially if the first few years end up being cameos (unless they hold off on DCU Batman completely until Reeves is done).

Bruce has to grapple with the reality of being in an old folks home. A place where crime and sex run rampant, and our hero only has one good hip to serve up justice with.

Longevity is a nonissue for Batman considering how much is handled by a stunt double and cgi. It’s just a case of what direction they wanna go and Gunn said a few years older right? So I’m guessing anywhere from thirties to late forties, depending on the vibe of the actor. Some just have a vibe that doesn’t feel too old beside a young Supes, like Affleck IMO.

And if they want this Batman to be the older Pattinson, perhaps someone who can play 40-45 ish would be appropriate.

Realistically though, the height is probably the biggest issue with him since we know for a fact that Gunn cares about that sort of thing, but he did like this post, so ya never know…
