I also feel sad as humans when we celebrate with exuberance the death of these high profile people. Was Gaddafi a bad guy, who did bad things, yes. He most likely deserved to be executed if that is what his peers and justice system decided to be the right course of action. But my issue is with the brutality and depravity that humans sink to and it just amazes me. I just feel there has to be a sense of decorum and human dignity that needs to be applied to all people in death. It should be done not for the dead but for what it says about the living.

I have no tears to shed for Gadhafi and think he was a monster who very much made his fate. But, I cannot honestly say that I enjoyed the videos that went viral or could celebrate his death. He was an awful man who had an awful death. Seeing someone beaten and tortured, no matter how horrid a person, is not something to celebrate. I wish he'd been put on trial in Libya (not the Hague where he could sit comfortably).

But the Libyan rebels served their own justice. I doubt many really care a mass-murdering, terrorist supporting, rape enabling bastard is gone. Let it be.
