Justice League Brett Ratner is the Latest on the Shortlist

When a director has made nine movies, and only three of them have been liked by critics, that suggest he might be a hack.

Man people these days are such extremists. The majority of relatively successful directors are not hacks, they're just not innovators. They play convention well, but don't 'wow' the audience. That is not a hack, just not genius.

Ratner is serviceable. He can make a great script work, but doesn't seem to have much artistic aplomb in being able to see what can make a decent or bad script into a better one. I'm sure a jl movie by him with a decent script would be fine. Just not incredible. I'd rather the wachowskis do it for sure.
