If Bane breaks Batman in the film, does that mean we will get The Bat-Wheelchair?

LOL! :woot: :word:

That look like it'll come out the back of the Tumbler as the spare wheel!

It wouldn't seem like it, but Batman is on screen in all of the movies for around 20 minutes each.

Batman - 21% of screentime (26 min.)
Batman Returns - 17.5% of screentime (22 min.)
Batman Forever - 19% of screentime (23 min.)
Batman and Robin - 15% of screentime (19 min.)
Batman Begins - 16% of screentime (23 min.)
The Dark Knight - 16% of screentime (25 min.)

Of course, these stats are from this brilliant thread:

So honestly, I don't see a problem with there being "Not a lot of Batman" in this movie. It's not even an issue.

First appearance of Batman: 3 minutes
Batman vs. Catwoman: 5 minutes
Car Chase / Bat-Pod: 5 minutes
Batman vs. Bane - Round 1: 10 minutes
Batman vs. Bane - Round 2 - Finale: 10 minutes

That’s 33 minutes of Batman, just as an example, and that’s generous compared to the other films. If it’s a two and half hour movie, you could easily have Bruce rehabilitate for half the movie, and it’s still going to have the regular amount of Batman. The “Broken Bat” storyline really isn’t an issue as far as screentime. If anything, we could have more Batman than ever before.

I've never noticed that before!,Thanx for that stats

Oh wow. Never noticed only around 20 minutes

BTAS had Bane at least wanting to break the Bat. I just watched the episode. He says twice "I'll break you." The very last one he's actually got Batman lifted above his head as if he's about to smash him over his knee. No matter how mature BTAS was, I'm not so sure it was Timm's decision to just skip that part as if it wasn't essential to Bane's character. It kind of is. Proof of that is that Bane has served little purpose in Batman comics since Knightfall ended. I'd be willing to be that censors and the appropriateness of running that story on a show aimed primarily at 7-10 year olds no matter how mature the writing just wasn't going to fly. Have the hero crippled on a Saturday morning cartoon? No way.

And let's try to forget that Schumacher even used "Bane" in his movie. Oddly... the Arkham Asylum Bane seemed an awful lot like B&R "Bane."
Yes, I don't know why someone would think that Timm ever would have had the permission to have Bane break Batman's back when the censors didn't even like for them to show blood on the show. They got chewed out about showing it on the first episode with Man-bat, then it was showed very sparingly afterward. There weren't very many deaths on the show because of the censors (though TNBA was allowed to be a bit more daring with Over the Edge). I know Kyodai Ken died and there may have been one or two others, but most of the time, if someone fell off of a building on the show, they fell into water, and if a blimp exploded, those flying in it conveniently already had parachutes strapped to them. Compare this to the Justice League cartoons (which were on a less restricting network) where people were dying all over the place.

2. rehabilitation in asia
Ah, that would make sense. Will we see the Mask of Tengu, I wonder?

I sort of feel a bit pissed off that nobody told me the news when they had it, but such is life.

We're not popular enough, Regwec, haha.

So it seems. Well, if I ever find a TDKR script that some studio lackey has left on a train, then I swear I will post it to you and you alone.

Once the movie is out, I will tell everyone that I have had the script for months, and add a number of "LOLs" and "ROFLs".

Hey, I got nothing back then, either:csad:

Can I be part of your Hellfire Club?

Good plan; I'll start a website called Batman-in-the-Movies, and on opening night will discuss that I knew how the movie would end all along.

Y'all.

first off, i used to be on here as other names, some knew me as bat adz i used to post quite alot but lost touch with it - i was the british fellah who typed how i spoke. i used to have top convos with solidus and keyser soshi so they will probably back me up if they remember me it was a while back tough.

I'd like to say IF solidus is on the money then that way of doing the film the way he has described would make sence to me with my filming background and from the evidence i have read etc etc and personally thats how i would do the film

if this is nolan's last turn on the bat (for now but mabee he will be persuaded to stay again) and bale wont do another bat film without nolan too - if this is the case then they are both going to want to go out with a bang and give a twist that noone is expecting and they will want to shock people . nolan doesnt want somone tagging on the end of his series after all his hard work (yes im pointing at you shcumacka you doush bag tit!) also Warner bros aint gonna let the franchise go pear shaped again so there gonna leave it (for now) on a high

so finally getting to my points

a) controversal - stem cell research and wayne family fortune could be a controversal plot point with obvious scenes of brucy baby working himself hard to get back quicker thiswill probably happen
b) essences of the old armour coming back - bulkier, heavier mabee we will even see a neck brace like in the long halloween so he cant move his neck like i begins and allother series
c) batman might not actually ever be fully recovered but i bet my ass he aint gonna show any criminal scum his weak points infact hell drive even harder to over compensate, alfred will be shouting at bruce in his michael kane way " if you keep this up you gonna fackin kill yourself" and you lot remember TDK at all??? - remember batman has no limits!!!!! bruce wayne does, well if i have, i cant afford to know them etc etc this is reitterated in bb "if i become more than just a man, as bruce wayne i can be destroyed, but as a symbol.... as a symbol i can be ever lasting." batman might utalize braces within the suit, whos gonna guess bruce wayne is batman if he is confined to a wheelchair but bats is bouncing about proving to bane and others that they shouldnt mess with bats even more. the rumour might go on the street that bane killed batman
d) most of the GCPD now beleive bats is a killer, if they do then word on the street will be the same too if bats disapears for a bit then that could also strengthen the rumour and also if batman rose from the "dead" it would emphasize his supernatural aura to the fcriminal fraternity - after all "criminals by nature are a cowerdly and superstitious lot"

e) also im still not convinced the dark knight rises is the actual title nolan hasnt said anything and we dont have any logos slapped on the net yet, if it was then wouldnt they have teased our ass off with promo shat? like they did with the dark knight symbol with the light burning through it? ie cracking

I actually would not be surprised if we see Catwoman kill at least one or two scumbags in the film and I would not be upset by it.

Bane will probably do most of the killing of course.

I can see Batman on the verge of killing Bane toward the end, but instead Bane takes his own life or something like that.

Hmmm... This could very well be true. Don't get me wrong. I just don't understand why Nolan would only tell Hardy these three things. Why not just explain the significance of the character that he will be playing? :whatever:

:awesome:

I prefer to call it the "Batchair".

Maybe the movie will start with Bruce recuperating (in a foreign country?), and we see Bane breaking his back in a flashback.

To fully heal and rehabilitate from a severe spinal break would take years of therapy, wouldn't it? Not to mention the time required for the spine itself to mend. I don't see how they could show Batman getting his back broken, healing from the injury, and then making a triumphant return all in present-time.
