Now that we have reports that Dent and Rachel may have a relationship in TDK, what do people think about a love triangle between Bruce, Dent, and Rachel?

IMO, I dont think just because he had to give her up for the mission that it means hes over her, or that Rachel is over him. Hopefully, the chemistry between Christian and Maggie is better than what Christian had with Katie

I'd be the rumors of a Dent/Rachel relationship are false.

Didn't Tom Cruise not want Katie Holmes to do the movie because of a heavy love scene between Bruce and Rachel?

I don't know. i thought katie couldn't do the movie cause of scheduleing difficulties... either way im glad she isn't in it

Supposedly Tom Cruise doesn't want her to do anything but raise the baby.

The love triangle doesn't appeal to me. Seems wrong too, to have Bruce's ex-girlfriend go do his friend in the war against crime, too.

If Bruce is walking into parties with girls, and possibly going out with a Miss Selina Kyle at the end - I dont think Rachel and Bruce are going to be hot and heavy in TDK.

I thought the Dent/Dawes relationship rumor was debunked. As for a triangle, there's no triangle. Rachel loves Bruce but can't be with him because of Batman. Plus he didn't seem too in love with her in Begins. I mean I saw a definite friendship between the two, but really nothing romantic.

The Goon - BOF's "insider" - reported it yesterday. And he seems pretty right on so far...

Co-signed. The only "real" girl for Bruce is Selina (maybe Talia). The further away Rachel is from Bruce, the better. I don't want Rachel to be the MJ of this series. :down

Bruce is a cold dude. He feels something for her, he just can't say he does b/c he doesn't know how to.

That's the way I saw it. But yeah....she said she loved him, so one would think she'd have the harder time to get over it, while Bruce will do what he's done his whole life. Keep moving.

If she's hooking up with Dent, automatically there's a triangle b/c of her past with Bruce, though. He doesn't have to make out with her for there to be a triangle, b/c we already know what's up with those two.

So true

i think it was established at the end of BEGINS Rachel and Bruce would remain Great friends... close... hell they are child hood bubbies... i dont think there is a love with them, and she might fall for her new boss DENT and in BEGINS she was like if the crime stop, batman isnt needed then yeah i will be with you... but she lives in gotham and she so knows there is no chance of crime stopping so she moved on has dent! either way if she is killed... i think DENT would care, but cares more for his campaign......and bruce would care coz hell he does love her as a great mate! and is losing a friend, so yeah

meh my opinion goes ignored so thats my 2 cents...

im guessing no love triangle cause rachel is gonnna die at the end of this film

if she does die, there can still be a triangle ot cause tention with characters,

ultimatly the triangle will be destroyed so meh... but there can still be one

I don't think that matters. The models are just for show and Rachel is probably dead before Selina enters the picture.

I want Dent married to Gilda already. Leave Rachel out of any love conflict and I'm happy.

They were more than friends. They're relationship is downplayed incredibly, even in the film itself. But, by the end of the film....it was clear that before Bruce had left Gotham, they had a relationship beyond friendship. Seemed like they were childhood sweethearts. Teen sex and all.

from this I gather there's no more than friendship between bats and rach.

If she gets with dent, then sure there might be somewhat of a triangle though bruce obviously to me never had any desire to be with rachel. There's nothing there between them. I hope she dies though at the hands of joker to piss batman off.

just once i'd like writers/directors to resist including a love interest. it isn't necessary every single time.

and could be a means to cause friction between the two after her death.

go bruce.... do you think he had the katie one or maggie? lol pffft nah he had both for sure!!!

This is true, but I do want to keep female characters around. It is possible for male and female characters to interact with no love forming.

Precisely. Someone above said that there was a chemistry between the two, but nothing particularly romantic. Upon seeing BB I was really surprised (and relieved) that they didn't use the female character as YET ANOTHER back and forth love interest that disappears at the end of the film anyway. I think their last scene together sums their relationship up nicely and there's not really a need to explore it further. Even if they do make her keen on Dent that tie'll be severed when half of his face is doused with acid.
