The Dark Knight Who will be the better Rachel?

Hmmm...great actress or Dawson's Creek alumni? Beautiful, mature woman, or one who looks like a 15 year old girl?

This one is hard for me, I must regroup and post my answer another time.

Start what? There's been an awful lot of juvenile focus and opinion on looks rather than quality of the performer in this thread, I was merely adding my two cents on the issue.

Dude she dosent look fifteen at all, why does everyone say that?

Katie and Maggie has new pics on www.people.com / star tracks section.

To make fun of Katie because she's from TV is uncalled for when she's among the few TV elite who is able to parlay her TV career into a respectable motion picture. That is hard to do and so many movie stars who try to get into the TV industry struggles too in fact most of their projects in primetime or cable flop right away. If movie audiences are hard to please TV audiences are the same.

This is courtesy of Derbeste in Rotten Tomatoes whose topic makes perfect sense: WHY DO FANBOYS PICK ON THEIR LEADING LADIES
and why most leading ladies suck?
Let's look at the track record:
Kate Bosworth: bleh
Kristin Dunst: Yawn
X-Men: the women were forgettable no wonder its called X-Men not X-Women.
Pheiffer and Kidder had good reviews in the past but now in the world of message boards they get the insults too and their performances now are
rather annoying and cartoonish at times.
The former Batman ladies were stiff and yes forgettable.
Electra: I threw up a little
Bloodrayne and Ultraviolet no ranges on those actresses.
Angelina in Tomb Raider and Charlize Theron in Aeon Flux makes you
forget they're Oscar winners.
Catwoman: I threw up a lot. What a catastropher. Reminds me of Gigli
for Bennifer only to compare Catwoman is kitty chow while Gigli is caviar.
Alba in Fantastic 4: Hollywood has big problems when they keep hiring this woman for a job while robbing other great actresses out there.
Katie Holmes in Begins: She's not the problem but some fans are when they'e too busy grumbling they forget to appreciate that what they had
was actually better than the rest.

I agree with the thoughts of this fans.

I'm sorry, but if you're implying that Katie was better than Pfeiffer, I'll have to disagree 120%.

I'm definitely happy for them, and wish she had come back. But I'm fine with Gylenhaal.

I meant the beautiful , Maggie part :o

begins would have been 10 times more boring godfather-ripoff-ish and bland without her.

IMO Katie Holmes was the only weak casting part of BB. I just wasn't convinced that she was an assistant DA, mainly because she just looked too young. I suppose she did well with the material though, just that I thought she looked too young. I've never seen Maggie in anything, but she does look a bit more mature, so if she can act then I'll be satisfied.

She's a pretty girl. Not stunning sexy or anything, but she's cute. Especially in Stranger than Fiction. She can act as well. She'll fit very very nicely into TDK.

Shes average looking, but all that matters is that she looks good in TDK

Maggie is a much better actress than Katie, but Katie is far more attractive.

Maggie should be told by someone it's not natural for your little brother to be prettier than you. :o

Katie Holmes is not looking youngish anymore but transforming into a hot woman.

Im with Superman fans that with the collaboration of Cruise and Singer we will be hearing rumors of Katie or Tom joining the next Superman project.LOL!
oh.hell.no.

I hated that movie and didn't think she looked hot in that at all.

But I think she'll do a good job in this film and that's all that matters.

I wouldn't call her career respectable from an artistic standpoint, the best film she's been in was Begins and that didn't have much to do with her contribution, which was the weakest part of the film, IMO.

I heartily disagree with some of your list, Bosworth, Dunst, Pfeiffer (especially her), Kidder, and Famke all did a better job with their part. I felt something (not just in my pants) when they did their roles. I enjoyed watching them. With Katie in Begins, playing a lame character created specifically for that movie I was just bored whenever she was in the spotlight (which, thankfully, wasn't too often). The script is half to blame but she takes up the other equal half behind the character of Rachel Dawes suckage...I'm just glad that this time we have a better, more believable actress (and yes, better looking, IMHO) playing her, given that were stuck with this character until Mr J (hopefully, finger's crossed) pops her in TDK.

Well, who's the better actor? Katie or Maggie?

Maggie, you say? I agree old chap, wot wot. So SHE shall be the bettah Rachel, guv'nah.

...

Whoa. I just relapsed into Cockney/Chimney Sweep speak.

Wierd.

I just don't like Maggie's cheeks. They're huge! She's hidin' somethin' in there.
