Bruce Wayne Comes Out

Batman BATB has nothing to do with current comic continuity. Thats a childrens cartoon. I dont get the connection. Those are 2 seperate beasts. More typical SHH ignorance.

Wow, what? You didn't get what I was saying in my previous point at all, did you? I know that BATB has nothing to do with the current comic continuity, that's not my point at all. You said that what they're doing with the comics now is gimmicky. In response, I said that most things in superhero stories are gimmicky, and I used the show as an example of that since it embraces the typical superhero gimmicks more than anything else. You can't get the "connection"? Maybe you're the one with the ignorance.

This shows just how limited you are in the different writing in Batman comics history.

Yeah, I've only read comics from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and the current batch, I'm truly limited. Once again, you've missed my point. A lot of people here and in general's knowledge of Batman stems from those creators that I mentioned and so expect everything to be like what those creators have done, hence where a lot of the criticism of Morrison's run seems to come from. If you're not one of these people, fine, I apologise for putting you in the same group, but this seems to be the case for a lot of fans.

The old "get over it" line. I love it on here. Hey, heres an idea, why dont you take your own advice and realize that there are readers who dont think that Morrison is anything grand is thinks that this current direction is terrible?

No one is *****ing that this is going to end the world. lol People are complaining because they think the direction is stupid. Its a comic book. The world does not hinge on the success of comic books. lol Wow.

Have you heard of a thing called a "metaphor"? Or "hyperbole"? Yes, I know no one here has actually been *****ing that it's going to end the world, I was exaggerating to illustrate how hysterical some people here and in other threads have been acting. Judging from comments such as "AND GRANT MORRISON ****S UP EVERYTHING AGAIN!" and your own "and the downward spiral of Batman comics continues", was I really wrong in what I said? I mean Jesus, and I'M the one who's ignorant?

Let's also get something clear, I have no problem with people disliking what Morrison is doing. There have been plenty of people criticising the run on the DC Comics forum and I haven't been grilling them. There are things I don't like myself about his Batman stories.

What I do have a problem with is people acting like this is the worst Batman storyline ever WHEN IT HASN'T EVEN HAPPENED YET, and just the general idea that fans seem to have that anything that goes against the classic status quo is bad. I mean, at least read the storyline itself before judging it. It may actually be good and who knows? You might actually enjoy it.

And if not?. Well, there are plenty of other Batman comics on the stand where the whole Inc storyline isn't going to be involved such as Batman and Detective Comics as well as the new series "Batman: The Dark Knight". So even if the storyline turns out to be crap, well, it's not hurting any of the other comics out there.

lol...Bat fans are so...hahahahahaha!

The best part is how Darkseid1 didnt really prove Drz wrong at all.

And what exactly is Batman's status quo, that was so viciously destroyed? The only time Batman may've had a status quo was in Detective Comics 27....and that ended with Detective Comics 38. Lol, silly fanboys.

Exactly, not to mention the whole new direction with Batman Inc is brand new. Sure you can mention the club of heroes aka international league of Batmen, but this is a whole new thing, and it doesn't either really resemble Frank Miller's Sons of Batman.

That bit doesn't bother me as much as the idea of a "Batman academy" with tons of Batmans all over the world.

Same here... I don't like that at all.

I don't like the idea of Wayne coming out and admitting he funds Batman...but if you recall the end of "The Dark Knight Returns"...isn't this almost the same thing?

I don't like the idea, an Army of Batmen...why not have an Army of Supermen. It takes away the mystique of the character to have him a global international product like this.
It's not like there are a million guys dressed like Batman. He's training new heroes to protect new regions. Like Mr. Unknown and Nightrunner.

For everybody who trashing Morrison, for everybody who's trashing people trashing Morrison, for everybody who's going off the deep end for either one side or the other on this new move for Batman... I give you this.

Maybe it does remove the mystique of Batman, but I guess it's time for something new anyway. I'll read and see how it goes, could be good, could suck, but I'll enjoy the ride.

I've read the new arch of morrisons and loved it. the whole "Batman and robin must die" arch. Parts dragged, parts were lacking, but overall, it was a great story. The comic "Batman INC" Seems like its genius, and could possibly introduce new villains(most likely) Some people get tired of the same ole' villains in the story, some don't. But you never know.

The Nolan movies, animation dvds and paul dini's DC run and Arkham games are my only batman fix these days...

That's a shame. You're missing some of the best Batman comics of the past 20 years.

You mean there's another timeline outside of Morrisons I can follow?
That's not even remotely clever or funny.

And believe me, if it was I'd give you credit for it. I'd respect you even.

But that type of a reply is reminiscence of a 5yo child haphazardly attempting to formulate a comeback much superior to what his underdeveloped and immature brain can grasp.

Average day for Grommers then?

^ Now that's quality.

An average day for me is still better than morrisons run at his best!

Jeez, grommers, quit while you're behind...

(Cue Another horrible Grommer comeback)

What!? Change!? Me so mad! Character no be same for 70 years! Me want villain of month month after month! :cmad:

I'm down for change. Abusing a character with a silly gimmick because you're out of ideas may fit into the broad category of 'change', sure, but there are many ways to change a character. Generalizing this one particular idea as 'change' as a whole is misleading, inaccurate, and an uncouth way to demean another's opinion.

That said, there have been loads of Batman stories that I've scoffed at in the past, and others that I've loved. Life goes on.

If you liked the Nolan movies, you'd probably like the books that inspired them: Year One, The Long Halloween, etcetera. :)
