Shawn Ashmore retweeted Singer so...I guess that confirmation. :funny:

Waiting for Ellen to confirm in some way

Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore = AMAZING NEWS! Or we need is Halle berry back and I'm as right as rain.

Although I'm beginning to have serious doubts that Halle Berry will be back now that both Anna and Ellen are back.

I think they'd want to avoid any recasting/confusion for a movie this ambitious.

Agreed.

This is also the reason why I don't see them dropping any characters from XMFC (particularly Azazel, Emma, Angel, Banshee, and Havok) completely w/o explanation.

Moira is neither here or there considering that she was essentially made removable from a sequel by the mind wipe at the end of XMFC.

Considering how many people don't think much January Jones as an actress, I'll bet most will see it as an improvement.

Bryan should draft a contract where Halle can return as Storm only if the character sports a mohawk.

Okay that was just mean :p

I do want Storm/Halle to return though.

Yeah they'll want to retain and capitalise on any familiarity with both First Class and X1-X3.

Why?

I wonder if we could get Kelsey Grammer back as future Beast. Would be great if Famke and Marsden could return somehow as well.

If combined with the FC cast members returning, this would be one of the most impressive casts in a comic movie. Even for a normal movie, it would still be. Quite a few Oscar winners or nominees there in a single film.

So far we've got:

Hugh Jackman (Oscar nominee)
Jennifer Lawrence (Oscar nominee)
Patrick Stewart (Golden Globe nominee)
Ian McKellan (Oscar nominee)
Michael Fassbender (Golden Globe and BAFTA nominee)
James McAvoy (Golden Globe and BAFTA nominee)
Anna Paquin (Oscar winner)
Ellen Page (Oscar nominee)
Shawn Ashmore (not-quite-in-the-same-league actor)
Halle Berry (possibly?) (Oscar winner)

I just don't see Bryan adding Storm because he already has the strong female characters with Kitty and Rogue (if he does them right) And he's made it clear he doesn't like Storm, he probably won't waste any screen time with a character he doesn't like.

All I need is Kelsey Grammer... please, Singer?

It might look cool if they went with a fauxhawk look.

Storms best hair was the bob haircut with the two long strips of hair on either side. But I myself loved the Mohawk punk look she had in the 80s i just perfer the more streamlined look.

Honestly, I'm stunned by this news. I just didn't think Ellen Page or Anna Paquin would be interested.

Is Singer trying to make the biggest X-Men film of all time, considering this cast? I mean, this cast is ridiculous.

When the hell does this opening again?

As strange as it might seem, I think a mohawk for Storm is more plausible than the bob with the two long strips (which I'm a big fan of too, I think it might've been Madureira that came up with that?). I can picture Halle with the Mohawk but I can't picture her with the bob + long strips.

Weird I know.

Ellen made it clear there were things she didn't like last time--mainly Ratner himself. :funny: I'm glad she's back though

Is Rebecca Romjin up for coming back as well? Has anyone asked her in the media?

Yeah so far the cast is strangely good for any film l let alone a comic book film. But I ain't mad at that

She did sortof betray Magneto in TLS, or at least I think that's what they were trying to accomplish with scene, still not clear on that to this day LOL

And where is marvelrobbins :D?

I'm surprised they're not here discussing this awesome news.

This is getting way, way way too crowded. Can we have some news about the more relevant cast returning now? Because more and more it feels like this is turning into the x3 Bryan wanted to make rather than the First Class 2 with bits of X4 that he SHOULD be making.

Had a weird thought after this casting news, what if Singer is retconning First Class out of the continuity? Very stupid, I know considering the First Class cast is being used. But, how else do you explain the opening scene between Xavier and Erik in X3 now being apart of continuity after what we witnessed in First Class...

The obvious answer is Star Trek '09, meaning alternate timeline. Meaning, the time traveler has to go back in time before X-Men First Class for it all to make sense, in my mind.

I just want to see SOME variation of Cyclops. Young or James Marsden. Preferably the latter.

But just set him up back in the franchise so that in the sequel he can take on a TRUE starring, leadership role.

By the time X-Men: Days of Future Past hits screens it will be the SEVENTH film in the X-Men franchise (wild, right?) and we will still not have seen a truly accurate and heroic depiction of Cyclops....

8th flick HAS to be the charm, right?

A cast like this deserves a great script.
