You could be right about that, Hugh got a tweet to himself and he was the biggest star of the original trilogy, the second biggest star was Halle so maybe they might give her a tweet to herself.

I guess I'm just worried that Fox and Singer may have seen the opinions that people have of Halle/Storm and decided to leave the character out altogether. I hope I'm wrong but I have a strong feeling I'm right and not to toot my own horn but I usually am lol!

Hugh only got a tweet by himself because someone else broke the story and Singer had no choice but to confirm it. I doubt that was his intent.

I wouldn't be shocked at this point if the last cast announcements were for Jean and Scott.

I don't see them being kept dead.

At the very least, Jean will be resurrected. Especially seeing as how that's a staple of Jean Grey

Not sure if they are going to bring them back. The tweet from Bryan Singer thanking Brett Ratner for letting Shadowcat, Rogue and Iceman live could hint that they are only bringing back that characters didn't die in X3. Of course with the exception of professor X, but he didn't really die, he went to another body so thats another story.

I'd like it if they played the story as close to the original comic story as possible. Obviously, changes would be made to fit it into the film series, but still. Ideally...

Point 1: First Class era - The assassination happens, setting the stage for the DOFP future.
Point 2: Alternate Future - Older versions of the characters in the internment camps, devising a way to change what happened.
Point 3: First Class era - Aided by the telepathic knowledge of what's to come, the team prevents the assassination, and puts them on the path for the future we know in X1, X2 and so on...

If they play the time travel in the film the same way they did in the comics, Kitty wouldn't be the "time traveler" because she wouldn't even be around during the First Class era.

Honestly, I'm stunned by this news. I just didn't think Ellen Page or Anna Paquin would be interested.

Is Singer trying to make the biggest X-Men film of all time, considering this cast? I mean, this cast is ridiculous.

The cast has a lot of star power. Ellen Page got nominated for Oscars a few years ago and she appeared in Inception. Anna Paquin has True Blood, one of the most watched Cable TV shows right now and she just won Golden Globes a few years ago. The cast will definitely help the box-office performance of this movie.

This is getting way, way way too crowded. Can we have some news about the more relevant cast returning now? Because more and more it feels like this is turning into the x3 Bryan wanted to make rather than the First Class 2 with bits of X4 that he SHOULD be making.

Way way too crowded? We all know that this movie will bring back characters from the original trilogy, so what were you expecting? 1 to 3 people. Its not like they are already bringing back more than 20 people. And people getting excited about this shows that people are still interested with the original cast.

I just want to see SOME variation of Cyclops. Young or James Marsden. Preferably the latter.

But just set him up back in the franchise so that in the sequel he can take on a TRUE starring, leadership role.

By the time X-Men: Days of Future Past hits screens it will be the SEVENTH film in the X-Men franchise (wild, right?) and we will still not have seen a truly accurate and heroic depiction of Cyclops....

Maybe. Like I said before, Cyclops wouldn't shine in DOFP if he returns because the cast is huge and I don't think Bryan Singer would give him enough role so that would just disappoint fans. So if they are planning to bring him back, save him for the next X-Men movie, not this one.

so this is turning into a X4 with all these names returning and i have to say im surprised that after the things first class ignored from X3 that its happening like this tbh

in a way it makes me annoyed at ratner that he killed off cyclops so he is out of any more Xmen sequels

with rogue,kitty and iceman back it seems we will find out what happened after X3 otherwise there would be no reason to bring these 3 back =/

I'm not shocked by their decision. To be honest, its better that they move on after what happened in X3 instead of ignoring it. It would just confuse casual viewers. And this isn't exactly turning into X4 and its too early to tell, Bryan Singer will probably announce a few names from the First Class.

I think Storm could be the final announcement. Maybe Fox wants to wait for a better momment to do it. just a possibility

Yes and they have to bring back some people from the First Class. If Shadowcat is coming back, I don't see why supporting characters like Havok and Banshee won't come back apart from Ellen Page's star power.

Does anyone else think they'll show us a young Cyclops and Storm in this movie, where Professor X first met them? I mean, Singer never said X-Men: OW was canon.

Maybe a cameo but for a regular role, I don't think this is the perfect timing to introduce the younger version of Cyclops, Storm and even Jean Grey.
