DTV feature length animated films picking up the respective stories after season 7 & 5 of Buffy and Angel, would've been infinitely better than, as good as it is, the season 8 comic book series. I can't choose which season is my favourite, it flows as one long narrative to me, I've never been able to choose, but I do prefer Buffy to Angel. IMO, Buffy is the best TV show ever produced, and Angel is the best spinoff, and second best show overall. I just love these shows.

Thanks for the link. So this animated series is a go? I remember talk of one after Buffy ended but aside from a few sketches, nothing came out of it. Where did this clip actually come from? The voices were spot on, but the one thing I didnt like was Buffy's design. I wish she looked more like SMG, like Giles looked like Anthony Stewart Head

that is what was shopped to the networks along with scripts from the tv writers.

That looked amazing. its so frustrating it wasn't picked up! It picks up in the best era of course! looks like season 2 by each hair cut.

Thats not necessarily one of the finer apects of the animated series. I mean, an even younger Dawn? Why? To make her even more annoying?

Dawn has no place in 1-4. I don't think she had a place in 6-7 either. She should have gone back to energy when glory died and 'erased' from the last year. I'd rather have one year of canon messed up than 4. I thought the timeline was not rewritten it was the memory that was added by the monks so she still isn't actually there Buffy just thinks she was.

anyway as for the cartoon the library needed a redesign it doesn't look like sunnydale high.

It helps give us more insight to the things that Dawns creation changed in Buffys life. But she probably wouldnt have even been featured as much as she was S5-7.

I think I remember an interview Joss did talking about how with an animated series, he can keep them in highschool as long as he wanted to.

And the animated series came around the end of Buffy so they probably wouldve done a year of doing both if anything.

its probably because she was a voice actor, the others arn't use to being on mic talking to nothing. (she did the video game buffy voice)

Looking at that promo reel just makes me sad for what we're gettin in terms of superhero animated series in the near future. Iron Man, Invincible, and Black Panther all look like crap.

Iron Man looks pretty good, actually. I just object to the fact that Tony's a teenager, which takes away so much potential for *****ebaggery from the character--and, let's face it, Tony's greatest appeal is that he's the a**hole superhero.

I hated the character in S5, but I grew to tolerate her in S6/ S7. It had a lot to do with her friendship with Spike, it was very nicely done. That goes for his friendship with Joyce too.
