It's stupid. The show ended less than a decade ago, so it alone is still relatively fresh in people's minds. But then its little universe was kept alive for a couple more years in Angel, then yet again with the still successful Buffy and Angel comics. It's stupid to try and remake it now when no one wants it.

Doesn't matter if they're open to allowing Whedon to participate. The creator of the franchise and the engineer behind most of its success should not be an optional participant.

That's pretty messed up but if they're really bent on doing it, I sort of hope it's true. I'd rather Whedon Premptively protects it then let it just get destroyed without him.

I'd rather Whedon stay away and tell people it's not canon and means nothing. Then the movie could come out and gross less than $10 million. Worldwide.

I'd rather imagine Whedon on horseback with a sword, rallying the cast and crew to ensure that if someone ****s up their baby for the big screen, it's gonna be them. Mostly because I like parodies of Lord of the Rings, really. In reality, though, I would hope that Whedon would do his best to make sure his creation doesn't get ****ed on the big screen again. Although, if the studio is serious about no Willow or Xander, I cannot imagine how the film could actually be any good. I mean, it might actually be good, but a pale reflection of things that have Willow and Xander in them.

I agree that it sucks that Whedon won't be involved. If a Buffy movie is to be made, he should make it.

But the problem is really that it's the people behind the Buffy movie is making it. JJ Abrahams they are not.

I'm almost done with season 2 of Angel now. Man, what a great time for the series. I love seeing Angel humbled and working under Wesley after his big epiphany. It's a really nice progression from where they start to here to a crew of equals after they take over Wolfram and Hart.
